Many say the Argentinian contingent to the NBA (Manu, Noce, Scola, Oberto etc...) are masters at the flop. Watching this clip, I suddenly realized Nocioni easily avoiding the Scola attempt to draw a charge. Could the Argentinians also have an anti-flop move?

they have to - Futbol is the problem - those guys are always falling down and writhing

plus – the Argentinians must play the Brazilians alot – is there anyone who flops more than Anderson Varejao? The Eastern Europeans took the flop to a professional level – the SoAms have perfected it. (Duke Blue Devils are the US exception)

Good call.

I think it’s also a culture thing. I mean, Arvidas Sabonis is the only European I know who made a living at blocking shots. Most Europeans (and SoAms) whould rather try to get the charge than the block.

the NBA is as much to blame as FIBA

the spoke last season about the no flopping rule but like most things it was more talk than enforcement.

I think they tried to do something about that in soccer.

If you flopped during the game, you got penalized or suspended, I forgot which.

Here is an example from September 2009

Arsenal’s Eduardo Barred for 2 Games
By JACK BELL
Eduardo da Silva, Arsenal’s Croatian player (via Brazil), was slapped with a two-match ban in European competition after officials determined that he was guilty of "deceiving the referee" when he was awarded a penalty kick against Glasgow Celtic in a Champions League game last week.

Eduardo won the penalty, Arsenal won the series to advance to the group stage. But the club ultimately lost an important player.

Vlade would have had a lifetime ban.
