And there was much rejoicing.
Okay, stop playing above your heads, those bastards in Minnesota are coveting John Wall.

We're not getting Wall barring an uforeseen stretch of supreme suckitude
Or insanely good luck in the draft lottery. I’ll let you have you’re pipe dream though Andy. I’ll keep mine for Favors.

Minnesota, Wall? They have Flynn, Sessions, Rubio (kinda), and… they might get Wall? Hah.

Signing Petrie to new deal
is formality. I am guessing a 5 year deal.

You're assuming that GP wants to resign.
He may be ready to retire, he may want to try his hand at a club with deeper pockets or he may be irritated that he was allowed to go into this season without a contract extension.
I wouldn’t call it a formality, but I am glad to see the Maloofs are eager to have him return. I’m not sure that was the case after last season, as evidenced by the lack of an attempt to extend him before he became a lame duck.

I qualify as a non-GP fan
Can’t say that I am super excited by it. He always does OK with young talent and showed he can excell in the last draft. He keeps that up, picking young talent, and keeps PW and we should be just fine.
I don’t see more than a year extension though…

Yes and I am hungry :)=
But seriously, I really held what happened to the Kings and just how low we sunk (how bad we sucked) against GP. It is worth reflecting that having a real coach, and coaching team, can make GP’s picks look like sheer brilliance, though I think Tyreke’s star would shine anyway.
I have given thought to just how much of the past few years has been GP’s fault. I have to weigh and consider whether or not having bad coaches was his fault, how much can be attributed to meddling Maloofs, and just who bear ownership for these failings. He is after all the GM and hired these losers.
I am still not a GP fan and probably never will be, but similar to how I feel about Beno, am willing to keep my mind open and base my opinions of him on how the next few years go. I really do hope he makes brilliant moves…

Getting very bad in order to get good is the
usual formula for success in the NBA.
I would give credit to GP for how short a time we were really bad. Really only 1 year. Muss’s year was a disappointment, Reggie’s first year a pleasant surprise and then there was last year.
If and it’s still a big if, we’ve collected enough pieces with one more lottery selection to put together a contending product, then GP’s a genius.

This is ridiculous
First he screws up the number 12 pick last year, and now he passes up Rubio for some guy outta memphis who isn’t a true point guard. What 20/5/5? Oh wait nevermind

Exactly
The Maloofs have never indicated they were cold on Petrie (ok, no real journalist made such an accusation). I thought the question was whether Petrie was interested in coming back.
