PLAYOFFS

WE ARE IN THE PLAYOFFS!!!!

I thought my first post would be nagging about how thompson cant make a lay up 7 games into the season... or how Noc shoots from anywhere on the court with no regards of his teammates being wide open, or how casspi should start, and how Greene should get more playing time,  but this one is much better.

PUT IT IN THE BUCKET AND SEND HIM TO THE LINE!!!!!

When Martin & Garcia are both healthy, this team will spoil some plans for bubble teams

And maybe shake up the eventual seedings, but to expect anything more is really just delusional. 30 wins would be a major accomplishment. THIRTY.

the mark of a young team is schizophrenia - or a Sybil like multiple personality disorder

First three games we were happy they made it close in one. They win two in a row and they are playoff contenders. Next week – ??? shooting for the 1-4 lottery pick or taking bets on who they play as the #8 seed.

You bring up a good point

PW and his staff will attempt to win as many games as possible draft position be damned.

what if Donte steps up

And becomes our athletic big? Seems like he has responded well the last couple games. At 6’10" with long arms and improving scoring ability then maybe he can fill that role at the 3 and 4. Especially if we can trade Noce

Right now the plan remains the same.
Besides – Derrick Favors? You don’t pass up the chance (if you get it) to grap an IMPACT interior scorer.

Donte's play is situational

Against the bigger front line of Utah, he made his outside shots, but nothing inside. Against GSW with no size in the front court he was able to take it to the rim. Having him show his full array of scoring talent is exciting. But, his best game was at PF against a small front line. Can he produce as well against .500+ teams with big front lines and shot blockers around the basket?

And, how well can he defend bigger PF’s? He’s going to need more experience and time to develop into the type of big we need.(Center, PF) I’d really like to see him develop into the SF that we need.

Problem?

If so, it’s ne we don’t need to worry about for at least another 25 games. Let’s focus on the team we have right now.

I agree

and so far, they’re playing their butts off. I don’t see how adding two players like Cisco and K-Mart is a problem though. If its a problem, its a good one.

Wow

We’ve won two games in a row. One against a team that went up by 14 in the first quarter before falling asleep and one who is possibly the worst team in the NBA at the moment. And suddenly we have chemistry to ruin? Wait six weeks and then tell me you are still worried about how the return of the best scorer on our team will mess up the chemistry. Until you have a legitimate shot at making the playoffs, you can’t claim to have chemistry.

Agree

Martin and Evans are perfect compliments to each other Martin shoots and Evans does everything else. Those 2 can play together…just match them with a 3rd small has a decent all around game and we’re good to go.

I realize

That I’m one of the only ones here that looks at this team from an outside point-of-view. Ah, it is nice to be out of the Sacramento bubble. You all will realize my genius sooner than later. But for the time being, go ahead and ride K-Mart out while you have him… Maybe we’ll trade him to the Wizards sometime soon and start our upswing again…

Don't hate, I'm a realist!

I did not try to imply that...

It was stated. I think it was somewhere around “…That looks at this team from an outside point-of-view.”

Like I’ve said before. K-Mart is a good player. But we can survive without him and could get some valuable assets for him, while he maintains his value. That’s my opinion. If you don’t like it fine, but [in advance] don’t be a douche bag about it.

Don't hate, I'm a realist!

by Sammyp831 on Nov 10, 2009 11:24 AM PST up reply actions   0 recs

Finally something that makes sense
But we can survive without him and could get some valuable assets for him, while he maintains his value.

And your opinion is always fine as long as is well thought out and no simplistic general statements.

Now, what kind of deal you think is out there? Do you mind suggesting an actual realistics trade in which a team would agree to trade for Martin and the Kings getting something of Kevin’s value in return. ESPN trade machine is your friend. Let us know… we really like concrete examples

The future begins now...

by edm7 on Nov 10, 2009 11:38 AM PST up reply actions   0 recs

So these last two games

Are evidence to you that “we can survive without him”? You don’t think maybe you should wait a few more games and make sure?

Shit

Gone for one little day y’all decide go to town. And yes, not living in Sactown does give me a better view because i don’t hear about the kings day in-day out from local media, I don’t talk to any other kings fans, other than you all – which is my only option, and it’s not a value thing, but more of a town stuck on the only talent they have had for the past few seasons. If other out-of-towners don’t have this view, that’s their problem and I’m not talking on their behalf. I’m not all up on KMart’s jock. We all should know that he has good value, but it’s having the willingness to part ways that is difficult for some to conceive.

As for the trade machine, no can do at work, filters got the best of me, it’ll have to wait.

Personally, I don't think a trade will improve us much

unless we’re talking unprotected lottery picks for a couple of years or a true superstar (and which team is going to give us LeBron, Durant or Dwight Howard for Kevin Martin?).

If Kevin’s best role is to be a weapon off the bench for a great team, why can’t he play that role out in Sacramento? The Kings aren’t going to be bad forever, and even if rebuilding takes 3 years, in 3 years Kevin will be 29 and still have NBA shelf life (particularly as a shooter — Ray Allen’s not bad for a fossil).

If we are nowhere close to competing in 3 years, then we can ship him for picks (and trust me, just as many teams, if not more, will want him then because of his affordable contract (with 2 years left to run by then) and his perceived veteran status).

p/s: I’m from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

There's nothing to fear but everything.

No offense

But the idea that one cannot form a lucid opinion while living in Sacramento is as ludircrous as saying that one cannot form a lucid opinion while living out of Sacramento.

Day-in, day-out local media? What do I pick up here that you cannot pick up? Grant’s show?

It’s a small world, my half-cocked friend. And the validity of one’s opinion has nothing to do with their geography. This is the kind of tripe that has most people scoffing at your other opinions. It is absolutely baseless.
