To my eyes, [Tyreke Evans] is more like a mutant Tony Parker -- he's terrific at getting to the rim and being creative once he gets there. He's not much of a finisher now, but he will be, and if he learns to make some midrange jumpers while throwing in a floater or two, he'll end up being one of the top paint scorers in basketball.

Just needs to work on his finishing
Like Thorpe said, so does JT though. Actually, a lot of the Kings could work on finishing.
i also liked his blurb on Casspi
Casspi is rounding into this class’s version of Rudy Fernandez — a 3-point threat whose energy fills an arena. His 3-point shooting has been top-notch, but he also brings a defensive intensity rarely seen in rookies. He plays with no fear, even when guarding All-Stars (something he routinely asks to do). His spirit in this area already has impacted the Kings franchise.
You are right
and he plays better D. I think he ultimately has more upside.

the casspi compliments mean less to me
Omri is his client.

After the last two seasons
I’ll take any compliment the media will give to the kings. Plus he is a well respected trainer so its not like it is just anyone saying that.
He was really talking up Tyrus Thomas last summer

I agree
He wont be perfect with his somewhat conflict of interest on some players. I just feel he gives a better breakdown on some players than the other writers can. Most the writers who praise Casspi have probably never even watched him play.
plus they both make Voisin moist in the panties

AICN
Is he famous now, or was that as obscure a reference as I think it is?

Thorpe is right of course
Tyreke needs to add a short jumper and/or floater to really make that penetrating ability shine. (watch beno for the jumper, Watch someone not on the Kings for the floater)

Hawes actually has a nice little floater/push shot in the lane
It’s about the only thing falling right now.
Jennings signature shot is becoming a floater in the lane
Bibby’s teardrop works as an example as well.

Did you see that reverse floater that barely missed last night?

and, completely unsustainable
the kid’s really talented, but I hate him.
Professional Hyperbole Slayer
LOL. Why the hate? He's a little overconfident but I think Rooks need that to excel in the league.
33 Wins. Yeah, I said it.
He's going to be doing pushups in his driveway like TO
in 5 years in between contracts or something else equally stupid.
I dunno, when I’ve seen him play, he’s been amazing, though no fun to be a teammate of from my vantage, but he’s a little too self-absorbed for me.
Professional Hyperbole Slayer
he is a product of the culture - and a bit of pioneer because he has made it work. Arrogant? sure, but 25.5 ppg and a 55 game is talent
Would I want him on the Kings? without a doubt. In place of Tyreke? no I don’t see that yet, I still have man-crush on the more complete game of Tyreke.
I think one of the best things going for Jennings is his team is the Bucks, they need him to take over, and the kid has responded incredibly to the pressure, and his Coach is Scott Skiles who will sit his butt on the pine if he thinks it is the thing to do. But hey, good for the kid, good for the Bucks – they are 6-3. The Bucks are 6-3, Redd is out, and look at their talent level. That is what is most impressive.

Where is Tyreke/Casspi ranked in Thorpe's latest rankings?
I don’t have insider and don’t wanna pay for it.
The NBA: "Where 27 free throws happens"
Evans #3 and Casspi #7
Jennings and Lawson are now #1 and #2
But he had a highlight!
Did you see the dunk! That’s worth 7 spots, minimum!
Never forget: I am a complete idiot
I didn't see the dunk. I will youtube it when I get home.
Stupid work blocks youtube
The NBA: "Where 27 free throws happens"
Lets see Jennings drop 55 on 'Reke...
If he even gets 20 I would be surprised. The kid is fearless but shoots too much…
Most of Tyreke's turnovers
Are from bad passes and/or getting into bad situations under the basket. His ball handling seems pretty damn good to me…I don’t think he’d get picked a lot.
The NBA: "Where 27 free throws happens"
In the Summer League game v. Milwaukee
Jennings picked ‘Reke a LOT. He had about 9 steals in that game (not all from Reke). But Reke didn’t draw BJ on defense much.
Still it was summer league, so you can’t really draw too much from it.

and it was summer league.
everyone has come a long way since then.
The NBA: "Where 27 free throws happens"
That was a totally different 'Reke back then.
He brings his dribble way low now and did so a lot in the Rockets game. It’s just so great to see him improve and try new things every single game.
I say Jennings only picks him once the next time they meet next month if at all.
33 Wins. Yeah, I said it.
This is going to be
A nice showdown! I hope the fans pack the place!

Jennings can't guard Reke
the opposite may or may not also be true

Reke can guard Jennings
Jennings can’t guard Reke on the post but I think he can do a decent job slowing him down
He has really quick hands
Reke will have to be very careful with the ball.

But until Speedracer is back
I doubt we see many points guarding Reke.
Father of the "Natt this!" movement and Grandmaster of the "Never let AnotherStupidSN forget what a Sham-Wow is" Order.
The opposite is most definitely not true
At least in Summer League. Whenever Jennings had Reke guarding him, he couldn’t penetrate at all. But then it was summer league, and he did bank in a lucky-ass three pointer with Reke all over him to win it at the buzzer.

Its so hard to tell until players have been around awhile
and there is a ‘book’ on thier game that teams can study.

Honestly
I like Jennings and ’Reke… I would be happy with either of them. I like the exciting style that guys like Jennings brings to the game but for some reason I think Tyreke will be the more dominating pro. I think you have to look at the number of shots Jennings puts up to get the numbers he is getting right now. He really dominates the ball…

The fact that 'Reke can post up and occassionaly guard SFs already makes him better imo.
33 Wins. Yeah, I said it.
