The Best Trade is the One Not Done
there were rumors that the kings and mavs were talking about and artest deal. i was pretty much indifferent with that trade. then i saw this:
http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=3515172
now i am happy that GP didn't pull the trigger. whether the mavs would do the deal of not doesn't matter. basically we would be trading artesf for...well uh, artest. he headcase for a basketcase. pick your poison.

No offense, but can you please go read this and try again. This is not a good use of a FanPost.

TZ, maybe turning off Fanposts for awhile, letting everyone get used to Fanshots instead. When I was new, I had no clue, and I’m sure you get new readers all the time. Can you ive certain powers only to the few that use fanposts for the correct reason?

no offense but
i didn’t know that reading a fanpost/shot which should have been the other was such an inconvenience in your life. my sincerest apologies for taking about 30 secs.
when did so many rules about blogging start to appear? this isn’t the first site that i posted a simple comment with a link that someone had to make a stupid comment. it probably took longer for you to make your comment than it would have been to just hit the “back” button or the “home” button.
but thanks for your opinion. it had nothing to do with the actual post. but it has furthered my frustration with blog sites these days. (by the way, i am writing more on this reply so i can meet the minimum amount of words that are now required to respond to a comment. i don’t want the blog police to take away my priviledges of posting).

Calm down, homey. I’m just pointing out that just this morning I wrote a post about how to properly use FanPosts and FanShots, and asking for folks to at least attempt proper capitalization and punctuation.
As I said, this is not a good use of a FanPost. I didn’t delete it or give you a time-out or anything. I just hope, in the future, you’ll follow the basic conventions of the site. If you’re just posting a link, make a FanShot. And try to make an effort to use the shift key. It take less than 30 seconds, honest!

no mal-intent
it just gets very old hearing about proper posting techniques. i was under the assumption that these sites were up to discuss teams with which we all have a common interest in. but the whole post a link at this spot, but if you want to write something then post it here gets pretty old. ziller i know you are a regular poster and i have nothing against you, its just who the hell cares what is posted where, really? now we both have wasted time discussing something that really has no bearing on anything. this post was suppose to be about how happy we should all be that we didn’t trade artest for artest jr. (howard). if it should have been put somewhere else, well at the end of the day….who really cares?

Ziller isn't "a regular poster"
Ziller is StR deity.
In other words:
Dude, it’s his site. He makes the rules and he’s asking you nicely to abide by them and become a happy and productive member/fan/poster.
And it’s just a matter of common (or perhaps uncommon these days) courtesy to make your posts as readable as possible in order for people to enjoy reading them and then open up the discussion to more than posting how-to advice.

"StR deity"
Is what she said. Meaning, he’s the big kahuna, he runs the joint, etc.
And you’re the smelly kid of StR that sits in the corner, picks his nose and eats it, then pisses in the pool when you swim in it.
Jealousy does not become you.

Dude
Most of us care, because we prefer to see the site used in a legible, coherent manner – you know, the manner for which it was designed?
And the fact that you don’t know that “ziller” is a bit more than a “regular poster” means you might want to try to be more of a part of the community than a hit-and-run poster.

wow!!!!
first let me send AGAIN my apologies to ziller. if you run site, that is a lot of work and i understand what you are trying to accomplish. with the risk of beating an extremely dead horse, if the post was suppose to go somewhere else, then fine. the point was just to say i hate the fact that i have to put a certain type of post in location “A” but if it is a different type of post the it needs to go to position “B’. nothing personal was intended, if it came across like that then i am sorry.
second, to LPA and Otis, a) otis, i like your posts, i respect the hell out of you and i think you give great insight. b) LPA frankly if you regularly post, i wouldn’t know. if i read anything from you before it hasn’t made that great of an impression on me. at least not like otis, or section or pookey. i’ve got no beef with either of you, but you both can down off of your high and mighty horses now. so the F what if i am just a hit and run poster. last i checked this was a public forum open to any and all comers. this was exactly my point with the first rant. when in the hell did open forum blogging turn into an upper class society where if you don’t follow these certain rules, then you get blasted? and then my second rant basically said who in the hell cares where the post in being put? yeah we should use proper grammar, but if we don’t you still have the right to either comment or not comment. much like this post. i am exercising my right to comment, but i am done after this. the original post, or diary or shout-out or whatever the hell it is suppose to be called was about JOSH FREAKING HOWARD!!!!! not about where this post should have gone (again Ziller i understand your point on this and an exercise in judgement on where the next post will go will be done). so for there to be this much attention paid to everything but the original message, really shows the lack of interest i the original post. maybe i am wrong (lord knows it ain’t the first or last time). for that i again (sigh) am sorry.
but, with the risk of turning this rebuttal into a pookey-ish lengthed essay (sorry pookey didn’t mean to drag you in if you see this, but if you do please see above props, i love your posts man) let’s just give this whole damn thing a rest. truce?

Dude
It’s really irritating to read stuff that should be posted elsewhere. That’s all.

Man I don't care if you use me as an example for anything
Because it can be argued I’ve represented many of the worst elements that permeate StR. That being said I have many problems with you posting this here too dude. It’s irritating, it’s too short, and it’s stated purpose works as a fan shot. (There is also a strong shot that it would have been moved to the front page since TZ likes these types of things but in short blurbs.)
Nobody is being a nazi or asking you not to post, or anything else. Ziller, LPA and Otis in some protective fashion, merely pointed out that Ziller is not another guy on this site. He was writing StR when there were 5 consistent commentors around here. He’s earned more respect than that.
Last but not least, Ziller’s point was that he had just made a point about the whole purpose of fanshot/posts. He would like to see better punctuation, among other things, from everyone. You just had very bad timing. I speak for me when I would like to see you post more often Cynema, but if you don’t, please don’t just put this stuff anywhere. It all has a point & purpose. (I use fanshots alot myself and it’s one of my favorite aspects of the new site. There are some small things I don’t like, but that’s a minor critique of the overall product.) Having said that this isn’t a place where people will tell you to shutup. You had relevant news to share. You just put it in the wrong place.
when in the hell did open forum blogging turn into an upper class society where if you don’t follow these certain rules, then you get blasted? This I got a problem with. Nobody said anything about such propriety or standards needing to be met. What everyone wants, me included Cynema, was to post this in the right spot.
I’m now finished with my thoughts on this subject. This annoys me more than I can say, but I don’t want to spend 3000 words explaining why. But the biggest reasons this annoys me is that StR is NOT a message board. In the words of Ziller it is: “A semi-professional blog that earns advertising dollars.”

I'm done with this too
But for some perspective, if I had mod control, and I don’t, I would have told you to re-post this is a fanshot and deleted it.

These are basketball players
Not necessarily super citizens. Still, when making the kind of money they make you would think they would keep their noses clean. Maybe it has the opposite effect making them think they are above the law. On the other hand, I don’t think Howard’s speeding ticket should be grounds for rejection.
Let he who is without sin cast the first stone, I guess.
