More Martin Love from Abbott.
Then I'd add in some players [to the 2010 US FIBA team] who could help on a long, athletic, multi-talented squad:
3. Kevin Martin: Remember Michael Redd? Our zone buster? He didn't play much because his defense was low energy. Martin is one of the most efficient shooters in NBA history, and he has the speed and length to thrive in high-energy defense.

I just finished reading the article
Abbot has always been good about giving Martin the respect he deserves, but I was particularly energized by the fact that he puts Martin higher on his list than:
Al Horford
Shane Battier
Greg Oden
Carmelo Anthony
Tyson Chandler
Rodney Stuckey
Derrick Rose
and Rudy Gay
Some more obvious than others, some for specific reasons, but still. Summer of 2010 be damned! We’ve got Martin!

In History
What is that based on? It sounds good but there are a lot of good “shooters”

For example
Only two players have shot at least nine free throws a game and shot at least 40% from 3 in the same season – Michael Jordan and Kevin Martin. That would be one basis.

Also: he’s No. 7 all-time in True Shooting percentage among players who have a career usage rate above 20 (which basically means any primary offensive player). The No. 2 guard behind Adrian Dantley in this measure.

So, then
You two are saying Martin’s good?
Thought so.
Let's go home.-Kevin Martin
