I guess only time will tell, and while I wouldn’t bet on it, I wouldn’t bet against it either. (I swear I don’t have a gambling problem. To prove it, I’d even give you 3:2 odds)

My guess would be that they are freeing up space under the tax and roster spots for one or both Sacramento second-rounders … or Carl Landry.

I would say they’re clearing space to take back Ewing Jr and keep on him on the roster for some reason. Maybe they think a role player like Ewing Jr who is a husting type would be more valuable than a shooting stand alone type like Novak. That’s my alone and single guess. And unless salary sites are wrong, and they always might be, the Rockets aren’t on the verge of the luxury tax like the Kings are. So, there are a multitude of probabilities. My guess is that August 14th holds the true answer.
