With weeks to go before the start of training camp, the only question remaining: Is GP done tinkering with the roster? I suspect that he is, unless some blockbuster offer comes to him that would move a bad contract sooner than expected (K9) someone makes the perverbial "offer too good to refuse."
While I think moving Mikki now makes some sense and moves the rebuilding phase along sooner with Hawes/Williams/Thompson, I suspect that GP likes the "presence" his vets brings to the team, indeed, that is the most important part of BJax return, in my view. On the other hand, moving Mikki now seems to return assets that we already now have and at this point, we need less players, not more players, thus a 1 or 2 trade doesn't work. A 2 for 1 would be better (e.g. Mikki-Douby for Barbosa works technically), but seems less likely.
Thus, I think what you see now is what we will get going into the season. I also think the trade deadline poses the same issues, though perhaps through half the season GP will make some evaluation of some of the youth (i.e. Williams, Douby). Clearly, Mikki, BJax, and maybe even Miller will be thrown into the rumor mill frequently.
