Three Kings Make NBA All-Star Game Ballot
None of the three -- Kevin Martin, Spencer Hawes and Jason Thompson -- will make the actual game, though Martin had a shot as a reserve before the injury. No Tyreke Evans on the ballot. The NBA fears the Martin Indonesia effect.

Bah Evans might have an outside shot (he's a lock for the rookie game)
if he keeps putting up numbers the way he has. At worst, the buzz he generates by being a high level rookie should put the Kings on the map in terms of the AS game.
Oh well. I hate All-Star weekend. I’d rather the NBA not play any games and not expect us to tune in at any pont for 4 days. It’s nice to have that break. Oh well.
No mistakes in the tango, darling. Not like life. Simple. That's what makes the tango so great. If you make a mistake, and get all tangled up, you just tango on.....

Damn I should have edited the line about being a high level rookie
What I mean he might generate buzz for himself the same way Brandon Roy did even though it was easy to say he should have been an All-Star. (I think the NBA should put 15 guys on the all-star roster myself.)

I like the all-star game
And the rookie game. I also like when Magic Johnson is announcing the dunk contest and inevitably says “All-Star Weekend is back!” I think it’s been like 7 years in a row now that it’s “been back.” Although everyone knows the dunk contest has sucked since Vinsanity.

I think Dwight Howard’s dunk contest hyjinx has been pretty awesome.

Word. He should have won last year. Meh on Kryptonate.

Are you dumb?
Fred Jones’ dunks were absolutely marvelous!

Agreed. We'll see if Bron Bron will actually do the dunk contest.
It’s sad the days of stars participating in the dunk contest are over. I still say ’Nique defeated MJ in the Chicago dunk contest.
33 Wins. Yeah, I said it.

All-Star Weekend is always entertaining now-a-days
Rookie-Sophmore game is full of alley-oops and sick dunks. D12 has single handily resurrected the dunk contest – if LeBron does it, OH MY. And KMart might even be in the 3pt contest this year round (if he’s down).
Screw you Knicks! LBJ to the Kings!!!

I want OMRI
on that rookie team as well. If so we’d have the opportunity for three players in the soph/rookie challenge.
Tyreke and Omri vs JT.
…aspirations of representation.
If yr not happy with the results, lower yr expectations.

he’d be in too.

Whose the last Kings rookie to make it to the Rookie or Sophomore Teams? It seems the team gets shutout on those rosters too.
Agree on hating the All Star weekend, haven’t paid attention in years even when the Kings were good.

I wouldn't read too much
into Evans not being in the ballot.
It’s very rare (I can’t remember any sincerely) that a rookie make the All-Star team. For example, LeBron & Melo (who had far more visibility than Reke) didn’t play in the All Star game on their rookie season.

Yao Ming in 2003...
Y’all forget that people (i.e. China) can vote for whoever they want, not that I think he deserved it, ever…

Is Yao on the ballot?
Because if he is, he’ll probbaly be voted starter for the West

Ha
I think China will write him in as a starter even if he is not on the ballot.

Yeah
Just checkes and he’s not listed so he’ll be a write in

The NBA would be thrilled
Because that means they can name a player more deserving instead.

No I mean someone who can play in the AS game
But the NBA would love that fans in China would vote Yao in.

Yi woulda made it
but the NBA purposely didn’t list him his rookie year, fearing he’d make it over an actually talented player.

The Last Rookie to make the All-Star team was Grant Hill (I think)
It’s happened multiple times before. Michael Jordan did it. David Robinson did it. Shaquille O’Neal did it. Grant Hill did it. (Kobe Bryant as a 19 year old, and 2nd year in the league, made it because the fans voted him in. A lot of people said he shouldn’t have been there.)
But, you’re absolutley right Panzer that it’s not uncommon for rookies to not be in the AS game.

Allen Iverson is on the ballot.
That is awesome.
by BucksForever on Nov 10, 2009 11:46 AM PST reply actions 0 recs
Yeah
if he will be on the all star team as the sixth man he will refuse to play because he will never be a sixth man. And the worst part is that he won’t be able to talk tith the All-Star team’s coach even if the coach is on the room next to AI’s.

he need more time
It’s only been 6 games….at least wait till we are 20 games in. IF k-speed can come back on fire, he has a chance, Reke will be on the Rookie team if he does half of what he has been doing…

I cna only vote objectively for the East Roster
But, my East all stars… I no longer care that much about winning.
Arenas, Wade, James, Bosh and Howard
BOOK IT!

My non-homer picks if I had to make non-homer picks...
EAST:
G D-Wade
G Rajon Rondo
F Chris Bosh
F LeBron James
C Brook Lopez
WEST:
G Brandon Roy
G Deron Williams
F Carmelo Anthony
F Kevin Durant
C Amare Stoudemire
So hard to pick between CP3, B-Roy, Nash, Manu and Deron. Crazy. You know douche mamba will get his share of tard votes but oh well. It’s already been pointed out but the quality in Centers is definitely in the East. Funny how Amare plays more like a 4 and Timmy plays like a 5. I would look forward to this game if these were the actual lineups.

That's how the ballot is...don't get it twisted. It's not meant to be taken literal...besides it's an all-star game.
It could be B-Roy and Kobe in the backcourt for the fans care.
