Effin' sweet

Finally we get something cool in Stockton other than big name musical acts such as Vicente Fernandez and Neil Diamond

I had no idea

That the Jewish Elvis came to Stockton. Was he rockin’ the jumpsuit?

Posting on StR at the library

Is getting to my brain and making it a bit mushed. (That and climbing among the boxes to get my shampoo and soap in my glorified cardbard box room.)

Sadly...

Latin Elvis is the only act that every turns a profit at the Arena. Yet the city STILL has yet to figure out that they need to cater events to the Latin community.

This rocks

These games were always fun in the 90s. I never understood why they stopped coming to Stockton. The article in the actual paper talks about setting up an annual preseason game in Stockton. It also talks about choosing the Spanos Center over the Stockton Arena because they weren’t sure they could sell out the Arena.

It should be at the Arena

The Spanos center is mostly bleachers. I would rather have a seatback myself.

Yeah but...

Another thing mentioned in the article was ticket prices. Holding the event in the Stockton Arena would have resulted in Arco Arena level pricing for an arena half the size. Considering that the biggest sporting event the arena’s held (the EliteXC show) resulted in only 44% of the attending audience having paid for their seats (not to mention it not being a sellout), the Spanos Center is a good move. I can only assume it’ll be cheaper, although ticket prices haven’t been announced yet.

Seems dumb

Why not just lower prices for the arena? Isn’t the arena making SOME money better than the arena making NO money? Maybe they’re afraid they’ll only sell 1,000 tickets no matter what, and it won’t look as bad in a smaller arena.

It is dumb

Trust me, this kind of stuff happens all the time in Stockton. Especially with downtown stuff and the Arena.
