The Trade Block
Ok so it has already started, rumors of possible trades and will continue until the deadline. I have a feeling we will be hot with trade talk until the deadline or until a couple trades go down. So the question is this what things would you like or hope to see? Who do you consider untouchable? Who would you like to see dumped? Who's in the middle? Why? Possible trades and what the can do for us.
Let me start with my views on the current roster.
Don't want to see traded at all: Evans, JT, Omri, Greene
For a very quality player or Included in a deal that gets a top 5 pick: Martin, Garcia.
For the right deal: Hawes (though i'd like to keep him i think he can turn out to be a fine player in the league the right skill set to a talented 3 man front court rotation but we still need one more to complete that.)
Everyone else pretty much fair game
And players id like to see gone by the deadline: K9, Nocioni. (k9 is a valuable trade asset letting him come off the books at the end of the year probably wont be as valuable since we wont land a free agent so use the trade chip while we have it. And Nocioni probably best to keep him till closer to the deadline when we have Kmart / Cisco back but id like to see him gone hopefully for something decent though probably not much.
Possible trades that sound good? Ill add some later after playing with trade machine, what about you guys?

I say we trade for Starvin Marvin
He’s still raw, but eventually he’ll put on weight.

Trade Martin
okay, I am on the crackberry and cannot look salries, but would love to get okafor for KT if we could trade martin for a high draft pick and expiring contract. He is a GREAT scorer and that is it, 2’s are easy to come by, bigs are not. Frisco is a good backup, and someone will want Noc next year after casspri and donte get some seasoning.

Anyway, it was Dwight, Reddick and some other white dude for Martin, Nocioni, and Hawes.
The trade adds +3 to the Kings, -22 to the Magic… LOL

Alright, now for a slightly more realistic one:
K9 to the Knicks for Chandler, Jeffries and Douglas.
The Knicks get an extra 8 mil for next year, and they get to dump Jeffries. We get Chandler, who doesn’t suck. Jeffries pads the bench a little bit, and worst case scenario, all three of the Knicks players expire after next season.

I like Chandler
But I don’t like Jeffries. Plus the Kings don’t have the roster space to make this trade at the moment. I think I’d rather have K-9 expire than do this trade, mainly because Omri and Donte could both end up being better than Chandler.

+1 on the Omri/Donte better than Chandler
Plus New York has very few assets at the moment.

I'm thinking that Donte in the future would be more helpful as a PF,
and when I see Omri, I imagine a Jewish Manu. So then we would have two interchangeable talented SF’s, a skinny (but good-sized) backup PF with SF-esque skills in Donte. We get some potential out of the trade in Chandler, and worst case scenario, we drop all of them in 2011 to resign our young players.
But it’s all conjecture, because it would probably never happen since Chandler is one of the only 4 quality players that the Knicks have on their roster (Thornton, Robinson, Lee and Chandler). Just throwing out ideas, because I got rained out of work today, lol

I think he means Marcus Thornton (not Al Thornton) of the Hornets
Tom lives near Hornets country, and Thornton’s named is mentioned a lot. Not sure how he got Thornton confused with anyone on the Knicks roster though.

I honestly have no idea why I mentioned Thornton either...
I was referring to Al Thornton for some reason… I guess I must be really tired.
But yeah, Gallinari would be more fitting for that list than Al, regardless.

Lebron's a chucker
and Boobie’s not a point guard. We really should go after that young Utah player, the one what’s-his-face is always raving about who fits a position of need… Eric Maynor. I honestly think if we offer up Martin, we can get Maynor without giving up any picks.

I doubt it
Utah would probably want Kevin Martin, Tyreke Evans, and Ziller for Maynor.

Sidenote
I support a thread like this. I think there should just be a running fanpost with everyone’s latest zany trade ideas. Why not? It gives us all a forum to participate in the guilty pleasure of offering up trade scenarios, while it’ll filter out the people who are simply not interested in BS unfounded ramblings. It’s a win-win, right? This way any fanpost that’s only a trade scenario can just be deleted.

Beno, KT and Nocioni...
…for Shaq.
Of course, it’ll never happen, but here’s one plausible scenario why Clevelad would do it. Shaq breaks down over the course of the season and cannot help the Cavs in the post season. Cleveland is desperate to win it all this year as they feel it will ensure LeBron resigns. As a result, Danny Ferry looks for some help. Beno and Noce provide nice complimentary pieces that can shoot from outside when the defense collapses on LeBron. KT gives them an expiring, which saves them money. Even with Shaq coming off the books, they have no cap space, so they make the move to get some perimeter shooting.
Why we do it? 20 million comes off the books and we are now players in the free agent market. If we get lucky in the lottery, and have a top pick, we become the next Portland: young, talented and loaded with cap space. Imagine getting the #1 pick, John Wall, plus Chris Bosh to go with Speed, Reke, and JT.
I think it helps Cleveland only if the Shaq Effect plays out there like it did in Phoenix
Shaq is definitely and interesting character at this point in his career. A once dominate force now more of a detriment to his teammates due to his demanding the ball, his lack of mobility, and his clogging of the lane in today’s no-hand-check-rule NBA.
Shaq should have started on the jumper a long time ago.
The reality is that they really only got Shaq for cap relief, so that the can keep LeBron and capture another young superstar. They are secretly hoping Shaq DOESN"T play in the playoffs. At least not until the Conference Finals when they can send him out there to talk smack to Dwight.
Another flaw in the human character is that everybody wants to build and nobody wants to do maintenance. Vonnegut
I never want to see Shaq in a Kings uniform.

Kings-Warriors-Hornets-Sixers trade
Kings get Emeka
Warriors get David West, Samuel Dalembert, and Sergio Garcia
Hornets get their rebuild on with K9, Maggete, Anthony Randolph
Sixers get Monta Ellis
Why? 1) First of all, this forum is all about crazy trades. 2) Hornets fans are not happy with David West. 3) Sixers don’t need Sammy D. 4) Monta Ellis will never be happy in Oakland. 5) The Kings need a good defensive big man.
I thought it was awesomely complicated and though it will never happen, at least the Hornets, Kings, and Sixers fill some holes, the Warriors continue to act crazy.
Another flaw in the human character is that everybody wants to build and nobody wants to do maintenance. Vonnegut
Sixers are trying to clear money
Not take it on. Monta is expensive after this season at 4 years & 44 million. There’s very little reason for Philly to take Monta when they already have Lou Williams.

they don't have a real shooting guard
AI and Young are better when they play three and four. Lou, Monta, Andre, Thad makes for a very high scoring core.
GREENE! You’ve been superfluously apostrophe’d! - andy sims
If Emeka is available for a big fat expiring
Why isn’t Ilgauskus-Okafor up in the air? Even Shaq-Okafor?
Does Kenny Thomas work best because he’s pretty much the least amount of money NO has to take back in order to send out Okafor? Shit, why isn’t San Antonio looking to trade Bonner, Finley and Roger Mason for Okafor?
GREENE! You’ve been superfluously apostrophe’d! - andy sims

Hornets get K9, Amare, Earl Clark

Bucks get Kevin, K9, Beno, and our first rounder

He’s far too popular in Milwaukee right now. Media wise, it would be retarded to trade Jennings the way he is playing.

Our pick top 3 protected would go to Philly and NO’s would come to us with the same restrictions. This is a defense and rebounding trade and we take on big future salry, but we would be a wrecking ball-like monster.

Crud!
It was a trade
Phi gets: Spencer Hawes, Kevin Martin, and a Sac protected 1st rounder
NO gets: Kenny Thomas and Sergio Rodriguez
Sac gets: Andre Iguodala and Emeka Okafor and a NO protected 1st rounder
The Kings take on approximately $600k of salary and start Oakfor, JT, Noce, Iguodala, Evans.
i like the starting lineup
but many people here have discussed Kevin vs. Iggy, and Kevin wins. He is cheaper and a better scorer.
Also I don’t think the Hornets would take Sergio; they wanted the minimum amount of money back.
And the whole idea of getting Okafor was to create a 3-man rotation with Shock and Hawes.
Another flaw in the human character is that everybody wants to build and nobody wants to do maintenance. Vonnegut

4 Team Trade Between Sac, Hou, Bos, & NJ
Kings Receive: Ariza(Wait until he can be traded), B. Lopez, and Brian Cook(Filler)
Rockets Receive: KT, and Garcia
Nets Receive: Donte Greene, Giddens, Tony Allen, and Sergio
Bos Receive: Nocioni
Kings Roster Afterwards
PG Tyreke/ Beno
SG K-Mart/ Udoka
SF Ariza/ Casspi

Lopez and Ariza are not available.
They are the best players on their teams that are not injured. They are also very young.
Yes, that IS dreaming
Still would need a real back-up PF but . . .
Of course as mayfield says, I think Lopez and Ariza are pretty close to untouchables. Ariza’s deal looking like a bargain for Houston so far.
