Did Blazers try to re-sign Miles?
The Portland Trail Blazers tried to sign/stash Miles - but were blocked by league prior to sending threatening e-mail to other teams.

I apologize if this story has been referenced elsewhere
Interesting note at the end to quote Yahoo: “After Miles suffered a micro-fracture injury to his right knee in 2006, missing seasons, doctors representing the Blazers and NBA agreed that the damage was too severe for Miles to return. Still, Miles had insisted that he would try to come back to the NBA if the knee ever healed, and that’s exactly what happened.”
