Pual's Problems...

Teams come out too comfortable, ready to score.  They are not at all afraid of losing so they shot with the utmost comfortable.

You couple that with the fact that the Kings once again start a game with no offensive direction (problem for multiple seasons!), and it is a receipt for disaster.  The Kings were down big time by the end of the 1st quarter.

There is a problem when JT posts: he is the best weak side rebounder in the league--he needs to constantly crash the weak-side boards.  And they also get in trouble when Martin too early in shot clock.  He cannot create his own shot (he has yet accept this), and he eats up valuable time probing the defense with out affect.

Evans can't pass or shoot!!! PROBLEM!!!  His entry passes and set up passes are very sloppy, and he is not a great creator of facilitator by any stretch of the imagination (Martin is also a weak passer--problem!).  Evans will only excel in certain offensive styles: one where he can push the ball to the hoop at every opportunity (think Phoenix and NY); or an offensive that will post up him constantly (think Mark Jackson and the Pacers). They Kings made no considered effort to get him the ball in the post.

Hawes is too important not to start!  He is too talented to be treated like any old player in their offensive system.  We need to see what he has.  He forces shots because he does not get the ball nearly enough.  It is a shame the we never will know how good he could be if the entire team would try to get Spencer good shots, or if they ran things through him like they did with Miller (Hawes gets about 4-5 such opp.per game--needs to be much more).  Also we need to see if Hawes and JT can play together.  This is the biggest problem with the Kings going forward.  They are both true power forwards.  One has to go for a true center.  Which one?

THE KINGS SHOULD DEVELOP INSIDE OUTSIDE GAME WITH EVANS AND HAWES--EVANS POSTING HAWES PASSING!!!!  GET IT TOGETHER PAUL!!!!!!!!!!

Man, I'm sorry

I couldn’t get past the misspelling of Coach Westphal’s name, or the tremendous irony of your own handle having the word “knowledge” misspelled.

I will read this later, okay?

I agree

Game after game after game of this nonsense is hard to bear.

What, it’s only been one game? I swear from reading the site today we must be at least to the All-Star break.

What the hell is Brett Favre doing here?

And the Play Station NBA Live 2009 Tournament also counts

I played with the Kings and let me tell you every opponent was coming out fired up and ready to score. it was ugly.

I wasn't too impressed with how Sam Amick said anything either

I don’t expect sunshine, but balance, geesh, I guess I do ask for. Oh well.

Well, it has been a while

Since we had a post like this.

So, let’s go through it again for SK.

Guideline #1- Never post on the day you discover StR. Join. Read. Comment. Learn.

Guideline #2- Never end your post with a primal all-caps scream. If you didn’t make your point in the text of your post, then screaming it at us is unlikely to persuade or impress.

Guideline #3- Proof read at least your title. Spelling the coach’s first name damages your credibility almost beyond repair. Spelling your own screen name wrong clinches it.

Not that we don’t love new people (with fava beans and a nice chianti) but we really love people who get it.

The draft lottery has reinforced my belief that there are not enough bad words in the English language.

Question for Straight Knowledge

Are you saying Spencer Hawes is not a center? Of course he is. He may not be a very good center right now, or a classic low post center, but he is a center. He is a 7’1" dude. He is certainly not a true power forward. Do you want to see Hawes try to check a player like David West or Amare Stoudamire. No chance. Hawes is better off against the less athletic big men he will face at the center spot.

And Tyreke is a good passer. He is intelligent with the basketball. He makes the low risk play, and has natural instincts for when and where to deliver the ball. Don’t quit on these guys yet, there are 81 more to go.

After reading this,

I wanted the 2 minutes I spent trying to decipher it back.

Can I sue? I’m calling my lawyer to see if I have a case.

One game, however awful, does not define a season. We’ve got a new coach and a bunch of rookies that have never player together before. Lets hold off on the “lets blow up the team”, until we have at least 20 games under our belts.
