All Is Not Lost
Although my prediction of us shocking the world and making the playoffs just got a whole lot dimmer, well damn right dark, all is not lost. True we lost one of the top 5 scorers in the league, top 10 sixth-man, and maybe for a few games Nocioni (nothing comes to mind) but we'll be o.k. Some of you may think Im crazy after this, but I believe our savior is already here, and no its not Evans. It's none other than Donte Greene (take a few deep breaths and here me out). If im wrong at least you'll have something fun to joke about while we're losing. I've been a fan ever since the big 40 point summer league game he had as a rookie. Some may say summer league doesn't mean anything, but 40 points is 40 points. The point Im trying to make is that he will probably get to see some time on the floor, hopefully a lot of time, as I've never seen him play more than 10 minutes. Don't turn him into Ike Diogu Pt.2. If Nocioni ends up missing a few games we will be down to 2 wing-men, so he could at least get 20-plus minutes. I say its time to let him play his game. We need defense, which he has been working on, but he can score which i think we'll be needing more of. We all compare him to Rashard Lewis and it would be great if he turned out that way, but the only way to find out is to let him play.
Rotation:
Pg: Tyreke, Sergio
Sg: Beno, Udoka
Sf: Casspi, Greene
Pf: Thompson, K9, Brockman
C: Hawes, Thompson, May
On another note, I read that the bulls were thinking about getting rid of Tyrus Thomas. Do we have a shot at getting him. We could probably get a back-up 5 also.
Kings: Tyrus Thomas, Jerome James/Aaron Gray
Bulls: Nocioni, ?

So the Bulls would trade Nocioni last year,
just so they can trade for him back this year?!
Ty Thomas broke his arm lifting weights
He’s a perfect fit for us!

Terrible news
I hope TT recovers.

"He tweaked his arm a little bit and he's pretty sore"
ya damn right he’s pretty sore.
It'd be nice if the Kings could acquire TT in the off-season
Assuming the Bulls don’t offer him a QO. Sigh, I can only dream.

If we got Favors
we wouldn’t need TT.

Favors, JT, Hawes front court would be scary

Lets trade for Tayshaun Prince

He's won championship
we had 17 wins, i don’t think he’ll be happy, Thomas is younger can play the 3&4 and is a better defender.
KINGS WILL BE 09-10 CHAMPIONS
And Tayshaun is now out too
Dude has played every game for 6 straight seasons, and you injured him by mentioning his name in this thread.

No, I think you need to do it like this:
I’d like to see this King’s team with Kobe. Wonder if they’d take Martin, filler and our unprotected #1 for him?

(…I had to say it cause it was in bold…and now back to the topic at hand…)
So not happening
No trade. No Donté as a regular rotation player.
When was the last time GP made any kind of meaningful trade this early in the season?

It's hard because a lot of teams don't want to make trades around this tmie
And partly tha’ts the case because you trade newly signed FA’s until Dec 15th (at the earliest) anyway.

nah,
you’re not crazy, haze. Just a bit wide-eyed about Donte’, which is a pretty common malady here among the Sactown citizenry.
We can all see the flashes of possibility, but boy, I’d be floored if Greene suddenly put it together and became a real-live NBA player during Kevin’s absence. To me (albeit with limited viewings) it just doesn’t seem like the he’s progressed much at all since he arrived in Sacramento.
As for Tyrus Thomas… wow, that’d be cool!

Said it before & I'll say it again
Donte won’t progress with dis jointed minutes from PW. It’s now he functions well. He’ll play far better (and has) when he knew ahead of time he would get minutes.

2 years on the pine
He probably changed his mindset, should be happy 2 c the court. Plus, he should be expecting minutes in their current situation.

Disjointed Minutes or High Scrutiny of PW
Hawes looked uncomfortable at first, and now he’s playing better. Omri had the same problem, and got jerked out after every mistake. And Tyreke, he’s been up & down more than anyone. PW has a mission, to get the team to play better defense. And, to that end he played Mason. Well, Mason is gone, and unless he’s going to play Udoka at the 3, Omri and Greene are going to have to get minutes.
Based on the remaining talent, the young guys need to get major minutes while Martin is out. If not Omri & Greene than who? Udoka isn’t going to win us any games or even be here next year. The same could be said for May & Brockman, although they are one step above Udoka, but are on one year contracts.. Omri might even be a better option at the 2 then Beno especially on defense.
PW needs to look at that the schedule and decide which are the winable games. If we don’t have the talent to win, then let the young guns play, and play thru their mistakes. Don’t jerk them out everytime they don’t play like a vet. Maybe by the time Martin returns, we’ll have more talent than when he went out.

He did!
I gotta admit. There’s definitely talent there, and it’d be cool if he can harness it. He seems like as great kid.

This mindset is soooo last year. This is different. Every game is a winnable game, or at least that’s the way we’re going to play them. I find that really refreshing.

if Donte can add some versatility and scoring we would all be thrilled
Please please please, i hope and pray that he does. i would love to see him get minutes at the 4 spot. if he could just never shoot 3s he would be fine. he can play good D, he has long arms and can block some shots.
Unfortunately, he has an uphill battle. Right now he has Shock, Noc, May, Casspi, Brockman and even Udoka in front of him. Even if Nocioni is out for a few games, i see a lot of time split between Casspi and Udoka.
Still, if the right matchup comes along, and he can focus, maybe we can finally see something good from Donte. How awesome would that be?
Another flaw in the human character is that everybody wants to build and nobody wants to do maintenance. Vonnegut
Donte would be considered awesome if he could regularly hit 3's on the wing and play decent defense.
That’s it. That’s all. Know his limited roll and execute.
If he could be a Steve Novak that could actually defend someone, I’d be happy.
33 Wins. Yeah, I said it.
Looks like he's going to start hitting shots now
but his D was still pretty bad.
