Singletary has a new home
Suns figured that our trade fodder was worth a promising second-round pick (D.J. Strawberry). Should at least get some more burn now, so good for Sean.

I won't make a big deal about this since I wrote a fan post (albeit briefly)
But I will say there is no harm in trying to develop and have in reserve a young PG or two that is cheap while the getting is good.
What’s the point? Rod Strickland was a late 1st round pick. Mark Jackson was too. The Knicks also had Maurice Cheeks at the end of his career at the same time. So what’s the point? Throwing a talented kid in a trade could end up biting you in your ass 8 years down the road, and nobody will ever comment that Singletary was drafted by the Kings in the 2nd round.

True
Milwaukee just got Damon Jones, Adrian Griffin, and Luke Ridnour for a talented second-round-sleeper PG. Wait a second…

Damned if you do, damned if you don't
So if Singletary flops GP is the idiot that wasted a 2nd round pick on him. And if he succeeds GP is the idiot that let him get away. Man, my shepherding job is looking better and better…

Well
Depends on what Greene’ does. If he becomes a stud then the trade doesn’t look so bad even if Singletary does great.
He can shoot, and he looks great in a suit. Hey, everybody - It's REGGIE TIME!

Basically what the Kings did
was exactly what I, and I think a bunch of people here, wanted them to do the day of the draft. They traded 2 second rounders for a late first rounder, and beyond that picked a guy who should have gone a lot earlier. Donte’ Greene’’’’ is a much better prospect than Sean Singletary and PE2. PE2 was drafted by the harlem globe trotters dude. enough said. Not sure what the Suns see in Singletary, but with Donte’, Bobby Brown, Jason Thompson and Old Man Bobby Jackson, I don’t think there is much room to complain this summer.

I agree with the overall point in your post (“not much room to complain this summer”) but wanted to play Devil’s Advocate for a second.
You relate the D-Greene trade like this:
Basically what the Kings did was exactly what I, and I think a bunch of people here, wanted them to do the day of the draft. They traded 2 second rounders for a late first rounder, and beyond that picked a guy who should have gone a lot earlier.
Emphasis mine.
If you want to say this, then you also have to say that the Kings traded Artest for “only” a late 2009 1st plus Bobby Jackson . . . which is the same deal they turned down last year with Denver. You can’t look at the Artest deal as a “better” deal than the Denver one, while also considering the two 2nds as equaling a late 1st this year.
Again, I agree that there isn’t much to complain about, I just wanted to point out the possible “double-counting” of the D-Greene acquisition.

I break down the deal as
Artest and two 2nd round picks for B-Jax, the rights to Donte Greene and a (most likely) late 1st round pick next year.
Show of hands – who likes that deal better than the #20 pick and expiring contract?
Show of hands, part II – Had they been able to do this deal on draft night, how many people would have given the KIngs an “A” grade for the draft, and how many people would have been lauding GP’s nimbleness and activity?

I don't
Which is why I’m leaving my objections where they are. It doesn’t matter what I wanted in the end. It’s still Geoff Petrie’s team to do with what he wants, right or wrong.
