That could have been written by any Kings fan here
“Glowing” is aptly put.
Well, it could have been written by any fan here, aside from the fact that it wasn’t full of grammatical errors and an insistence on trading Kevin Martin.

This sounds like a grammar-challenge to me.

I haven't read it yet but I'm assuming...
that there are no mentions of Eric Maynor’s greateness or Kenny Thomas’s ass

The title is pretty awesome except for the typo:
“LeBron of Points Guards”.
Very nicely written. But I’m going to agree with Andy, there weren’t enough Kevin Martin trade proposals.

Don't forget the occasional greed for John Wall, Tyreke and Kevin to be on the same team.
33 Wins. Yeah, I said it.
This thought made me dizzy and I needed to walk around a little bit.
I can’t stop picturing how glorious that would be.
well, i guess i should start my kid in 6th grade then

Sad there's no Maynor reference...oh well.
Petrie doesn’t compare Evans to LeBron so much as to Adrian Peterson. “What he does have is just great acceleration with the ball,” Petrie said. "When he sees a hole, he’s almost like a running back in football: he sees it and he goes.
33 Wins. Yeah, I said it.
OT: Does anyone know what thorpe comented on Tyreke and Casspi yesterday?
BTW Thorpe has Tyreke 1 and Casspi 3 on his current rookie rankings…GOGO Petrie.
Hope
Downside is that casspi is a thorpe understudy so it probably is biased.

Not too biased
Other rookie rankings have Casspi in the 4-6 range.

Yeah it's not like David Thorpe only pushes the guys that trains at IMG

Here ya go (Dec 16 update on Omri. No new update on Tyreke)
2. Omri Casspi, Kings | Rookie card
If Jennings would be the unanimous choice for the most surprising rookie ‘til now, Casspi would sweep the second-place votes. Consider the negatives listed on his draft card by ESPN’s draft guru Chad Ford after speaking to scores of executives and scouts who had seen Casspi play for years:
• Struggles to shoot off the dribble
• Poor shot mechanics
• Lacks deep range
• Lacks great lateral quickness
Opponents must be shaking their heads at that evaluation. Casspi has blistered teams from everywhere on the floor. He hits 3-pointers, gets buckets off the dribble and races the floor for dunks. Plus, he defends anyone and everyone with quick feet and a tough demeanor. All this while having to make the conversion from a power forward in Europe to a small forward here, with some shooting guard mixed in thanks to the injuries in Sacramento to Kevin Martin and Francisco Garcia.
There was a lot of talk about Casspi spending some time in the D-League to acclimate to the NBA after struggling in the Vegas summer league. Instead, he’s fighting for a starting spot in the rookie-sophomore game during All-Star Weekend in Dallas and perhaps even a slot in the 3-point shootout.
David Thorpe’s Analysis
December 09, 2009
Dec. 9: Evans is the rare talent who is already incredibly productive and still has room to improve. He’s also an example of why playing in the right system is so important, as his numbers have improved dramatically since the Kings handed the reins to him.
He gets compared to LeBron James often because at 6-foot-6, he also is so huge for his position. But he’s nowhere near the athlete LeBron is, which gives Evans an easy target to shoot for; as works on being more explosive, he’ll be better at finishing plays near the rim. Shooting is the other big area of concern, and it has been described in this space before. It’s more of a lower-body problem than a release one, so he should have little trouble improving.
Evans is competitive and coachable, and he carries himself maturely on the court, so it seems very likely he’ll nearly reach his full potential. If this were a ranking of who will actually become the best player of this class in seven years, he’d be No. 1.
December 03, 2009
Dec. 3: It’s easy to see that his perimeter shot is his biggest weakness right now. That’s because his balance is poor when he shoots. He’ll kick his right leg forward, while his head and shoulders fall backward. Vince Carter does this a lot, too, and he’s an excellent shooter, so perhaps Evans will end up being just fine (he has been shooting far better recently). But far more often than not, better balance is the best way to better shooting.
Additionally, it’s clear Evans prefers to drive to the hole with his right-hand dribble, while feeling more comfortable pulling up off his left-hand dribble (though he will drive left off the triple-threat position). These are common habits for young players — it’s easier to pull up and shoot off the dribble with the weaker hand because of the ease with which the player can place his shooting hand on the ball; it’s tougher doing that off the bounce.
As Evans starts drawing more attention from the league’s better defenders, making himself more capable of driving to the hole off a left-hand dribble or shooting a jumper off the right-hand dribble will make him tougher to guard.

I don't that's allowed blob
You can’t just copy something that requires ‘insider’ and post it here. Someone who knows more about this type of violation will probably expand.

Nice. Thanks for posting, blob. I take these experts' opinions with a grain of salt.
I’d rather trust someone’s grandma, who actually watches games.
33 Wins. Yeah, I said it.
The idea that experts don't watch games is preposterous
m*****f***ing c***s***ing peanut butter and jelly!! f*** f*** f***!!!
..especially when you consider the actual analysis
He’s giving clear examples of what the players do right and wrong, which obviously come from having watched games.

Thorpe is one of the only analysts at ESPN that I respect
Yes, he tends to favor some of his ‘students’ a bit but I think it’s because he has actually seen them work up close. He knows more bout them and knows how good they can be because he has worked directly with them.
That being said, he’s one of the few who IMO knows what he talks about and actually watches games. He’s very insightful and I appreciate his knowledge

Hahaha! Btw, whats up with Noce's official website?
There hasn’t been any updates at all. I’ve been checking on it and it still reflects his Bulls days.
There can only be one Noce!
I've reached a point with Tyreke
That I no longer need validation that he is good/potentially great. It has got to a point where I think we all know it. But in the beginning I was looking for anything I could find, does Fred or Bob like him? What’s PW thinking? Remember we use to hold debates on whether he should start? I think we had an over/under…everybody who took the under wins. These are nice confirmations for Tyreke. but I think all of StR is confident in what he will become.

I love Tyreke Evans
no really, my hetero-mancrush on Tyreke has turned into full on, head over heals love. Having a broken heart all last season now seems so far away.
Bayless
Bayless had a career high for the Blazers tonight. If their other folks return and he gets lost on the bench again, he’d be a nice guy to acquire down the line. Athletic, can shoot outside, fits our direction towards more physical players.
Bayless could be the third guard in a Tyreke-Martin led rotation in the post-Beno era and as I suggested in the last Beno thread, Beno could even be part of a possible trade.

I think that Blake is a free agent after this year
And Miller will get old fast. It would probably take an awful lot to pry Bayless away from the Blazers.
SACTOWN ROYALTY - Try our thick creamy shakes!
Particularly if he keeps this stuff up
They had a small ball lineup in at the end last night with Bayless, Blake, Roy, Webster and Aldridge, so Bayless is in essense the SF (or Roy if you want to get picky).
That’s why Omri was covering him the other night. I think we had Tyreke, Beno, Omri, Nocioni and JT in at the same time. Tyreke on Roy, Beno on Blake, JT on Aldridge, Omri on Bayless, Nocioni on Webster? There are some mismatches there.

Just thinking
If Kevin was back, would he have been on Bayless with Omri on Webster and Nocioni on the bench?

I was thinking along the same lines -
When the Blazers put Roy on Evans and had Pryz always be on the same side of the floor as Tyreke, who would have had to contend with Martin 1 on 1? Bayless? This is what gets me excited over the prospect of Evans and Martin playing together.

How much would LeBron love a guy like KMart on his team to spread defenses?
When Kev comes back, I think PW needs to look at it like Tyreke is LeBron, the ball is in his hands, and KMart is there to complement and support Tyreke.
