Rock Bottom ... Almost

The Wizards host the woeful Clippers tonight. A Washington win (the 'Zards are roughly 4.5-point favorites) would place Sacramento in sole possession of last place.

In the entire league.

Like I was saying

last night at the game …. BRING ON RICKY RUBIO!!!!

They've done studies, you know. 60% of the time it works, every time.

by shadow1480 on Jan 31, 2009 7:40 AM PST reply actions

Let the crickets dance

But at least Kevin Martin is awesome. He scores like 20 points at the line even when we lose by 20, 30, 70 …. Can’t even win ONE game against the East. Sweeeet.

And if the geniuses pick Rubio over Griffin … you deserve 2-3 more years of the cellar door.
Here’s a snapshot of the play by play: “Rubio stipped by Roy …. Rubio pickpocketed by Paul … Rubio stolen by Bryant …. Rubio stripped by Harris … Rubio throws it away … Rubio smushed by Parker … The lanky European, despite a good game against the U.S. team, does not seem to be faring well against the more athletic NBA guards, and once again, the Kings again are wondering, ’When will this nightmare season end??”

by VirginiaBlue on Jan 31, 2009 8:12 AM PST reply actions

We have two decent players we might as well draft Griffin,

so we can displace one of them. This makes so much sense my brain just exploded.

don’t know anything about Ricky’s game

by Matenja on Jan 31, 2009 8:46 AM PST up reply actions

if you're going to criticize Rubio's game..

….at least criticize the weaker parts of his game. Ballhandling and decision making are actually the stronger parts of his game.

by kingsfan300 on Jan 31, 2009 8:51 AM PST up reply actions

So is defense

Those are the 3 most common things you hear about him. That & the intensity and fire he brings to the game. Perhaps we should build a 10 foot high bonfire for Ricky, and stick lint from the dryer to it keeps burning through the concrete…….

Which is not the best way to evaluate him

Because the Olympics uses FIBA rules, and that’s a different style of play. Jes sayin….

I love when teams get so bad that fans actually start rooting for losses to get those higher draft picks. At a certain point, I’ll admit, I do as well, but in the NBA, you just improve your statistical odds of the ping pong balls landing on your number, but inevitably its still a craps shoot.

…In the end though, when your teams are as bad (Record Wise) as ours are, I guess all you can do is make light of it and try to laugh it off.

Looking forward to the all Important “Cellar Bowl” Tomorrow afternoon! Can’t get much better than watching the Thunder battle it out with another horrible team and then watch the Super Bowl Afterwords.

For both games I’m predicting….A DRUNKEN STOOPER!

Trust

I hate watching my team lose, and I know just cause you have the most ping pong balls doesn’t mean anything …. but it gives me something to be excited about!!!

Absolutely. When your as bad as our favorite teams are, you start to get excited about the draft pretty early on. I’m guessing the only reason it hasn’t hit Thunder fans so much is because of the good month we had in January, but with the tough schedule coming up in February, all thats going to be on Thunder fans minds this month is Trades/Draft.

For no other reason than prediction of a drunken stooper. Of course that prediction can also be applied to my watching The Soup or shopping at Safeway.

LMAO. Shopping at Safeway in a Drunken Stooper sounds quite fun. I do have a Warehouse Market within walking distance from the house, although in a drunken stooper I definitely wouldn’t make it there or back, perhaps a designated driver can help.

Something to keep in mind

Having great draft picks is important but so is the right coach. This Bulls team went deep into the playoffs just a couple years ago and then completely fell. They should be much better than this. This is why we need Petrie to select the right coach to develop the young talent. Coachie helps but we need a head coach to get it done. We don’t need a Vinny Del Negro who is going to turn our team into underachievers.

The Bulls were underachieving long before Vinne

He may or may not be any good, but I wouldn’t say he turned them into underachievers.

Very true

Let me correct that. We need a coach who is going to keep our team from becoming underachievers, not a Vinny Del Negro who will continue to allow them to underachieve

This year sucks

for me …. both a Kings and Cowboys fan … both teams play uninspired ball, and are totally underachieving. Lets hope the A’s change that!!

DFL

I’m tired of the Kings being bad but not bad enough to land a top draft pick. I WANT THE WORST RECORD IN THE LEAGUE THIS YEAR! If they’re not going to make the playoffs, shoot for the bottom. It’s not the best draft, but any #1 is better than what the Kings tend to get.

This season is over. The next few years are about rebuilding. You can’t rebuild without talent. The best talent doesn’t come at #10 or #12 in the draft.

So, Kings, keep losing. Keep doing what you’re doing. I fear sucking too much will turn fans away and stoke talks of Seattle or Las Vegas. But a good draft pick would be worth the short-term pain and humiliation.

Oh wait…I just had a flashback to Pervis Ellison. Oh no….

So very close...

…To embarrassment and humiliation that comes along with a team that has quit on it’s coach, it’s ownership, and most importantly its fans. Defense like I witnessed last night against the Bulls is offensive. The amount of money these young men are making should be reason enough to make a token effort against a bad team. The Kings are apparently going for the Big Loser role. They are doing a great job of convincing me and everyone else who is an NBA fan that the team is filled with selfish quitters who will never amount to anything. They haven’t lost making an honest effort since Reggie left. I am disgusted…

I have cut the Mouth and Nose out of my Paper Bag, but I am contemplating not cutting out any EYE HOLES so I don't have to watch this mess at all...
