luis in el paso, texas:
hey bill: there is rumors going around that the rockets are gonna trade t-mac and jermaine taylor to the kings for k-mart, nocioni, and abdur rahim expiring contract but retired.. if true would you aproove this trade? your thoughts??
Bill Ingram:
That's because the Kings are talking about trading Kevin Martin. They talked about it last season before the deadline and I'm hearing it again. It helps stoke the flames of the rumor mill when you draft a guy who plays his position - and he averages 25 ppg when Martin is out (ok, that's just two games). The Kings would like to get out from under Martin's contract, and the Rockets would definitely listen if they called.

Complete bullshit

The Kings do not want out from under Martin’s contract, which is one of the better post-rookie deals in the league.

Good thing we have Dwayne Casey as our coach right?

great reporting, hoopsworld

they must use Stephen Jackson and Allen Iverson and their main sources.

The only reason that trade happens is if the Maloofs are sincerely anxious to save money. Which they might be. But that has less to do with the Kings team unhappy with Martin than it does the current state of the economy.

Martin’s contract is completely reasonable for his production, and Evans playing better has less to do with position than it does his overall transition to the NBA and the healing of a sore ankle.

If Houston wants K-Mart, we need at least 1 first round pick if not 2 to take from them.

Another flaw in the human character is that everybody wants to build and nobody wants to do maintenance. Vonnegut

It's official

Hoopsworld is the site that I hate (not hoopshype, I always get the two confused).

What a crock of shit.

I'm actually sort of pissed someone would say something this erroneous.

There's also this piece of wisdom
paul westphal in kings HQ:
Does Sacramento really need k.martin or can they trade him? does the starting lineup should be Evens, Udrich, Casspi, Thompson and Hawes? They can a good big man instead of him and they are hurting down low (may is not the answer).

Bill Ingram:
In talked to a couple of league execs about that situation, there is real doubt about Evans’ ability to play the 2 from a defensive standpoint. He can score, sure, but can he defend the plethora of All-Star twos in the NBA? I don’t think so . . .

Yeah Reke sucks as a defender. I think I want to punch Bill Ingram in the face. I hope we demolish the Rockets this week just so he cries.

And more
Raheem in MPLS:
As a fan of the NBA, would you consider the Knicks as one of the worst teams ever?
Bill Ingram:
The Kings and the Knicks are fighting for that distinction, I think.
