What about this guy Stephen Jackson?
Rumor has it.....Stephen Jackson wants out of GS! What about sactown making a play on him? A lineup of Reke Havoc, Speed, and Jackson sounds quite intimidating. If Hawes and Thompson can put it together Sacramento would be vastly improved. Let's be honest, yeah sactown may be a player next offseason (as far as money go's ) but what is the true possibility of bringing in a big name to this small market? Bringing in Jackson, his intensity, attitude, all around skill, and energy might be what this team needs to compete for one of those last playoff spots. FREE JACKSON!

that bad?....
I don’t see Jackson as being that bad………KINGS must do something or where talking a 3-5 yr plan just to make playoffs or content for a 7th or 8th seed….not this yr….not next…..prob not the next either…….There is no real chance of a big signing next year either..possibly Amare? That’s about as big of a name we have a chance at. Still just Amare added to this bunch wont do much good…..

Why no?
He is demanding to be traded after negotiating his new deal. Why would he be any happier here than at Golden State?
He is a very inefficient scorer (lifettime FG% of under 42%).
Not a particularly gifted rebounder at SF, averaging less than 4 per game for career. Averaged 5 per game last year in GS’s up-tempo game.
He turns 32 before the season is over.
He has thrown Golden State under the bus – the team captain publicly demanding a trade, thereby reducing GS’s chance of getting anything resembling fair value for him. See Davis, Baron while he was in New Orleans, or Carter, Vince while he was in Toronto. Classless.

Yuck!
Perhaps the five worst contracts in the NBA today –
Gilbert Arenas – 5 yrs., $96.3 million
Elton Brand – 4 yrs., $70 million
Baron Davis – 4 yrs., $53.8 million
Corey Magette – 5 yrs., $45.5 millon
Stephen Jackson – 4 yrs., $35.4 million
So I will say that I would probably have Jackson than Arenas, Brand, Davis and Magette. That leaves only abot 350 players that I would rather have than Stephen Jackson.

Nocioni for Jackson
With Garcia out for at least four months, I’d trade Nocioni for Jackson’s 6 plus assists a game with out even thinking about it. though, I would hope to flip him before the trade deadline— something like Jackson and K-9 for Kirilenko— but until Garcia comes back the kings could use a player who can help Tyreke, as long as he doesn’t take the rookie out to shoot up strip clubs parking lots.
by jctar on Oct 11, 2009 1:05 AM PDT reply actions 0 recs
Clever idea
But no thanks. Jackson is unhappy in Golden State because he is not the lead dog (even though he is team captain) and because the Dubs are not a playoff team. He would be at least as unhappy here. His could be potentially untradeable by the deadline, and there is no way Jerry Sloan and the Utah Jazz (for example) take on a head case like Capn’ Jack.
I would rather deal Nocioni at the deadline for expiring than take the chance of being saddled with Jackson for the next several years.
And 1 – Jackson, Marbury, Iverson, Baron Davis, Zach Randolph – these are the last guys that I would want around a young core of players.

You realize what Jackson's doing right?
He’s refusing to play till he gets traded. Two technical fouls in 3 preseason games, and the last game he played he had 5 PFs in 9 minutes. He’s pulling a less passive-aggressive Vince Carter stunt.

Anyone else noticing how ridiculously good the Clippers could be in a year?
Next year they will have all these players under the age of 29 either under contract or in a good position to be resigned:
Bassy Telfair
Eric Gordon
Al Thorton
Blake Griffin, Craig Smith
Chris Kaman, DeAndre Jordan
As well as Baron Davis at the PG slot. That’s a great team. Add to that a likely lottery pick, and if I was in the market for an NBA team right now, I’d be trying to buy the Clippers.
Also, DeAndre Jordan might become my Fesenko. That would be a fantastic pick-up if the Kings could swing it.

The Clippers have cap room in 2010
I think LeBron has 4 places he’ll likely end up. The most obvious choice is Cleveland because they can offer him more years and money than anyone else.
The 2nd most likely place is the Nets because of the impending move to Brooklyn.
The 3rd most likely place is the Clippers because of their young talent and need at SF.
I think the Bulls have a minute outside shot of the Nets/Clippers, but that’s me. LeBron looks at his brand differently, and he may try to bring a hapless franchise back to life. Whether that’s going to the Clippers or Nets, who knows?
Either way, I think the LeBron sweepstakes aren’t that interesting because he will want his money. He’ll get that in Cleveland.

I think LeBron's best chance for a Dynasty
is going to New Jersey.
Harris, Lee, LeBron, Probable lotto pick PF or Yi Jianlian (bleh), and Brook Lopez. That’s good stuff.
Clippers would be a good spot too. The endorsement deals he’d get in LA would be unreal. The Clippers would end up being more popular than the Lakers, especially as Kobe and the rest of the team get older.

The reason I like Fesenko so much
is because he’s a quality guy who’s stuck on a team that happens to be solid at his position. Meanwhile, we’re very weak at said position, only really having a Starter. DeAndre Jordan would be an even better pickup than Fesenko in my opinion, but the chances of the Clippers dealing Jordan are minute, especially with Camby being an expiring contract.

I don't want Jackson, but...
After listening to how bad things have gotten with Stephen Jackson and the Warriors, I began wondering if the Kings could somehow profit from this situation. Now, I realize that Jackson is a knucklehead, but he is also a talented player. His 3 point shooting and defense would work well on the Kings; however, his contract is terrible at 4 more years and 36 million (and he’s 31 years old).
The question, to me, is why has he all of a sudden demanded a trade? If this is a situation where he only wants to be on a winning team and doesn’t want to be on a rebuilding squad, then it might not be a good fit. However, I am guessing there is more to the story. Don Nelson has a way of rubbing players the wrong way (he’s currently on the outs with Jackson and Montae Ellis), and the last time we traded for a player Nelson gave up on, it worked out pretty well.
Even more importantly, I would love to get Anthony Randolph in the deal. If we were to package Beno and Donte Greene for Randolph and Jackson, I would do the deal in a heartbeat. I would take back salary and a malcontent if we could get AR.
