Cisco Kid

Blazer Fan here. Not understanding why FG isn't getting more P.T? It would seem to me he is one of your better players, and maybe one of the few who can play "D". What is going on down in Sactown? Still some lingering injury rust?? The Kings actually remind me a lot of Portland from 3 years ago. Keep the faith- there is hope! You will probably have turned over 3/4 of the roster by then. Thompson looks like a keeper (and a pleasant suprise to some). Tough interior defense will be required to afford the luxury of mild outside pressure (KMart). Luck in the lottery will go a long way.

Good Luck. The Kings remind me of P-Town, in that we're both the only show in town. Keep your chin up, applaud the positive and the good effort, don't hesitate to chastise the underachieving efforts, and never accept less than the best from the players, coaches, and management. Fans CAN sway what happens to a large degree.

BTW, I did the bright purple uni's.. (and someone tell Vlade to go on Nutrisystem!)

Come back with your mock optimism

when Portland does damage in the playoffs. This is no pity party.

And for pete’s sake… “mild outside pressure”? What are you? A fortune cookie?

don't like getting advice

from a team which hasn’t been to the playoffs since the start of this millennium. It’s as sensible as a Laker fan posting “haha, you guys suck.”

The post claims to be concerned with Cisco, but there’s only two sentences about him with little explanation of why the author cares. Then he segways into his gloat session. Then he gives me advice on being a fan… like dude, if I’m on this website, then that means I’m a fan. So take your advice and shove it.

Rudeness.

mind you,

that’s the only thing this guy’s ever posted. He’s not on BE.

I’m not insulting all Portland fans. This guy’s just not all there. Your defense of him makes me wanna throw you in the same loop, especially with some of the other stuff you posted.

But I don’t understand why this was posted.

Attempting to answer

27 minutes per game off the bench has got to up there for 6th men, though I have not really checked (discountung “6th men” like Manu).

That said, his minutes would be even greater had he not been hobbling for most of the season.

He’s not as good as Martin, so he doesn’t get the start at the 2.

He may or may not be better than Salmons at the 3, but Salmons is worthless off the bench, so there you go.

And while he logs some time at the point, he’s not really a point guard.

When you're paying youre 6th man (and I know teams like Dallas are paying Jason Terry more)

Mid Level money, he better be getting minutes. Cisco is one of those glue players, that on a winning team is appreciated, and on a losing team, sort of falls by the wayside. Petrie, for one, and I’m glad, does know this.

Starting Point?

I rather see Cisco start at point until we make a trade.
Udrih backup PG,BJacks at backup SG,then give Green some MINS at SF!

I'd rather see Donte get mins

However, if he isn’t giving effort defensively, I find it difficult to believe that he would get much out of them.

Difference is that Donte may not have a place in the league with that type of mentality

As it is, it’s hard to imagine any team willingly signing MIller with the effort he’s currently giving. Although, it’s hard to imagine Brad playing that poorly when he’s into the game.

214 has it

with Pooks added point that on a winning team (even marginally) Cisco would probably be one of the fan favorites (to expand).

Hell, he’s that now.

Stars aren't the only ingredient to winning a championship

Everyone buying into a shared commitment is part of that, and how your role players do that is quintessential to doing so.

Ouch!

First dude to post was all over me like a Bum on a sandwich! So let me address the “concerns” of that guy, who musta had a bowl of cranky for breakfast!
1. No gloating whatsoever. Indeed, we HAVE NOT made playoffs in a long time. Wouldn’t gloat even if we had..
2. Garcia is on a team of mine, and seemed to be doing better last year. Yeah, I know, injury + rust this year, but he only got like 13 minutes the other night.
3. Have been reading Blazers Edge for awhile;however, just signed up last night to post on SB Nation, and as it turns out, SacTown Royalty is where I started. Will definitely be posting there in the future. Sorry to have inflamed you, but as an admitted outsider, I think I may have a point. The Kings biggest issue from what I can tell is no defense, on the ball pressure, etc. Seems like Garcia could help there. There’s seems to be plenty of guys who can put the ball in hopper..
4. I think Pookeys comment on being “a glue player” makes the most sense. Guess we’ll just see how it all plays out.

Gotta go. Big game against LeBron tonight at the RG!
