Lowry and Brooks?
Who shot a combined 6-22 and combined for 18 points against Reke’s 20? Hey Charley, you just made my Ugly list for next week.
Father of the "Natt this!" movement and Grandmaster of the "Never let AnotherStupidSN forget what a Sham-Wow is" Order.
That would be every week Aykis
You realize this is Charley Rosen right?
No mistakes in the tango, darling. Not like life. Simple. That's what makes the tango so great. If you make a mistake, and get all tangled up, you just tango on.....
Oh, hes in the laegue two and Jayson Thomson and that Boggins dude on Milwokee, and Occur for the Jizz. Its a talented laegue.--Kfan in Korea
I think both (U and Charley) are correct.
It’s true that they blew by Tyreke on occasion, but they didn’t necessarily finish at the rim, nor did they make their stop-and-pop jump shots.
That was indeed an ugly statement on Charley’s part.
33 Wins. Yeah, I said it.
I thought it was spot on for the most part.
Here are some juicy tidbits from his observation of the Kings win over the Rockets:
Charley discusses JT’s lack of a go-to move in depth (which is something I’ve been cringing at for the past season and a half):
But he lacks a go-to move on offense, and his post-up defense is bad. How bad? After Luis Scola had abused him on several occasions, the Kings sent two extra defenders to assist Thompson. Thompson is another young player who — with some hard work on his fundamentals — will have an outstanding career.
He also stresses the importance of Udoka:
Ime Udoka: This guy’s an extremely valuable player off the bench.
The following excerpt supports my main reason why I don’t like the prospect of ‘Omeka Okafor’, a player who does not supply what we need offensively, a go-to guy with strong post up moves:
Also, except for one basket each by Casspi and Thompson, the Kings showed an absence of post-up offense. Indeed, it was Thompson’s offensive rebounding and Udrih’s perimeter shooting that carried their offense.
With all that being said, I do like what Emeka brings to the table in rebounding and overall defense. No wonder he spawned a discussion with over 800 plus comments.
Then he gives a fairly scary and accurate scouting report on our squad:
For the time being, the Kings’ perpetual hustle is more than compensating for their shortcomings. Once the league adjusts and pushes Evans left, makes Udrih put the ball on the floor, makes a concerted effort to seal Thompson off the offensive glass, jumps Hawes’ every dribble, attacks their post-up defense and load their lineups with 3-point shooters, then the Kings either will or will not make successful counter-adjustments.
I think Coach W is working on these shortcomings as we speak. Until these are fixed, let’s hope opposing teams have other things to worry about instead of capitalizing on the Kings’ weaknesses.
Thanks for posting, Wabut.
33 Wins. Yeah, I said it.
It's that easy huh, just game plan for it?

I don't mind this guy...
…for at least a willingness to form a strong opinion. albeit knee-jerk. He is intentionally provocative to garner attention, and every once in a while may offer a fair insight. I like Charlie Rosen for having the balls to call a guy awful. He is not out to kiss ass and make friends. And besides he’s REALLY old, and old guys earn right to act curmudgeonly, and I respect my elders even when they make moronic, senile statements re: Tyreke’s defense. In summary, go have a glass of prune juice, Mr. Rosen.
I actually find this comment from Charlie very insightful....

Yep. I don't mind him either.
It’s an entertaining read from a guy who probably watched the game one time while eating his take out burrito. I take his stuff with a grain of salt with some true basketball knowledge thrown in every now and then.
33 Wins. Yeah, I said it.
Blob
I found this to be the most honest piece Rosen has ever done on the Kings up to this point. I disagree about Evans defensively at this point, but I do agree that he will be one of the best all-around players in the NBA at some point. Tyreke Evans just has that potential. The Kings absolutely needed that.
I also agree with this:
For the time being, the Kings’ perpetual hustle is more than compensating for their shortcomings. Once the league adjusts and pushes Evans left, makes Udrih put the ball on the floor, makes a concerted effort to seal Thompson off the offensive glass, jumps Hawes’ every dribble, attacks their post-up defense and load their lineups with 3-point shooters, then the Kings either will or will not make successful counter-adjustments. Here and now, however, the Kings are an interesting, young team.
I agree with this point whole-heartedly. The NBA has slept on the Kings a bit (mostly the players) up to now. At some point, the Kings will have to adjust, and whether they can will be one major criteria that this team improves at.

I don't like what he had to say but he said it with legitimite examples
I think Evans was much better on D than given credit for – Aaron Brooks blew by a few times but was wild and ineffective more often than not.
The rest of the criticisms were fair. The Kings need to improve their 3 point defense. JT is not an established post up scorer. Hawes has been clumsy and selfish this season; he is playing out of character on offense and he looks to have regressed in comparison to the improvements that are so evident in Jason Thompson. The snippets of sweetness that had us all applauding a bright future at the end of last season look as aimless as Hawes 3 point shooting this season.
We fans are a bit intoxicated by this current win streak – these are sobering comments from Rosen who is abrasive and callous but not off the mark for this currently overacheiving young squad. The way to deal with criticism is listen to it and if valid, address it and correct it to the best of your abilities. I would be willing to bet that Coach Westphal and his collective coaching staff have sharper and more poignant observations but wouldn’t disagree with what is written by Callous Charley..
