Evans is the latest to grow tired of Nocioni's style. Pretty chippy between the two.
Sam Amick.
Could somebody translate this for me please? Both literally - what should 'chippy' exactly mean - and in terms what might be going on there?
Comments
Chippy
is likely arguing back and forth. A heated exchange. It could also mean coming close to fighting. Just angry and yelling a bit.

Anyone just catch Kingstalk on 1140?
Coach T said he was at practice and Nocioni and Tyreke got into a fight, and Nocioni also got into with somo other players

Style means defense maybe?
Chapu is probably guarding a little too tight in practice, and Evans wants him out of his face.

Anyone a little surprised that Tyreke would be getting a little chippy and frustrated with somebody?
To me it just doesn’t seem like his style. Dude’s so quiet I can’t picture him getting very angry, let alone expressing it

On the court, Tyreke's actually pretty vocal at times.

All I've got on this is a big What the fuh...?
His style? What does that mean? Chippy? Who else has been upset with Noc? What the hell happened man? Be specific. Was this a “tweet?” A journalist should be very careful how he uses twitter.

Noce is beating up on the rookie in practice, getting physical
and the rookie doesn’t like it.

nothing but positives
they’re going at it in practice. i see nothing but positives.
"When talent is roughly equal," said Westphal, "the competitive guys win. You have to have that in this league. Here's a perfect example: We (the Phoenix Suns) drafted Tim Perry and Dan Majerle the same year (1988). Now, if you get a stopwatch for down and back (baseline to baseline sprint), Tim Perry was faster than Dan Majerle. That's a fact. But if you had them race, Dan Majerle won. I can't explain it. Somehow, he had that drive, that fire, something inside him. If you have enough guys like that, your team starts winning again."

Or..
Nocioni complaining about not getting the ball.
or
Nocioni complaining for calls to non-existant refs
or
Nocioni clotheslining him after getting blown by Tyreke off the dribble for the 15th or 20th time
Who knows?

but “Hello, cat” is funnier.
I like Chippy as a nickname for Noci.

Has nothing to do with your post. It just popped into my head. I second Chippy.

The important word isn't chippy, *it's latest*
So, who else has had problems with Noc? Is Noc still unhappy, but now he’s taking it out physically or verbally with his teammates. Maybe, his comments in the newspaper last year were just the tip of the iceberg.

Noce has a rep for playing hard, even during practices.
I remember Bulls players like Tyrus Thomas and Luol Deng saying Noce plays with the same intensity all the time, whether it be Game 7 or 1st day of practice. I figure they got the brunt of it.
That being said, I have been guilty of yelling at my teammates to ease up during our practices (I play in an advertising league). There’s no use in getting banged up by teammates when your opponents are willing to do that, right (also, I need two eyes and, at the very least, one hand to present to clients).
So maybe Noce gave Reke a hard foul as he drove to the basket in practice. Reke might have gotten mad at Noce for that. Also, easy to understand.
The thing is, Bill Cartwright and Horace hated Michael Jordan so much that they actually threatened him with bodily harm…but they still won 3 championships. Hopefully Noce’s antics do not distract the team.
