I wouldn't mind having Noce around longer term

He is a good role player albeit a little high priced of one. And if we trade K-9, I’d like it to be for a long term contributor. Otherwise let him expire and save the money.

I'm going to go with no.

We’ve already had two rumors early into the season, one involving Okafor, and now Dalembert. I think the Kings can afford to be a little more patient.

I say yes

We need another Big man, JT is getting it done on the O, now we need someone to get it down on the D; Hawes will be a nice piece off the bench, a big that can (kinda) shoot from outside, grab 8-9 boards and get a block or 2. Dalembert is a little on the pricey side, but we will be getting a solid Defensive Presence, along with solid rebounding, JT getting 10 boards, Dalembert getting 10-12 boards, Reke getting 5-7…..between then that’s 25 boards (on a bad night) so, i don’t see the problem, plus! next year expiring contract of 12+ mill…that’s a nice contract to trade (next season) where some of these older teams might look to dump cash (Lakers, C’s) Though we would be losing Noc (whom i think is the best 3 we got), We might have to end up starting our 3 guards, (K-speed, Reke, Beno) and have Hawes, Brock, Caspi, Greene off the bench (that’s a nice looking bench) But it can totally blow up in our faces and lose because we can defend Carmelo, James, Artest, Granger and others…Reke can’t guard those guys (maybe artest)

I say no, I say F no

I see this trade as a sort of hybrid talent acquistion and salary dump, but I still say no.

Why would we waste KTEC on a player we really don’t need who makes $13 next year? What does Dalembert do for our team that our current team doesn’t do for us? Even if you factor in Noce’s offset salary the net cost impact still doesn’t pencil to me cost wise or talent wise?

And, is Nocioni really that big of a drag on the payroll and team - at the very least, til the trading deadline? I say no, his contract isn’t really that egregious by NBA standards - and he’s a contributor (unlike maybe K9), meaning his value will remain intact, and likely increase in two ways: 1) for playoff teams as we near the trading deadline and 2) as Noce’s contract gets closer to expiration. So no, no thanks on Dalembert

Meh

This might not be a bad deal for this year’s squad, as it adds depth and defense up front. But I don’t see Dalembert as any more of a long term piece for this team than Nocioni, and his contract for next year negatively impacts our cap space. On the other hand, he becomes a significant expiring contract for 2011 if the Kings have determined that the numbers don’t add up for them in 2010 free agency.

I’m voting no. I like the Okafor deal better (I like Okafor better, in spite of the contract length). I won’t cancel my season tickets if this deal is made, but I’m not that hot for it.

I'm going with no

just because I want to the front office to be patient and see what else is out there.

The key is Nocioni

We need to trade him while we can. His deal will end up holding this franchise back, just as Kenny Thomas’s has. He is playing well… which is what makes it hard to trade him. He is playing well… which makes it POSSIBLE to trade him.

I like the guy, but we should get rid of his contract while we can.

Because of the trade kicker in Dalembert’s contract. Bleh.

Yeah just saw that too.

No real monetary benefit then, you’re doing a talent acquisition, and I’m not sure I think Dalembert is a bigger talent than Noc.

To any who think

that the Kings have four or five small forwards, I will submit that without Noci they have NO small forwards. Greene will be starting tonight, but should not be starting anywhere anytime soon. Casspi is an intriguing prospect that can contribute some energy and production off the bench in limited minutes. Garcia is essentially not here for the season. And so on. Noci is important right now. Let some really good deal come along, then we’ll talk.

Lower their expectations and rise to met them

voted no.

Like ‘Omeka’, Dalembert brings a lot defensively but we need a big that can bring in some reliable low-post offense. Not sure where we’ll find it but that’s what we ultimately need.

With Dalembert our defense will be upgraded but he’s a liability on offense. He’s known to have butter fingers with no handle at all. Again, NO.

33 Wins. Yeah, I said it.

No

In Omeka I see more untapped potential and upside to take the risk. This is pretty much Dalembert’s ceiling.

Voted no.

I’d rather do the Okafor trade.
