Martin MRI?
Kevin Martin will have an MRI on his wrist Thursday, a night after scoring 29 points and grabbing 11 rebounds in a loss to Atlanta.
He was questionable for Wednesday's game due to a left wrist bruise, but was able to play through it. Here's to hoping the MRI doesn't bring any bad news along with it. Nov. 5 - 10:09 am et
This is from rotoworld.....is anyone else worried about Martin getting an MRI? I mean, he did a hell of a job last night (29pts,2ast,11rebs,1stl) with this injury and still shot very well with it (11-22FGA, 2-5 3pointers, 5-6 FTA). I'm hoping he can play through it like a star would (Kobe and his pinkie?) since it is his offhand and develop leadership that this team needs.....

Do we know that its for the wrist?
He has been grabbing that left rib for 2 games now

I saw him grabbing that rib, too.
Didn’t affect his play too bad, though. However, it might get pretty tough to play through on a back-to-back.
Knock on wood that it’s nothing serious.

That is the statement from rotoworld….I assume after the x-ray showed nothing that they are just trying to cover their bases with a MRI. My hope is that he can prove to be tougher than his past…
Kings have today and tomorrow off, so hopefully these 2 days off help him with his ribs.

I don't believe
that Kobe’s pinkie is really all that messed up. It’s like when kobe says he’s sick and drops 45 on national TV against a big time team. I don’t hear that he gets sick against the clippers when they are playing at 2 in the afternoon….and i am very worried that KSpeed he “hurt” again. Maybe he just needs a day or twos rest. If he’s hurt i would really think about trading this kid to a contender (we need a young starting SF in the deal.) Move Beno to starting PG and Evans to SG….IF KSpeed is hurt i wouldn’t be against it…

Don't be afraid of MRIs
Very standard precautionary measure for NBA teams these days. Just remember back a week or two when a few folks aorund here freaked out that Tyreke was getting an MRI.

Exactly
It’s a diagnostic test, not a procedure. It’s medically the same as an x-ray or having your temperature taken.

I'm not too worried
it’s his left wrist, correct?
That worries me very little. Kevin’s tough and has done a decent job of proving it. I’m tired of the naysayers who act like he isn’t. He played most of his games last season on a bum ankle that just never got to heal. It really ruined his season but he played quite a bit. He probably should’ve been a little ""weaker" and rested it so it’d heal properly, but he played through the pain. This is the exact reason I’m not super worried about an injury to his non shooting wrist. What’s the worst that could happen, it’ll make his shot look normal?

My friend just texted me..
That they said on 1140 he has a hairline fracture. Does anyone know anything about this?
Or how serious of an injury that is? I would assume its not as bad as a fracture. Although I know microfracture surgery is horrific.

crap
fracture just means it’s broken. hairline fracture means it has a crack in the bone. It may mean a cast for a few weeks, but I really have no clue.

Hiarline fracture
A fracture in which the fragments do not separate because the line of break is so fine. Also called capillary fracture.

Since he has an actual fracture, it would be out line to call him soft.
I hope he can play through it (he did it last night and he played really well) but if he is out luckily we have quite a bit of off days coming up.

Looks like around 6 weeks….geez that sucks. He was starting to come together and play a better overall game to his offense….

But that's for it to heal. He doesn't need it to heal before he can play necessarily,
he might just have to use a brace of some sort, since it is on his off hand, and it’s not a load bearing bone.
Fingers crossed
