And now for something completely different: Kings alum, Ron Artest sings Celine Dion with Filipinos.

I'm no expert, but
That can’t be good for the street cred.

Waking up to this
Is like the morning I woke up to my daughter screaming. I went downstairs to find out what was wrong, and she said, “There was a mouse in the dog’s dish. I didn’t see it until I picked it up. Now the mouse is in the house.”
On my birthday.
Disgusting and disturbing.

It's just a mouse.....

No it wasn't.
It was the smartest mouse in the world.
That thing could lick the peanut butter off of a trap without setting it off. A few times he set it off and then took the peanut butter.
Took me a month to catch him.

Really?
I guess I’m just a hater, ‘cause this just makes me oh, so happy that he’s no longer a King. I just hope the Phillipino with the nice voice was worth the loss of cred and the assumed conflict with his wife.

We don’t have to worry about him corrupting our team anymore.

very true - if Artest was still a King, I would not enjoy this at all.
But now that he isn’t, this is great. I also love Stephon Marbury as long as he isn’t wearing purple and black.

This makes me love Ron, and it makes me love that he is no longer a KIng.

absolutely, he’s always doing something quirky, and is probably the most “real” in response to media questions than anyone. He randomly called into Carmichael Dave’s show the other night and was just being goofy and pretty hilarious the whole time. It was fun to listen to him being his goofy self rather than being completely robotic and cliche like most athletes are with the media all the time.

If he's karaoking Celine Dion
That’s the first sign I don’t need to watch this.

Should’ve definitely thrown a full beer at him.

I just think it's awesome
that it’s now impossible for Ron Artest to do anything surprising anymore. If this was a video of any other athlete singing karaoke in some Phillipino family’s living room, there would be a chorus of “WTF!?!?!?” comments.
Ron could break into the Vatican, take a dump in his hand and throw it at the Pope, and maybe a week later someone would take the time to put up a fanshot saying “Hey, did you guys here Ron chucked a turd at the Pope?”
Ron Artest, you magnificent crazy bastard.

Awesome - period.
Wonder if he ate any adobo that day.

I cook a mean adobo.
Most Filipino kids are taught how to cook as soon as we’re as tall as the stove.

Cool. Try using some coconut milk in dinuguan too.
That’s how they do it in the Bicol region.

Do you just add it in or is it a substitute for some other ingredient.
I’m gonna have to try this, it sounds pretty good (for Dinaguan too).

After you do the reduction - add the coconut milk.
Some recipes online say to add the coconut at the start.

As someone who is half-filipino
I can attest that this is usually how people sing karaoke during a party.
Ron-Ron has guts, I’ll give him that.

Um...Ron, keep your day job...
That was pretty poor karaoke right there. I am no master at Karaoke, but that seemed pretty poor right there. Don’t mean to be no hater, but even Celine Dion would probably come out and say that is pretty bad. Good thing he’s tall and can score in the NBA.
Another year, another chance to hope for the team !!

Hilarious
Great PR stuff for his reputation though. He has this “I will beat you down if you cross me reputation” that gets him all kinds of technical for little reason.
A few more stupid idiot moments like that and it might just cut his technical foul calls in half this year. Definitely came across and a harmless dork.
He better pay his PR guy extra for that one.

ron, ron...
the dude is special in a good kinda way.
dude goes broke his first year in the league because he gave most of his money to his fam and friends. dude applies to circuit city (i think that’s the one) because he wanted the discounts. and still remember a few years back when ron had 49 points in a game, but he decided he did not want to go for 50 points because “mike was saying you gotta get 50; i (ron-ron) majored in math at st. john’s and that makes no sense; if i scored a bucket, that’s two points so 50 would be impossible to get; that’s 51! that makes no sense.” he actually meant what he said too. love the dude.
"When talent is roughly equal," said Westphal, "the competitive guys win. You have to have that in this league. Here's a perfect example: We (the Phoenix Suns) drafted Tim Perry and Dan Majerle the same year (1988). Now, if you get a stopwatch for down and back (baseline to baseline sprint), Tim Perry was faster than Dan Majerle. That's a fact. But if you had them race, Dan Majerle won. I can't explain it. Somehow, he had that drive, that fire, something inside him. If you have enough guys like that, your team starts winning again."

Kings Alum
I kind of love (and am partially humiliated) by the implication in the phrase “Kings alum” that one graduates from the Kings and moves onto a real team. YOUR ‘09-’10 KINGS: SORT OF LIKE A COMMUNITY COLLEGE.
