Not sure where Udoka is going to fit in.
Will probably ride a lot of pine in the short term.

And hh can actually make the corner 3
We want to have shooters around Reke. That’s one more
The future begins now...
Am i the only one who actually likes Mason?
He plays solid defense and gets on the boards. He just can’t shoot, and that’s a downside but his defensive capabilities outweigh the lack of offense imo.
I'm with eduardo
Udoka is an upgrade on Mason. It’s the only thing that makes sense.
Victory is tasty.
You can see improvement every game this year. LOVE IT.
We couldn’t say that at all last year.

but you can see the team improving every game

That was me. We hung in there and even dominated during some minutes.
Good game.
33 Wins. Yeah, I said it.
I said that they finally look like an NBA team
They really do, and it’s not a knock on them. I’m really excited about the improvement

i agree
you could see each individual player seems to be improving… now we just need em to gel

i agree, the Kings are definitely getting better already
they didnt give up

Hawks are very impressive

Another flaw in the human character is that everybody wants to build and nobody wants to do maintenance. Vonnegut
I owe no apologies.
But I am very surprised at how well the team handled Horford. Josh Smith, however, took people’s lunch money.
Victory is tasty.
Horford held to 10 points, 5 rebounds is damn good
Another flaw in the human character is that everybody wants to build and nobody wants to do maintenance. Vonnegut
Well Horford had his share of crucial blocks. He changed a lot of shots which doesn't show up in the box.
33 Wins. Yeah, I said it.
That his game though
Nothing our guys let him do. Spencer played tough D and that won’t show up in the box scor
The future begins now...
Exactly. Horford did his thing as usual. They won.
Spence did a fine job as well. Clap.
33 Wins. Yeah, I said it.
The more experienced team beat the team with youth. Hawks are a playoff team and the Kings played them well.

22-12-5 for JT
7-15 shooting, 2 steals, a block and only 4 fouls. That’s nice

if only Shock, Hawes, Evans and Martin could play well, you know, together
Another flaw in the human character is that everybody wants to build and nobody wants to do maintenance. Vonnegut
It's tough though
You can’t have 4 players play great at the same time. There’s only one ball. Maybe one scores, the other rebounds, the other shuts down the oposite leading scorer.

I wish he'd relax just a little bit more to make those easy layups.
Awesome line tonight.
33 Wins. Yeah, I said it.
at least he now has the beginnings of a post game

naw. they will hang on to him. he is a nice guy, i doubt they cut him until Cisco comes back

It does suck when nice guys get cut...
But oh well… He’s made some OK money for a while, and he could probably get some good money overseas as an alley oop target on a team the needs better attendance or something…

offense
loving the fact that we have an offense this season. players seem to know their play sets and ball movement has improved tremendously
Good call
I saw a lot of set plays. Not only hat but we were able to execute some of them

I saw more set plays tonight than I did all last season

Gold medal moment
When Peaches said it was a back and forth, see-saw battle, and Jerry replied that a see saw actually goes up and down, followed by about 10 seconds of seething silence from Napes. Epic. I love me some Jerry Reynolds.
Oh, JT and Kevin were good, too. And Spencer showed that he can contribute and do the little things even when he isn’t having a great statistical game.

As much as I am a Tyreke fan,
I think Beno runs the floor better. I would have liked to see Beno with about 5-8 more minutes.
I think we outplayed them for the most part. If Tyreke shots were falling just a little better we would have won.

My thoughts
The Team as a whole probably played better than they did against the Grizzlies. But the Hawks are very good. Loved hearing Jerry say “Butch Casspi and the Cisco Kid” and “Casspi off the Glasspi”. We <3 you too Jerry.
JT was awesome.
Reke had a great 2nd quarter, but he favored his jump shot a little too much for my liking this game. He would probably have had 20+ points if Atlanta’s shot blocking wasn’t so good. They can jump.
K-Mart is slowly becoming a great all-around player. Anyone else notice how much he brought the ball up the court?
Kings starting 5 is so much better now. Bench is a lot worse.
Casspi looked like a Rookie tonight but thats ok. He’ll have games like this, and he played some solid D, Hawks made some seriously tough shots over him.
Beno played very well. He probably deserved to be in the game a little longer than Reke in the 2nd half.
Hawes was very solid without flashy numbers. Holding Horford to 10 and 5.
Noc played with intensity, although at times it looked like he thought he was Michael Jordan.
Liked Westphal’s rotations, although I didn’t like putting Mason in the 4th. We sort of lost control of the game after that point.
Overall, we hung in with a top 4 team in the East, had the opportunity to win, and solid performance all around. If we play like this against mediocre teams we should win easy.

I understand why Westphal put Mason in though.

Yeah, hate to say it but Beno does have a better handle of the offense...for now.
My take is
Kings with Tyreke = more gritty, powerful and athletic. Better D.
Kings with Beno = more fluid, more ball movement.
33 Wins. Yeah, I said it.
I agree
I think Tyreke will get better with experience though. He’s still learning these guys games. Beno’s had a couple years to work with these guys.
Father of the "Natt this!" movement and Grandmaster of the "Never let AnotherStupidSN forget what a Sham-Wow is" Order.
Yep. I'm willing to sacrifice some losses...
if that means Super Android Tyreke learns and improves even more.
33 Wins. Yeah, I said it.
Good recap
One thing I’d add: Atlanta has more horses than we do, and it caught up to us in the end. Woodson did a pretty good job staying one step ahead of Westphal on the matchups, particularly when he put Bibby on Mason.

back to work
good night STR. talk to you all next game
Evans need to play with a little more hustle.
…and up the intensity, IMO. I think he may need to improve his conditioning. I am not seeing full length sprints from Tyreke or filling the lane on breaks. I am not saying he is dogging it. I just think he can use of athleticism more.
Overall, Kings played well. Cisco could have made a difference tonight. And if Arco was more than half full. The atmosphere was deflating. And when Mason was inserted the air was really let out of the rally balloon.
I think thats just his face
He almost looks bored. But thats just his face.

i notice that about Evans too
he is strong, but he needs to improve his speed and jumping ability. he has never had to work on that before, i am sure, but he is playing with the big boys now

but he looks so different (and better) than Reggie or especially Natt did
"I make love to pressure" - Stephen Jackson
Yep -
He’s not throwing any of his players under the bus, but he’s letting them know that this isn’t acceptable to him.
As fans, most of us are OK with the improvement that we’ve seen. But Westphal wasn’t here last year, and to him a loss is a loss, especially at home.

But that’s a far cry from the eight-point lead we coughed up in the late going. Hopefully we can learn from this. But it doesn’t get any easier with Utah.

The Kings are best
when we play as a team and share the ball. When we get away from that and start forcing shots, it starts to get ugly. And it gets compounded when the other team converts those misses into breakaway jams. A few too many of those breakdowns and their ability to pick and choose the best matchups when they had the ball cost us the game tonight.
