Sick of Martin

Drastic times call for drastic measures. I say if you can get something good for Martin--do it. He's not a leader or franchise player and it was stupid to try to build around him. He just doesn't have the frame, and it gets reallllllly old watching him always jump into people to try to get to the line. UGly, ugly ball. But he can shoot, so some team should give up something. Miller is a goner, but Salmons and Martin should also hit the road. Get a good point, good a good slasher or board man. Get something that makes this team fun to watch again. Damn. We got some good young players.

What's so great about Martin?

Martin = no defense playing, always hurting, whining for the call, scoring all my points at the line after major acting.
And this is our franchise face?
No wonder we suck.
This was his year to step up after Ron Ron left.
While his number look efficient, they don’t tell the whole story (i.e. can’t effect crunch time in games with any regularity, can’t finish at rim, etc.)

If there’s one thing Kings management routinely does is overestimate talent and write bad contracts.

He's not our franchise

And he’s not paid like a franchise player. He is paid like Robin, not Batman. He is the best player on the team. That is not his fault.

Martin is one of the most efficient socrers in the league, and he does not need a lot of shots to be productive. That is an important quality for a “2nd banana” to have.

Martin is not the solution for this team. But he sure isn’t the problem. You have about $36 million tied up in Miller, Thomas, ‘Reef and S.Williams, and you’re sick of Martin?

Give me a break.

100% correct

Remember, we’re supposed to grab a franchise player in 2009/2010. No need to make any rash changes right now in regards to our quality players. I just wish the Maloofs would tell KMart to get some plantar facheitus, if u catch my drift. Tank Mode all the way!!!

Agreed

Sometimes we get so caught up in how bad things are going that we start to think any change will be a change for the better. That is not the case. We do have a few good pieces and Martin is definitely one of them. He is a shotting guard and he plays that position very, very well. Name me one player on our team that plays his position better than Martin plays his.

This is exactly how I’ve been feeling. Thanks for putting it so eloquently and helping me rekindle my love for Kevin.

I want to see Kevin healthy first SB

He has not ever looked fully explosive pretty much all season SB.

At least you posted this in the right place

And to quote a great visionary of StR:

Umm – No.

I will say this, Kevin’s a young player, and needs to add something else to his game to separate him from the Michael Redd’s of the world. Either defense, rebounding, passing…something. But I’m willing to wait for him to get fully healthy before passing judgment that THIS Kevin Martin is the best Kevin Martin we’re going to see.

I understood

I fear that not everyone would get your subtlety. It was also, some snark, on the people dumping on Kevin.

I will take heat for calling him a punk Otis, but I felt that statement was as such. I do respect what Kevin is trying to do. Cisco is also playing hurt as well.

How many times

Will you have to curse Pookey for the novella he uses for a signature line?

I take offense at calling this a novella

It’s merely a long winded tribute. :)
