Bee: Udrih's confidence, shooting percentage on the rise
Choice tidbit: "Udrih's 54.6 percent shooting from the field is second among guards in the NBA. In his past seven games, Udrih has made 64.4 percent (38 of 59)."

I've said it in about 10 different threads
Beno has been more than great. Come to think of it, just what would any coach want him not to do thats in his game? Hnadle the ball? Drive to the hole? Make good passes? Roll to an open area and shoot that great (and rare) mid-range shot? Does he do anything at all that gets in the way of offensive schemes? I’m not an expert but I’d say not. He’s giving full effort within his abilities and playing some pretty good D as well..
If we ever have to choose between his play and the valuable change of pace Sergio offers – it will be a tough choice.

"within his ability"
I think, perhaps, that is the key to his confidence. He is not being ask to do anymore than what he can do, which is implement his excellent and varied offensive skill set within the context of the offense. He doesn’t have to be “the man.” He can simply fit in with the set of players that are in the game at the time. When necessary he will take over the shooting role; and if that is not necessary he will distribute and keep the ball moving. I’m really impressed by his ability to see exactly where he fits into the offense this year. And despite not being gifted with the lateral quickness required to be a good defender, he is at least trying to play good team defense and keep his man in front of him.

and that is other side of his coin
offensively he has perfomed as Kusian above explains (and rec’d) within his abilities and admirably so.
His failings are on the defensive end where his abilities are “less appreciated” – but the key is that the effort is there. He understands that despite his shortcomings on D, his effort on defense is what will keep him on the floor (he can only provide his offensive spark if he is not too great a liablity on defense). It is the same limitation, but a different bent that limits Senor Magico – he steals the ball but is a matador on man-to-man.
The path to realization, Kings 2009-10 version: Coach realizes limitations -→ player realizes limitations -—> the pause that refreshes -→ some fans realize limitations -→ some more fans realize limitations -—> some additional fans realize limitations -—> inifinity (some fans still remaining)

Coach Paul
Reke said that the other day. Apparently it’s catching on.

if he is shooting that well
Then he needs to shoot more!
Beno can be our Ben Gordon type weapon off the bench, but with more consistency. Which is really weird to say.
It is nice to have a 1 on 1 type player in Tyreke, AND have Beno develop into such a deadeye shooter. That being said, it makes it hard to understand why we are losing close games. Those guys have been clutch, but I think their is definitely room for them to take over at the end of games even more.

the offense, defense and rebounding break down as the game is ratched up
essentially, more mistakes, fewer stops, less made baskets, less chances.
As for Beno and Ben Gordan – Ben Gordan can make his offense and is a very clutch performer: Beno may be that guy, but he has not shown that level of ability yet.

Who's Ben Gordan? :P
Can’t believe you guys are comparing Beno to someone who was drafted ahead of Martin hehe.
i know!
I don’t think they are similar players, but I think Beno can be used in a similar role, as the scorer of the bench. Beno has better distributing ability, is not as streaky, but not as athletic and not as prone to shoot the deep ball.

my point is, as well as Beno is shooting
And with the crunch time shots he has made this season (he has made his share in the 4th quarter when the team really needed it) I am hoping to see this team learn continue to learn how to pull out wins. And I think it is a learning process for sure. But with Tyreke able to create for himself off the dribble and Beno shooting such a crazy percentage (what guard is ahead of him in % I wonder) I think the progress can and should be sooner rather than later when it comes to winning close games.

I completely agree
With how refined his shot is right now, I would love to see him being used in the last two minutes, and I think at this point he is a perfect guy as the first guard off the bench, both with his scoring ability, and his being able to run the offense and run the break. I hope he doesn’t play like Ben Gordon, a career .437 shooter who nonetheless shoots every 111 seconds he is on the floor (whatever. I’m a Ben Gordon hater. Sue me.)
I'm happy for the guy.
I’m also glad to see him shooting a little more in the last 5 games (8-8-7-10-11 times a game). I think 12 to 14 times is a perfect amount for him to shoot, depending on the match-ups and who he has to guard of course.
33 Wins. Yeah, I said it.
