Help fight bad officiating.

After the last game I decided to do a bit more than complain about just how bad the officiating has been.  I would ask you all to do more as well, especially given the second T on Omri.  Let's get some request to have it rescinded submitted.  More after the jump...

Star-divide

The last game I saw officiated as badly as the Griz game was, reportedly, fixed.  I hate to even reference that hurtful loss, but feel moved to do something about this one.

Please go to the below link and file a complaint with the NBA.

http://www.nba.com/email_us/contact_us.html

Please click on the box right above "Enter your message" and select  "Officiating" from the menu.

Omri's second T should be rescinded.  Messages from us fans asking for that can't hurt.

Here is a copy of what I wrote, see below.

To Whom It May Concern:

I would like to file a complaint about the officiating in the Kings and Grizzlies game.

The referees were clearly calling fouls that should not have been called.  The most aggregious was the second technical foul on Omri Casspi.

Omri Casspi was clearly getting held.  It was completely obvious as he tried to walk away from Tinsley.  I rewound my DVR several times.  I know the refs may have missed this, but that T needs to be rescinded.

I am also concerned about moving forward and would like this game to be officially investigated.  The referees clearly overcalled on Sacramento.  Why is that?

Given the history of corrupt officials calling games against Sac, I am left wondering if these refs have a gambling problem or were part of something related.

Please look into this issue.

I'm sure the NBA and David Stern will file your letter in their Urgent Matters Center

Perhaps

It may only make me feel a little better. It was so bad… I just wonder how often they actually hear from people filing complaints without there being merit.

I know that the team and those affiliated are taking steps a lot more effective, but at least I have some kind of option to vent a little steam.

Furthermore

I doubt the team would ask that the refs be fined or somehow penalized for such crappy calls and should have included that…

Nice

I love your proactive attitude. I re-watched the same place myself. Ridiculous! Not only did Omri not deserve a technical, Tinsley deserved a technical for unsportsmanlike conduct. It’s incompetent to bounce a guy from the game when you clearly did not see the play, and that’s exactly what the ref did.

And what gets to me is that there were two other refs who could have stepped in, and said ‘wait I saw something different…" The play occurred out in the open. It is not like they were tussling among other players. Omri had the right to shove him, what else was he supposed to do? He wouldn’t let go!

One other complaint about the refs, “Why are they so in love with calling travel?” Stern must have sent out memo. Unless a player blatantly travels, they need to let some of that BS go, especially if the player does not gain a clear advantage. The Kings got called for traveling 3 or 4 times last night, and it was like “what”?

I understand it is a fast game, and tough to officiate, but it seems like the Kings have been getting screwed by refs an inordinate amount this year. Though it doesn’t help our cause when JT is complaining about legitimate foul calls against him. It is best to shut up, and make your case more rationally, less emotionally, during a timeout.

I read JT’s lips and he has repeatedly said “LET ME PLAY, LET ME PLAY”. That seems to be his personal mantra, for some reason. I guarantee those words are falling on deaf ears.

Thanks!

Yeah, the calls were just nuts! I don’t know WTF was wrong with those dudes.

It may fall on deaf ears, but if you say nothing than expect no change

I applaud the attitude. And yes, I think the NBA reads this stuff though I doubt they will ever admit it influences their decisions.

I'll just do what works....

….I’ll HOPE for CHANGE. That fixes EVERYTHING.

Crandell @ Fox40

Crandell showed a still photo of the game on the news last night that showed 6 Grizzlies on the court at the same time… no call by officials.

yeah and of course nothing out of the NBA yet…I think they all have the week off..How can something that blatant be missed by 3 different refs. Just like the Caspi one..that other player should have been T’d up and the ref’s should be sent back to training for all the Crud calls in this game. Oh and get them some corrective surgery while you are at it..i hear Newman Lasik runs a deal..

Judgment day is coming!

My favorite part of your post

is that you capitalized Crud.

Excellent. Those calls should have a formal, proper title.

I do agree, though. The officials are only good if you don’t notice them. Once they start getting noticed, they’re not doing a good job.

The draft lottery has reinforced my belief that there are not enough bad words in the English language.

Ohh yeah

We all forgot to discuss that one. It was pretty ridiculous. Ball was in play and the Grizz had 6 players. That should’ve been a technical

Godfather of the "nice ass" movement.... the future begins now...

Damn right

How the hell did I forget that… Probably cause there were so many piss poor calls and lack of call it was just obscene.

How in the hell do those refs have a job…

But it’s spelled “egregious”
