Yeah, Kidd can't guard

Beno, Salmons or Martin. That’s a bad match-up for them.

Now Dallas may put Dirk on Brad when we’re on offense, since Brad plays more outside than JT.

Hard to say whose at fault for that kind of TO. Seems Brad ought to know better than to bounce a pass into traffic like that. When there are four or six hands all in reception area, mabe he ought to fake the pass and do something else.

Our team's defense

is effing terrible! Natt’s supposed to be teaching them the basics and some fundamentals right? Then how come our guys don’t jump to block a shot. Miller runs out to cover Dirk and just sticks his hand out? He’s lucky Dirk missed that. How hard is it to jump and put a hand straight up?

by thisismellow on Jan 11, 2009 8:28 PM PST up reply actions

Howard would be a good acquisition

His production has dropped and he doesn’t seem that happy to be in Dallas anymore. I’m not very high on Bass though.

by Deleran on Jan 11, 2009 8:31 PM PST up reply actions

i like him

but he would need to be re-signed after this year. i don;t think we’ll be making any of those sorts of decisions until after we draft Griffin:) the money doesn’;t match up on this trade anyway.

by thisismellow on Jan 11, 2009 8:35 PM PST up reply actions

They're about as good with Howard (13-10)

as they are without him (9-5), and his attitude is not as great as it could be. There’s also the issue of his off-season activities drawing unwanted attention. I imagine Dallas is entertaining offers. Dunno if we could together a good enough package, or that he’d like playing here all that much more.

we need a couple of teams to reach this realisation as the deadline approaches. we could really benefit from such teams becoming keen to make some big moves.

by thisismellow on Jan 11, 2009 8:55 PM PST up reply actions

There are several teams like this in the west

The most intriguing of which is Portland. They have some question marks at the PG and SF positions, and some young talent to send back. I don’t think they’d be interested in Udrih, but a deal involving Salmons wouldn’t be out of the question.

by Deleran on Jan 11, 2009 9:03 PM PST up reply actions

totally!

unfortunately we’re a little limited with our pieces, as it’s only really worthwhile making moves if we’re going to free up some room. therefore, a deal needs to include KT (as we all know by now!)

by thisismellow on Jan 11, 2009 9:07 PM PST up reply actions

5-8 playoff spots wide open in the West

4 spots, five teams.

6-8 open in the East, 3 spots, six teams.

If someone starts to fall out or if someone does fall out and goes into rebuild mode, all are potential targets.

Blake is pretty capable

and in crunch time they use a guy name Roy brionging the ball down. Works pretty well. Salmons would not be a good fit for them because they like to pass the ball.

So, this is how it feels to win? Had almost forgotten the feeling

I’m guessing after 5 close games we finally learned how to win and this one is sweet. We almost gave it away at the end…. again, but got a couple stops and rebounded when we needed to. Hope it;s a small turnaround for the team. I just want to win more games and not feel like everytime is a close game we are going to lose it. Confidence can do crayz things. Let’s build on this….

Missed the game but reading the box score

Beno is back. Looks like one of his better games and No turnovers.

Looked like Martin had a late forth quarter near meltdown again. Two turnovers at the end of the game. He will not become an NBA elite until he learns to be a closer.

Mikki played 5.5 minutes and had no stats other than one miss.

Williams was not even listed in the box score. Is he inactive now?

JT listed as highest in +/- at +13.
