Peaches is in a dark, deep hole...and hopefully we won't climb out of it.

This was the quote
“If (Napear) keeps doing it and then he tries to come up in people’s faces, guys aren’t going to talk to him. He’s killing him on the low. They’ve let him do that for so long. Nobody from upstairs has said anything to him. He’s been able to do that for so long, been able to rub people the wrong way and rub the players the wrong way because he doesn’t have to interact with the players. He just sees them on the plane…Until somebody calls him out and says, ‘Who do you work for? Do you work for the Golden State Warriors?’

"Hopefully"
“I’ve got to go through 20 games, hopefully that’s it.”
Unfortunately, highly unlikely.

Interesting articles today
Not being in the area I dont get exposed to Peaches but I can see why everyone seems to hate him.
Hopefully this

I've said it multiple times
But go 1140 and listen online. Or go to cbsradio and click on the station that way. Trust me, you don’t need to live in Sac to recognize how stupid Napear is.

I'm not saying he isn't
I was just trying to say I hope that this does not continue to distract from everything else going on.

I've often expressed the fact that I don't hate Grant all that much compared to most people on here.
I think what he said had some merit to it, but he failed to understand a few implications with what he said.
He’s trying to claim that he was making a blanket statement: If you can play without causing further damage, play. And we’re supposed to not read into that any more than what the words actually mean.
But Napear fails to understand that when you say things like that (often screaming them) it’s going to sound like an indictment more than a blanket statement. I don’t know what his intentions were, whether he intentionally said it that way knowing he could backtrack easily if he gets criticized for it, or whether he actually meant those words and nothing deeper. But he’s going to keep rubbing people the wrong way if he keeps saying things the way he does. Like it or not, he’s a representative of an organization, and he needs to act like it.

Many good quotes in there.
I don’t understand Grant’s problem with Kevin shutting it down a few games early last season. There were reasons it was a good idea:
- heal quicker so he could begin his off-season work earlier and be more ready for this season.
- not risk really screwing it up
- secure worst record and 4th pick instead of 5-8.

Far be it from me to defend Napear
But Bobby’s argument is like asking a journalist to only report positive things because the ads pay his salary. That’s not their/his job. In this case, it’s for Napear to give his opinion.
If it’s idiotic then call him and point it out …..
I love this Cisco quote though, which pretty much proves my point straight from the mouth of a player well-familiar with Martin’s game.
“We’re just so little (he and Martin) we get bumped and we (get hurt).”—-Cisco
Martin is not soft, but as long as he tries to carry the team and take on the world, he’s gonna be 1) playing hurt or 2) outta games.
People can bitch and moan all they want, and say Martin is king all-star scorer, but the Kings are awful mainly because their team defense sucks—inside and out—and secondly because their offense has no flow. For years now, they’ve built the team around a player who can’t finish games simply because of his style of play/nature on the court.

Could you just stop with the crao
This team is NOT building around KEvin Martin. Why is it that hard to understand??

Not anymore they aren't
I said the last few years: You dont think paying him what they did meant they were building around him? and the last few years, he’s clearly been the catered to marquee player, the player others defer to in crunch time. Which is fine, since we don’t have anyone who can score better …. yet.
BUT if he would just pass the damn ball to someone else at the end of games.
He’s not gonna get those ticky tack weak shit calls down the stretch. why is THAT so hard for you to understand?

Marquee player on a rebuilding team
It’s not his fault he’s the best player on a bad team. The Kings are rebuilding, not building around anyone. They are adding as many taleneted pieces as possible. They got rid of the older players and kept the young talented players. Is not Kevin’s fault that he’s the best out of the bunch. Once he gets more talent around him he won’t be the best player anymore and would be a very good complementary piece, a damn good one. That takes time, that’s why is called rebuilding. And since when do NBA teams build around 10$ a year guys??
And you’ve been around long enough, care to use the reply button??

68th highest paid player in the NBA
He is paid quite well, but he is not making “marquee player” money.

What?
So the best scorer should be passing the ball to others that don’t score as well. The best scorer should not shoot, which KM does damned well, and pass instead?
The team should not set him up and pass to him? Really? What you smokin?

What what Whaaa?
I rarely post lately (I like pictures), But this brought me out if the woodwork.
Do you realize how underpaid KM is? He is the 68th highest paid player in the league. There are only 30 teams in the league. Based on salary he should be the THIRD highest paid player on a team.
There is an enormousdifference between building around a player, andpaying a quality playerarket value (and I would argue UNDER current market value) for the best player on your team.
In your response you say that, “we don’t have anyone that can score”. And yet say that, “if he would just pass the ball to someone else at the end of games.”.
Come on, you want to complain. Maybe even bitch about KM, but you can do better than that.
KM’s contract isn’t handcuffing the Kings, and never will. Find a better player for less, THAT IS NOT IN HIS ROOKIE CONTRACT, and you will only find players destined as steals.
Kevin is not the problem.
Is my banana fluffy enough?

Not only that 27
But Martin is the highest paid player on this Kings team too.

Praise to Sam Amick. Thank you for saying what I am thinking with better grammar and flow.
