Hard to believe what I just saw.
A great effort and a great road win.

Double Double for JT
3-6 shooting 12 ponts, 11 boards and 5 assists. Loving his assists this season.

Great Game
I would’ve loved to see more Greene after his nice 2nd quarter, but I’ll take the win instead
Donté definitely earned some more burn.
m*****f***ing c***s***ing peanut butter and jelly!! f*** f*** f***!!!
Donte took over the 2nd Quarter?
Maybe that is his answer. He just needs to concentrate on performing on a small spot of the game and grow from there.
Awesome
I missed most of it but i’m about to check out the second quarter on League Pass DVR
I like the part where the Kings finished with more points than the Jazz. That was awesome.

Yeah, I found that part pretty cool two. I also like that Tyreke scoring a bunch part too.

Great 1st game for Udoka
Very nice signing GP

Haha. If people could re-read that thread right now. He totally affected the game in a positive way.

Udoka with the Smokah!
Missed most of the game, but did see him make a nice strip in the fourth quarter to slow down the Jazz run for a possession.

Incredible win shorthanded
You have to love the coaching of Paul Westphal!! I love the effort, hustle, and tenacity!!
This was a seriously FUN game to watch
Even at the tough patches when the Jazz started to cut the lead I was laughing at the “run out the clock” strategy. More games like this would be perfect, it teaches the youngsters so much and it’s going to get the fans riled up.
I seriously read all your comments in my mind in the voice of Batman

Good game.
Monster line for Reke, but kid was killing me with his off the ball play, overdribbling, and passing.
and it was his dribbling
that had us 20 up in the first place. the kid was amazing
I'm not sure you get what I'm saying...
It’s not about his individual numbers that I have a problem with, it’s about teamwork. Dribble-drive has it’s purpose, but it shouldn’t be option #1, #2, and #3, that’s for bench scorers who can’t function within a team offense.
Even in a win, we aren't satisfied
Ladies and gentlemen, your Sacramento Kings fans!
(I’m also cringing at some of his plays, but if you squint hard enough, everything looks good.) :)

Why are you comparing us to Knicks fans?
I should punch you in the mouth!
What's the past tense for "scam?" Is it "scrumped?"
i understand
but i don’t care. Kevin holds it too long. JT misses jumpshots. Spencer hasn’t made a 3 yet. We won and our rookie was amazing.
2-4
That’s a 27 win pace.

I'm concerned that Tyreke is having problems facilitating with Speed

But I did say during the thread in Martin’s 48 pt game that it would be really cool if we got a win against Utah. And indeed it was really cool.

Spencer only had one assist, but it was a beauty.
That play where he found a cutting Beno with about 2 minutes to go. That was probably my favorite offensive possession of the game.

I'll say it again - this team keeps IMPROVING every single game.
LOVE that dagger rebound by JT.
Like that final fake pass-lay up move by Beno.
I really like how EVERYBODY contributed to this win. You can tell there’s a totally different vibe now from last year.
Great win. Go Kings! I hope they have this energy for tomorrow.
33 Wins. Yeah, I said it.
They may not be the most talented team in the league
but they are going to play the hardest. Only thing I am bummed about this game is Brockman DNP coaches decision….I thought this game would have been perfect for him. Gotta give some love to Donte tonight! No burn in the second half but what a great 1st half.
Donte played a couple mins in the 2nd half
He just got pulled quickly.
No mistakes in the tango, darling. Not like life. Simple. That's what makes the tango so great. If you make a mistake, and get all tangled up, you just tango on.....
I think he playd like the last minutes of the 3rd
and stayed on the bench all 4th. He had a good burn in he 2nd nd that was enough. He earned someplaying time. I wouldn’t be surprised to see him tomorrow against Randolph
The future begins now...
OH yeah I wouldn't either
Good thing for him & PW. If the Kings can have Donte, Omri and Ime playing well without Kevin, that’s what it’s going to take.
No mistakes in the tango, darling. Not like life. Simple. That's what makes the tango so great. If you make a mistake, and get all tangled up, you just tango on.....
To repeat myself
This is exactly what I thought when I said that there could be something good coming out of Kevin’s injury. Reke is going to have to be the man and Donte and Omri will get more minutes. That’s going to help this team in the long run
The future begins now...
:)
Said the same thing. In just a lot more words.
No mistakes in the tango, darling. Not like life. Simple. That's what makes the tango so great. If you make a mistake, and get all tangled up, you just tango on.....

No mistakes in the tango, darling. Not like life. Simple. That's what makes the tango so great. If you make a mistake, and get all tangled up, you just tango on.....
Good amount of time
I’d be happy with 4-5 minutes a half. Just get him some consistent PT.

Consistent is the key
And I agree 4-5 mins to start should be good for him. Come in, play sme D, make some open shots and job well done
The future begins now...
Yep. All I ask is that he makes his shots and play D.
Donte certainly accomplished that tonight and then some.
33 Wins. Yeah, I said it.
Definetely
My criticism about those wo get down on Donte is that they don’t even have game time to judge him on. I want him to get consistent minutes and then see what he does. Key word, again, being ‘consistent’
The future begins now...
He's not going 4-4 every night
So it’s a bit tough to judge him on that criteria.
No mistakes in the tango, darling. Not like life. Simple. That's what makes the tango so great. If you make a mistake, and get all tangled up, you just tango on.....
That's true
but it’s more than shooting for Donte. Yes, he’s box score looks great tonight but if he played good D and had 3 boards and no points we would still be impressed and I’m guessing PW as well.
I just want him to get consistent minutes, ven if it;s 3 or 4 so that he can get use to playing and improve in the areas he needs to improve. He’s not getting that chance by sitting on the bench. You know as well as I do that he;s the type of player that needs playing time
The future begins now...
It's not just the PT ed
It’s also knowing what kind of time he’s going to get.
No mistakes in the tango, darling. Not like life. Simple. That's what makes the tango so great. If you make a mistake, and get all tangled up, you just tango on.....
I think that if the playing time was consistent
he would know what kind of time he’s going to get
The future begins now...
Yeah but the reality is not exactly so
He relaxes. It’s hard to explain, but I’m not surprised he played well. He did the very same thing against New Orleans. It’s just that he never could duplicated it.
No mistakes in the tango, darling. Not like life. Simple. That's what makes the tango so great. If you make a mistake, and get all tangled up, you just tango on.....
Big game for him tomorrow
Having done a good job on Randolph in Summe rLeague, he needs to take advantage of any minutes he gets. Tomorrow’s performance will go a long way to getting minutes.
Like I mentioned up there too, PW said he was impressed and you know he hasn’t praised players just for the hell of it before
The future begins now...
That does go a long way ed
And, I agree tomorrow is a crucial game. Hopefully Omri isn’t pushed to play without being 100%. If it applies to Speed, it applies to Omri. Omri will get his minutes.
No mistakes in the tango, darling. Not like life. Simple. That's what makes the tango so great. If you make a mistake, and get all tangled up, you just tango on.....
That's true about Omri
and more on the minutes thing. Don’t forget we are still short on big men and May’s not really getting a lo of minutes. there may be some minutes at the 4 for Donte as well.
I’m really excited about his performance tonight and hope is some kind of a breakout
The future begins now...

But now Donte has shown that if you give him time he’ll play hard in the way PW has asked.
It’s not like Omri Casspi has blown the doors off the hinges when he’s come in. He’s had one high quality game against Memphis. Donte has too.
It’s just that Omri has gotten more trust from the coaching staff than Donte up to this point.

Gotta give credit to Williams
15 assists 11/20 for 29 and 2 steals. If he doesn’t make it to the Allstar game this year something is wrong with the system.
I think he is the best PG in the NBA right now.
CP3, JKidd, Steve Nash
DWill is legit, but too many fans (and coaches) think he’s 4th best PG in the West.
There's nothing to fear but everything.
Not disagreeing with you
I agree DWill should be an all-star, and if he played in the East he’s a shoo-in. Just out here in the West, he’s behind future Hall-Of-Famers CP3, JKidd, Nash and Tyreke Evans. :P
There's nothing to fear but everything.
Yeah but he's so good I don't even mention him anymore. :)

Parket is a bit strange
He’s difficult to understand. His assist numbers are never great, he’s outside shooting has always been lacking, he just attacks the bucket with ferocity and great success. Just when you start to appreciate him, he gets’ completely shut down in a key game.
Wall isn't even in the NBA yet
I don’t get the hype. Is he really that good?

I think he has promise. He's a youtube sensation more than anything right now.
He’s just a name that pretentious b-ball fans like to throw around cuz they read it on Rivals or something. :)
He does look pretty sick though. He’s 6-4, super athletic and has crazy Jennings-like floor vision.

Nash’s game never required him to be ultra quick. He’s doing just fine, although he doesn’t have the same level of talent around him now. I’ll start worry about him when his FG% drops or when he starts playing <30 minutes per game.

But I forgot to say something in the game thread. It was greatly noticeable.

The Kings won the game simply because they hit more 3's

Gotta mention this
because it won’t show in the box score but Spencer had a good game on D and doing the little things like setting screens and passing the ball. I think we won because everyone did their job. Not everyone had a great game, but everyone had a good enough game to beat a quality team
The future begins now...
I forgot to mention the GREAT JOB Spence and JT did on Booze.
The guy had 17 rebounds but he didn’t really control the flow of the game in any way.
33 Wins. Yeah, I said it.
I don't understand how Hawes only had 1 assist
weren’t there back to back plays where he got a pass and fed JT for baskets?
But I agree, he had a good game.

I think some led to FTs
and sometimes he had the first pass to Reke who then assisted JT
The future begins now...
He was leaning in on a number of his screens trying to do damage, it was good to see!
I wanted to adopt, but all the good looking babies were taken

I was also impressed with some of Reke's screens
He dribbled towards his perimeter players, passed to them, then when they cut back he was right on the defender.
Is it pay per view or is it on the regular TV.

I hate Brock Lesner

yeah
it bothers me when MMA guys not in the UFC get talked up as the best in their weight class. It’s like saying some guy in AAA is the best 1B in baseball.

true
but I still wish he’d go there.

Yeah same here. Wish they worked out their deal.
Dana White would never let someone promote their own company along the UFC name on the marquee. I don’t blame Dana for saying no.
33 Wins. Yeah, I said it.
Awww. I respectfully disagree. Brock is great for business.
Carwin should give him a nice battle.
33 Wins. Yeah, I said it.
I think he is good for the sport in terms of
he is a fun guy to root against.
The guy is a beast no question. He just an ass in my opinion. Its all about the money with him.

Yep. He's made the Heavyweight division really interesting.
It’ll be fascinating to see who tries to come in and take the thrown.
Cain Velasquez looks scary.
33 Wins. Yeah, I said it.
They need to add another weight class in there
the 230-240 pound guys have no chance. Maybe make heavyweight top out at 250 and have a 250+ super-heavyweight class.

Agreed. Some promotions do that. You'd think UFC would do the same.
I think it’s a quality thing. Most guys that huge aren’t as skilled. Brock and Carwin are anomalies.
33 Wins. Yeah, I said it.
Iv'e been watching the Ultimate Fighter,
Those guys are clowns compared to the fight I just watched.
Previous seasons have always been entertaining. The heavyweight that they recruited seemed really out of shape save a few.

But I was watching a movie with my wife and missed all but the fourth quarter. Might try to catch the replay to see what I missed.

Oh, so the bad play in the 4th was your fault.
You should watch the replay. The 2nd and 3rd quarters were full of wonderful Kings basketball.

Somebody post video. Love reading poetry from ESPN like this:
“The Jazz finally ended their drought, which included 10 straight empty possessions, when Paul Millsap made a layup.
But the Kings weren’t finished. Udrih made another 3-pointer to finish the astounding 26-2 run with 1:44 left in the third quarter."
That doesn't even rhyme.
Whatever. At least they tried.
What's the past tense for "scam?" Is it "scrumped?"
What I love is that Reke is so bad ass
ESPN don’t even have a picture of him to put as top performer in their recap.
(Reke’s awesomeness can only be captured by video).
There's nothing to fear but everything.
Small sample size update
The KIngs are on pace to win 10.25 road games and 20.5 home games, for a total of 30 or 31 wins.
With some games still in progress, the Kings are tied for the 20th best record in the league. They are ahead of Golden State, Memphis, Minnesota, New York and New Jersey.
The preceding contains absolutely no nutritional value.

Glad ’Zone has a good coach now. It just makes the PAC-10 stronger. Wish Lute was still coaching.

i miss Lute too
but it was his time to retire. his recruiting and evaluating skills were declining, he hadn’t done much in the NCAA tournament since 2001 (with the exception of 2005), and the fans were eager to get a new face in there.
And i think this years Arizona squad is a team that could beat UCLA at Westwood by 15 points, and then lose at home by 15 points to Stanford. We’re so damn young and inexperienced

Jahvid Best has a serious concussion. Hope everything works out for him.

Dude went flying.
Thanks for beating us, the Kings.
Perhaps this will spur the Jazz front office to want to make some changes and trade Boozer. This team can’t win consistently with the team they have.
Good luck with the rest of your season.
The more you try to erase me, the more that I appear.

is a Dook player. He ruins everything. Go Arizona and bear down!

And Utah outscored us in the paint 50-32
But Boozer has made his bed in Utah. Jazz fans are loyal and they expect (deserve?) the same from their players. Boozer is a merc, and Millsap waits in the wings. Under these circumstances, we would probably want him gone, too.

Its a shame the guy is ultra talented. Is he a cancer in the locker room with the other players? Or is it just with the media?

Anyone else think Reke's dunk over Price should be a top ten dunk of week?
Maybe in the 8 to 10 range?
That dunk,
other than the Kings winning, made my night when Price tried to foul him. Do they have the poster yet?
Yep

What about Beno's drive for a play of the day..
Late in the 4th, the Jazz were surging and off either an offensive rebound/inbounds pass, Beno gets the ball above the three point line, drives, shakes Okur at the three-point line, then fakes a pass to the corner to shake Boozer from getting the block, then getting the easy lay-up.
And Ronnie Price’s free throw AIRBALL!
