Suffice it to say he'll appear higher on my FanHouse list, and the discussion will be more about his game than nickname.

Kevin Martin

In my opinion is the most underrated 2 guard in the NBA. No doubts, buts or whatever. His offensive skills are second only to Kobe Bryant and he doesn’t get the recognition he deserves.

I think offensively he’s better than T-Mac, Ray Allen and Ben Gordon just to name a few.

Kevin is just a guy you can build your team around offensively because of his efficiency, you can go to him for a bucket every time you need one. The Kings rarely have any problems putting points on the board and they can thank Kevin Martin largely for that.

BOOK IT!

Martin a swingman?

But this guy has it correct:

Allep says:
The most underrated part of Kevin Martin’s game is his ability to get to the free throw line. With blazing speed or a crazy handle, Martin has developed a knack for initiating contact on his drives through body leans and slight feints. Corey Maggette has a similar talent, but his is almost built on brute physical ability. Martin, on the other hand, just has a great sense of angles and how to get other players out of position so they are forced to foul. Plus, he sells all contact.

Sells all contact?

Selling the contact is like saying he flops, which I don’t see him doing too much. He genuinely gets defenders to make the contact

Kevin Martin is great and I wish he was on the Knicks

I agree that Kevin Martin is an underrated scorer. He averages almost 30 points a game when healthy, and with a very high shooting percentage. He has helped my fantasy teams the past few years.

If any of you still care about Ron Artest, you can vote for or against him at NBA Gauntlet, where he is matched up against Caron Butler.

Good article

And Kevin really does need another nickname, “K-Mart” is lame and obvious. Any suggestions?

How about “Hybrid” since he’s so damned efficient?

I know, weak.

Rocks are free, and slingshots easily stolen.

Nickname . . .

He’s got one: “Speed Racer”

I’ll remember that when I put him in a gauntlet. K-Mart can’t be his nickname because it belongs to Kenyon Martin.

Article was idiotic.

Kevin Martin at #49 behind Barnangi? Are you kidding.

What article?

Who’s listing Bargani above Kevin Martin? They’ve only gotten to Numbers 50, 49, and 48 so far.

still Swish Fan #1.

#6 scorer

But 49th best player? I’m not saying Martin is top 10, but 49 seems waaaaaaaaaaaay too low.

Yes it does

You have to think: every team has at least one star player and each one is probably somewhere on the list. Some teams have more than one. What I consider is how many of those guys I’d rather have over Martin and there aren’t 48 of them.

However, we have to keep in mind what Martin will do this year. Artest scored 20.5 ppg on 17 shots. Speed scored 23.7 ppg on 15 shots. Martin will definitely be getting some of Ron’s shots, which means even more points, which means next year these stupid lists will have no choice but to place him higher. As of now the only reason he makes it on these things at all is because some sports writers really love the guy but the vast majority only know what they hear from others. Not enough people are seeing him, and no nationally televised games this year doesn’t help either. But, if he cracks the top 3 or 4 in scoring this year they’ll get it.

Future marketing

Jason Thompson becomes a beast, you go back to the black uniforms, dress Thompson and Martin in “Men in Black” garb, and they become agents “J” and “K.” I guess that would make Theus “Zed.”
