No mistakes in the tango, darling. Not like life. Simple. That's what makes the tango so great. If you make a mistake, and get all tangled up, you just tango on.....

Brandon Jennings was talked about today by John Hollinger.

Actually, this is what’s really interesting:

That, clearly, will be food for thought for other youngsters who contemplate the same decision. In fact, it eventually could undermine the NBA’s efforts to raise the age minimum from 19 to 20 years old, because it doesn’t really help the league if its future stars are laboring in obscurity in Europe rather than building fans in the NCAA. If Jennings does end up as a surprise rookie of the year winner, the current trickle of prep stars across the Atlantic could quickly become a torrent.
See, it’s not just Jennings. If Jeremy Tyler has a good 2 years over in Israel, it already may become a torrent of players going over there. If the NBA raises it’s age limit to 20, well, that’s that.

I kinda hope they do.

The NBA clearly didn’t think through this age limit rule.

probably produce better players

playing 2-3 professional length seasons overseas than the short NCAA seasons with all the practice limitations and such.

Yeah

The practice and focus on player development would really help young American players. The flip side is, Europeans may flock to the NCAA. Ain’t that ironic?

It'll probably happen too...

As colleges will recruit more overseas if they can’t get guys locally. And an American education does count for a lot in most parts of the world, so it would be appealing.

There's nothing to fear but everything.

Where?

I mean seriously, American education is considered to be a joke around the world. Maybe not college education, or graduate programs, but, it’s a joke.

A couple early observations
  • The Kings looked disjointed even during their pre-game huddle around Slamson. If you can’t get a huddle coordinated, how can you run a proper half-court set?
  • I need to get me some of whatever Slim-Fast Zach Randolph got himself into. Dude looks skinny, which is mildly terrifying.
  • This is the one time a year I’m excited to see Peaches. Watching on League Pass from Seattle, I’ve come to realize most announcers are ruthless homers. If I’m going to listen to ruthless homers, I’d prefer they be my own.
  • I also miss local Sacramento commercials on League Pass. The “WE’LL BE RIGHT BACK” card is insufferable. It’s basically a dare to change the channel.

Me either

It’s Comcast being crap is all that is. I know you’ve driven it. It takes 3 hours for chrissakes in rainy’ish weather. Since it rains a lot harder south of Seattle than it actually does in Seattle itself, this is an actual problem.
