If [Jason] Thompson continues to produce at this level – and he continues to play 34 minutes per game – when the season ends Thompson will produce about 15 wins. Last year the Kings only won 17 games. So Thompson’s dramatic improvement is enough to significantly change the fortunes of this team.

Wow...
Looking around very briefly on the WoW site and I found other guys who had about 15 wins produced:
Kobe – 15
Pau Gasol – 15.6
Gerald Wallace – 15.7
David Lee – 14.1
Brandon Roy – 15.3
Tim Duncan – 13.9

Interestingly enough
Unless I missed it, there wasn’t a single mention of the new coaching staff in that article. Some of last year’s individual player numbers should be tempered by the reality of the Theus and Natt coaching regimes.

+1
Also the bad personnel decision of Mikki Moore as well.

Not too shabby
considering that most of us had no idea who he was when he was drafted!

Not a Fan of This Guy
These number geeks who want to quantify everything are missing the boat. I understand giving credit to JT, deservedly so, but without Tyreke, we have 1 or 2 wins this year, MAX. There is plenty T-Rek does that don’t show up in the box score, like driving and dishing that leads to the pass that leads to the open shot. Or keeping his man in front of him until there are 14 seconds on the shot clock and the opponent has to scramble for a decent shot. Or denying teams first option offensively. Or controlling tempo when pace gets hectic, getting team into play set, instead of forcing action. Little things like that are huge.
Rose versus Tyreke will be fun tomorrow. The Bulls are not playing well, I like our chances.

Yep. It's almost like this guy is just looking at box scores instead of watching any games.
Word – I like our chances against the Bulls too.
33 Wins. Yeah, I said it.

interesting comment to the article by a poster named "Khandor"
who contends that the other big improvement is that K-Mart was removed from the roster by injury, and so his scoring has been covered by the other players, who happen to each be better defenders/rebounders at their positions than K-Mart.
Interesting.

Now THAT"S a very interesting argument IMO
Wish people that criticize Kevin would think of smart stuff like this.
I think it’s very possible that’s the case. As a unit, the team is making up for Kevin’s points and as a unit they are better defenders. My argument against this theory is that the guy replacing Martin, Beno, is not a good defender either, nor is he a better rebounder. The way Beno helps the team is by running sets and being able to play on the court with Reke.
If anything, the addition o fSpencer and Noc to the starting lineup helped the team in the rebounding/defense department. This could really be more confirmation that is not Kevin but it really is Spencer and Noc.
Very smart comment I think.

you make a good point about Wabeno not being a big improvement over KMart on D
Maybe the right comparison to make is our roster over the past 4 games (the “Week of Unexpected Glory”) versus last half of last season’s roster.
What my eyes tell me: Wabeno is more active on D than No Bueno was, T-Rex is a much better defender than KMart, the team seems to have a better “clue” as far as team defense goes, and the ball movement is better. That, and the bench has the Casspi spark.

Good point
Beno is not a good defender. I don’t know how somebody loses their guy so often. It really is the replacement of May and Mason with Noc and Hawes. This isn’t about KMart.

For not being a good defender
Beno just did a helluva job on the Rockets point guards and before that handled Westbrook very well.
