Season is just getting started. Momentum from those wins is gone, now let’s see if this guys have it in them to start a new winning streak.

November has being kind to this team and we still get NY and NJ at home to end it. Let’s see what happens

Not so much Turnovers, but .190 from 3-point range was what killed us tonight.

And this is why I’d much prefer we get a big man with post up moves so we can dump the ball into the paint when we’re cold.

JT got beat at his own game with Noah getting JT-esque put backs and tip-ins.

Bulls gave us EVERY frikken opportunity to come back in this game and our boyz didn’t capitalize.

Hope the Kings play focused and angry when they play big D on the road. The Rockets are probably salivating for revenge the next day.

Eh…sucky night.

Go Kings.

by JETisKing on Nov 17, 2009 9:41 PM PST reply actions

JT learned some lessons tonight.

He got some sucky calls, but he has to play through that. And the team needs to show better composure and value the possessions more. Despite that, you have to like the fact we had a chance to win when we played like crap.

Yup, they both hurt.

Turnovers were killer though. Chicago’s points off turnovers was extreme. Seems like they capitalized every time.

I only saw like half of the 4th quarter

To those that watched the rest of the game, did it make sense that Sergio was running things at the end instead of Beno? It seemed that Sergio got us back in the game, but I was wondering why Beno didn’t get put back in when our offense really started to stall.

As banged-up as the roster is

I guess it was about impossible to have any kind of “go-to guy” at the end in this one. The only logical choice would be Spencer, and obviously he was having major issues this game. I can’t figure what the hell is wrong with him; I really hope the trade rumors aren’t making him feel even more pressure, because that’d be a bit pathetic for a pro at this level, even one as young as him.

I'm really really pulling for him

I’ve seen enough of a glimpse of what he could become that it’s especially disappointing when fails to live-up to it.

Maybe he needs to take a page out of Donté’s book and have a kid to level-out and mature a bit. Any volunteers?

Sounds stupid,

But he might need a couple weeks in the “D” League to gain back his confidence.

He is very tentative with his shot and almost seems scared out there. I’ve never been a huge Hawe’s fan, but that has more to do with his lack of “D”. I always appreciated his offensive abilities.

When Beno was in

they had Hawes on top passing into the paint to Beno who would get blocked at the basket or had to reset the offense.. Sergio decided it was better if he played PG and passed in the paint to Hawes who ended up with a 3 pt play.

But, neither Beno or Sergio lost the game for us. Noah owned JT. JT found someone with more hops and the same amount of energy. We lost our rebounding advantage, which kept us in games when we made too many turnovers. Well he had too many turnovers and couldn’t out rebound the Bulls. Add, to that the fact that we took 21 3pt shots even though we weren’t hitting them, and it adds up to a lose.

I was at the game & I don’t think we played very tough. We took the easy way out with all the 3’s, instead of tightening our jocks and taking the game to them. And, we really missed Noc. We got almost no offense from Udoka & Omri. Omri made some terrible passes and JT kept putting the ball on the floor & turning it over. And, I thought PW’s 3 point guard offense was the worst I’ve seen.

Player positives: Donté who looked hopelessly lost now has started his future

Sergio showed he brings energy and intelligence to the team, and Tyreke continues to be a stud. Kenny Thomas was solid.

The negatives: Beno was an afterthought, Casspi was horribly indecisive, Spencer was dumbfounded. JT had an off night, looked like the Shock of last season.

As much of a stud as K9 was, we can't afford a backup center who puts up 0 pts.

especially when our backup SF’s put up 6. And, JT’s Achilles heel was quite evident. When he goes up against another energy big who has real Hops, his inside game vanishes.

I've watched JT for 1 year & 10 games

and in that entire time he has NEVER gotten an offensive rebound and gone up and dunked it. As proof, check 82games.com. Last year 100% of JT’s dunks were ASSISTED.

He doesn’t have enough lift to go straight up and dunk.

but I can’t agree at all with the premise that he would help get a win more than JT would, even when having a bad game, especially considering the lineup the Bulls had for most of the 4th.

Let's put it this way

I don’t think they would have died putting him on the court for more than the 51 seconds he appeared. Noah clearly had more energy than JT. I have yet to see anyone display more energy than Brockman.

the game started sloppy for the Kings but they stayed in with very aggressive rebounding

They stopped dominating the boards and the game began to slip away. The rest of it got away from them, but I was surprised they didn’t try and rebound like they did at first.

Udoka had his first bad game as a King.

Probably we had too many subs in there at one time, although in this game it was hard to figure who was a sub and who was a starter.

That’s what caused him to hesitate, and then make the bad pass. That and the fact that Chicago was filling the lane, and eliminating most chances for him to finish.

Donte, Sergio. Kenny were the best on the team tonight

and when that happens, you probably aren’t gonna win.

I was really hoping Evans would actually make a shot and get it going in the 4th. He’s the closest thing to a go-to-guy we got. Him and JT need to practice dunking and finishing at the rim. They missed a lot of their close shots. Maybe they should have passed it out instead …

I think they should have gone to Donte when they really needed a shot. He was the only real mismatch we had. And it isn’t as if we could done worse with our decision making and turnovers.

It is games like this, close enough to win but behind at home, when we really need Kevin.

That being said, the Bulls really won this game because Noah is a beast and Pargo really got them going. Rose was solid, if not very noticeable, but he had 7 or 8 assists.

The defense sucked tonight, but...

I’ve watched a few Chicago games and this team usually can’t even hit open shots. For them to be as hot as they were really made it tough. They drilled everything from outside and they are usually one of the worst shooting teams in the league. They didn’t look like a team that shoots 43% from the field and 32.8% from the 3-point line tonight. Bad defense was a factor, but this team usually doesn’t shoot this well.

So I’m guesssing that they win a lot of games on defense. And, not shooting. They beat the Cav’s by 1 and didn’t break 90pts.

WTF. That was some horrendous officiating.

Good game though, they’re playing too fast and out of control but hopefully will put it together as the season goes along. No one really knows their spots, but that’s to be expected with so much lineup turnover. Time to settle into a sane rotation and for the young guys to settle down a bit.

Even with Greene’s great game, Nocioni would have helped more with the spacing. The spacing on offense was horrible tonight. Poor Omri Casspi had no idea who to throw it too. He looked lost out there, but his teammates looked like they didn’t give him a clear path a couple of times either.

We are our own worst enemy when it comes to spacing.

At least when it comes to passing the ball.

Chicago had a great game plan. Pack the paint in low to kept JT and Tyreke of the boards and double our PG outside. We don’t protect the ball well, and haven’t for years. We make too many turnovers, and get too many balls stolen.

Chicao stopped our 2 best players, forced our PG to give up the ball, and waited for someone else to give up the ball or beat them. We gave up the ball and they beat us.

Everytime we drove into the paint it looked like a Rugby scrimmage.

And, the reason Donte could score so well in the paint was that he could out jump all the Bulls. When JT got in close, he ended up jumping up into 3 sets of hands. I think when you look like you have body control, the refs favor you. When you jump up flailing your arms and fall back onto the court, the refs aren’t going to give you many calls.

But, it did look like the Bulls got some favorable calls especislly early on.

Do you really want our leading scorer to pass the ball.

That’s an interesting concept. Maybe we should convince Martin to try it when he returns to the lineup. ;)

Just Joshing. JT had 7 TO’s, and no one was shooting well. If anyone was able to get to the basket, then they needed to shoot. There just wasn’t enough room in the paint to pass with all the Bulls penned in there. And, passing outside wasn’t any advantage, so he might as well take the shot and let JT & Tyreke got for the offensive rebound on his misses.

The only thing I didn’t like was the 3pt shooting. And, it wasn’t the fact that he took 8, but when in the shot clock he took them. We needed him to move the ball early in the clock to try and find easier shots. He needs to trust his teammates that they will get him back the ball if they can’t get an easy opportunity.

If the value returned in a trade is roughly equal

then the best option is to trade Noce around the deadline. The next best option would be to trade him as soon as you can. I know that seems really cryptic, but I think the point I’m making is that we still want to trade Noce this year, but it’s probably best to hold-on to him for a while if we can (because of Martin and Cisco being out). Only Petrie will know when and on what trade is the right time to pull the trigger.
