Wow

Kings almost gave it away but luckily we have Evans who single handedly won it for us at the end with a defensive stop and some clutch free throws!

Hodgkin's or non-Hodgkin's?

If you don’t want to answer, I understand. LLS (the parent company of Team IN Training) is the #1 fundraiser in the world for blood cancer (like leukemia).

In either case, I hope the best for your brother.

Arenas definitely complains a lot.

Anyone else notice him getting cozy with the black referee only? It seemed that every time the Kings shot free throws he would track that guy down and start working him for calls. I may have missed it, but I didn’t notice him do the same with either of the other two refs.

I think you're exactly right

And I think the tactic the Kings were going for was not to get JT in foul trouble early. I have no doubt he would have been out early had he been guarding Jamison.

I think it had somewhat to do with Spencer not playing well either

I mean Spencer really could post up Jamison if he had him 1 on 1 8 feet away from the cup. It’s just Spencer is struggling badly right now.

But, I agree about the foul trouble with Jamison.

I dunno about that

The Kings got away with PLENTY of calls:

That 24 second clock violation
Omri’s dunk in the 2nd half (he definitely pushed the defender’s arm off with his left and the ball slipped out of his right)
One of the out of bounds calls (can’t remember which one but it was out on us, but we got the ball)
Foye’s blocking foul where Spencer ran him over

and more..

by UCIrvine kings fan on Dec 17, 2009 12:29 AM PST up reply actions

The 24 second violation

was on the Wiz but Boykins (I think) definitely hit the rim on his attempt and they got the offensive rebound and made it, but the scorekeeper didn’t reset the shot clock.

by MustangMBS on Dec 17, 2009 12:31 AM PST up reply actions

Yeah, the Kings got some breaks

Another subpar night from the refereeing crew. The 24 second shot clock call was laughable – when a ball is heading towards the basket and suddenly bounces up about three feet, there’s a good chance it hit the rim.

by betweentheeyes on Dec 17, 2009 11:09 AM PST up reply actions

Got to agree with you on that one.

There were a lot of calls that were questionable to say the least. Gilbert got away with a lot more travels than the 2 they called on him. Can’t really complain about the officiating (only because we won) because we got away with a bunch and so did they.

There was another goaltend

where I think Beno got fouled and either Haywood or Blatche swatted it on its way down. Resulted in 2 FT’s but should have been an And1.

Just got back as well

Awesome game. Probably the most fun game I’ve been too in person. Had the chance of being the most disappointing one as well, but Tyreke Evans is a demigod. Dollar beer made me laugh, they had it in these cups that wouldn’t be regulation size if you play beer pong. And you could only get two at a time!

Ah well, Arco was rocking, and the game was awesome. I’ll write up a recap for you guys.

My least favorite things

The refs must have been the Wizards biatches cause they called way too damn many fouls on our boys and ignored blatant fouls on the Kings.

I watched Evans get hacked right in front of the ref. You know how he tucks the ball. Well you got to hack him big time to get it loose and that is what happened. Along with like 3 guys falling on him in the paint when he drove on more than one occasion and they never called it on the Wiz. Pissed me the fuck off…

In particular, the loose ball foul call on JT after he make an awesome low post score and then they called it way late and took the 2 away. Like they couldn’t call it 3-4 seconds earlier cause that is when it would have had to have happened.

Jameson is an asshole that deserves to be buried up to his neck on the beach during low tide and only allowed up when he agrees to sign on with the Kings. We really had no answer for him defensively the whole first half of the game.

Hmm..

Hmm..

20 in the first half and 10 in second..

You know the interesting thing about stats. I just looked up the foul totals and the Wiz had more. 23 to 18 so go figure. It is subjective and definitely felt like they were missing some calls. Probably cause they were trying to balance out the number of fouls called or some shit…

Probably just a couple that stood out

Yeah, there were some calls on the Wiz… That is true. I think that Evans wasn’t getting some calls he should when he was aggressive. That will probably change after the refs realize he is a demi-god and they must bow to his greatness.

Very well may be

The one thing I love about our Baby Royals is the versatility. Omri talked about it on the post game, but he talked about how everyone on the Kings is tall & long & what not. That makes it easy to defend a team.

On the other hand, I agree about Udoka vs Smith. He’s the perfect kind of junkyard dog that could frustrate JR Smith.
