Spencers low post game will mature some, with experience alone. It’s debateable whether Truck can help his rebounding. If you watch Spencer, he sometime just screens off the other center and let’s his teammates control the rebounds, or he plays away from the basket alot and isn’t in position to rebound.
JT needs to bring something new. Cleaning up on the offensive boards and a midium range jumper, were affective last year, but he needs a go to move to make him dangerous away from the rim. And, he must learn how to avoid fouling, which is a nice way of saying he needs a dramatic improvement in man D.
I know people hate it when Donte shots a 3, but we are a horrible 3pt shooting team, just like last year. We really need Omri & Donte to have a breakout year, at the 3. We need their height and athleticism on the front line. They’re our only chance to get improved defense & offense in the paint.
I’d love to say that Tyreke will have a breakout year. But, even before the preseason, I thought that the team needed him to penetrate and dish more that score. My stat of choice is that he works up to a 10/10 PG. And, depending on how quickly, the coaching staff can improve his jumpshot, maybe a 15/10 guy (wishful thinking I know). But, this team needs a playmaker & a another scorer, and I think he’ll have a tough time being both this 1st year.
May will have a mediocre year if he’s forced to play center. Brockman in limited minutes will prove to be a shorter version of JT, a cleanup guy with limited offense who hands out painful fouls.
Sergio is the guy I think is capable of the biggest improvement over last year. He already has the speed and handle to run the offense, he just needs to improve his shooting. I haven’t seen enough of him to know if a major improvement is even possible. But, having that pure playmaker that we wanted from the draft, would go a long way in settling down our young core.
