Obviously its just preseason (we get it Pookey) and its just a highlight reel
But I have no problem watching this team of youngsters play and learn, even if they aren’t winning a whole lot. There were a lot of little things in there that we have to look forward too and I’m very happy with the direction of this team

LOL. Exactly.
I’m thinking this is what Sonics Thunder fans went through last year once things got settled.
October 28th couldn't come soon enough.
awesome
I went to the kings game and i am very excited about Tyreke, Kmart, Cisco, JT, Hawes and Casspi. Hopefully we can catch lightning in a bottle with Sean May and it would be nice to see Donte make some progress. Great bunch of guys and with another to 5 pick coming next year along with plenty of money to spend in next years deepest FA period ever, we could have quite the squad come this time next year. Chris Bosh or Amare please come to sac-town!! Add one of those two and we would have 3 interchangeable bigs!
Loved seeing that. Thanks a heap!
I’m hoping all that wonderful ball movement is a combination of a lack of Warriors’ defense and the steady improvement of the Kings’ offense.
Really dug that ’Reke dish to JT.

I dug the JT pass to Speed from the high post
People are talking a bit about his 20/20, but they’re forgetting he had 5 dimes too.
No mistakes in the tango, darling. Not like life. Simple. That's what makes the tango so great. If you make a mistake, and get all tangled up, you just tango on.....
Maybe the they should run public service announcements- starring Francisco Garcia and Sean May (as the expected mother), warning of the dangers of big blue balls. -- JJham15 10/13/09
I didn't even really notice them at the game
I was sort of amazed when I saw the box score.

That's probably cuz they were to jump shooters

Pass the gravy
Yeah, lots of great passing leading up to those scores. Just one preseason game, but i don’t remember seeing the Kings do that much passing last year. Its good to see them working as a team.
That Donte to Spencer to Jason play was especially nice.
put me in, Coach
Ha, they showed Spencer's pump fake and drive
That was embarrassing.

The ball movement looked really good from the, uh, highlight reel.
That’s very nice to see, especially the high post action like were used to seeing along with the dribble drives and strong finishes that we really aren’t.
Looking at the box: We out rebounded them 56-38, 18-9 offensive. Also, we had 11 blocks—3 from JT, 2 from Hawes. I don’t believe we have seen such a high bloch total for a long time. We turned over the ball alot, as the Warriors always get their steals: We had 24 TOs on 10 GS steals.
Now to take it one step too far—How many 20-20 games will JT have this season? Also, and this is meant to be a credit to Reke than a slight on Hawes—In how many games will our PG (Reke) out-board our center (Hawes)? (I know that didn’t happen this game—just wondering).
Cool highlights. I know it’s a preseason game against the Warriors, and I guess it’s only natural as the team comes together—but I think this is the most excited I have been about this team.
What impressed me in part about this game
Is that while JT obviously out-boarded everybody by a long shot, Spence and Biedrins were at a dead heat rebounding in the same amount of time. (There were Warrior fans who were said Biedrins didn’t board as well as he normally does. I doubt that.) Biedrins, if you take his rebounds per 48 mins, rebounded at a rate of 15.36. Hawes, rebounded at a per 48 min rate of 18. JT? (22.32 per 48)
No one else in the game even came close who played more than 10 mins. (Other people did have high rebounding rates in limited mins. May & Brockman were the only other 2 with high rebounding rates other than JT, Spence & Reke.)
Anthony Randolph? 6.4 boards per 48. (Jackson played all 48 mins and grabbed 7 boards). If you told me that Corey Maggette would have had the 2nd best board rate on anybody on the Dubs, I would have told you you were full of shit. Yet, at 14 boards per 48, Maggette did.
That’s why the Dubs got beat on the boards. They didn’t have anybody on the level of JT, and Spencer was slightly better than Biedrins on the better who was slightly better than Maggette. It’s true the Dubs are hardly demon boardmen in their own right, but the Kings are not necessarily considered a strong rebounding team. I think if this pre-season has shown one trend, this team has gotten better at rebounding because Spence, JT are better than they were a year ago, and the other players off the bench and surrounding those 2 are far better rebounders per 48 that Sac has had since the Brian Grant-Michael Smith era.
Me likey.

Dynamic Duo
JT had 16prt and 14rebound in the first half. He played the entire 1st half along side Hawes, who played all but 30sec of the 1st. Both reentered the game at the 7min mark of the 2nd quarter. All of JT’s 1st half pts & rebounds came while playing with Hawes.
JT got only 2 of 18 rebounds thru the 3rd while Hawes was out. So, only 4 of his 20 rebounds where without Hawes. And, JT got his only two baskets of the 2nd half, in the 4th while Hawes was out.

I still think the most interesting stat of last night is JT's 5 assists
I didn’t see many of them (although I could look up the play by play I suppose), but the one to Kevin was spectacular.
I think the difference between JT & Spence is this: Spence has a lot of offensive skills but not a ton of polish or coherence from one play to the next. But Spence has moves. JT does have quite a bit of offensive skills and polish, but doesn’t have the moves. That’s what makes them so intriguing as a duo IMO.

After looking at the PBP
One assist was to Speed at the beginning of the game. 1 assist was to May and Greene on their layup’s. One other was to Martin on his layup that made the NBA.com highlight reel. The last assist was to the 3 that Omri hit to break the 82 82 tie.
Yeah, that may be the part of this game that truly stands out from JT’s perspective.

I love JT
but 20/20 isn’t easy i’d say maybe once if not none at all but he will hav alot of 12+ rebound games witch is all-star level anyway

Would it be buzzkill to tell you that Ailene Voisin was the first person I can remember saying that

The highlight reel was nice, but
it did not show Reke’s ability to get to the rim at will. He did get blocked a few times but it was nice to see him drive to the basket like a man. Another thing that the real didn’t show was that Stephen Jackson guarded Reke most of the second half which put Murrow or Curry on Martin. As as result Martin abused those two, especially Curry. Seeing the game live really showed me the matchup problems theat Reke presents at the offensive and defensive ends of the court.
Question: Can anyone tell me why there were 5 or 6 defensive 3 second calls on the Warriors? Is it partly attributable to the matchup problems that Reke presents or is it part of Nellie’s defensive schemes?
Biedrins, Randolph and Pruitt
were the main causes of those 3 second calls.

I don't know, it was usually away from the ball
So I didn’t pay attention until the whistle blew.

Same here
I don’t ever remember seeing that many illegal D calls in one game, but I wasn’t really aware of the infractions until the whistle blew. Still, I think you can kind of infer that the big guys were camping in the lane for fear of Reke and K-Mart smoking their defenders, esp. when the Dubs were using their guards on them. Ellis, Curry, and Watson looked like smurfs (mis)matched up against Freke and Speed.

I think your right
And it is nice to see our team get some extra chances at scoring on those technicals. I hope its indicitive of our thoughts that Reke causes others to camp in the lane because if that is the case the other teams will pay one way or the other.
