"...injury to Kevin Martin that forced first-year coach Paul Westphal to move the one-and-done Memphis Tiger from the point (were they really serious?) to shooting guard..."
Yet another national writer misses the mark (even while bestowing a little love) on your Sacramento Kings. More Tyreke = naPG nonsense.

I actually dropped a note to Hill on this one,
advising him that Evans is indeed the starting point guard for the KIngs, with Donté the current starting 2. Evans does play the 2 when he is on the floor with Rodriguez, and Evans and Udrih share the 1 and the 2 when they are on the floor in tandem.
I’m not sure what was worse – not getting any national attention, or getting mis-informed national attention (even if it is well-meaning).

interestingly, if you read the page and take the poll: Will Tyreke Evans win Rookie of the Year?
41% yes
59% no

Quick question
Who votes on the awards given at the end of the year? Is it coaches or the media?

It really frustrates me that people continue to call him a SG.
Its like they just see a guy who is 6’6 and assume he is a SG. If they actually watched the game, they would see that Evans is the pg on the floor and Beno seems to play better at the 2. But, then again, I don’t know why I keep thinking they will actually watch the games. Why watch a game when you can just make assumptions?

Agreed
Tony Parker plays a similar type of offensive game (a mix of perimeter shots and drives to the basket), and his assist to shot rate may be even lower than ’Reke’s (it was, but I have not checked it recently). But since Parker looks like a point guard (read: short), he’s a point guard. Give me a break.

Rodney Stucky is 6'5" and is at the official NBA media reporters' cut off for the tallest height allowable to play the position
Shaun Livingstone (6’7") was injured because he tried to buck the rule. Magic Johnson was allowed (6’9") before the law was enacted, and was grandfathered in (it helps he may be considered “the greatest”). Oscar Robertson, the best Kings’ (Royals) player ever was 6’5". We have history here.
I propose that Tyreke shave his head and wear bottomless sneakers the next time they measure him to make everyone happy.
