The Baseline's "6 Players Who Need to be Traded"
#6 - Sergio Rodriguez: So Spanish Chocolate was a YouTube mirage. A team that wants to run, and needs a PG (even a capable back-up) could do far worse. Sacramento has buried him in the rotation, in part because Beno Udrih has redeemed himself and Donte Greene (a guard, I guess) is starting to come around. But Rodriguez, for all his faults, can push the tempo. He's restricted this summer, so maybe the Kings get a draft pick for him?

Sergio could start and excel for a few teams
New York comes to mind.

Sacramento has buried him in the rotation?
Really?
Godfather of the "nice ass" movement.... the future begins now...
Donté is getting Sergio's minutes?
This sounds like a job for Doration Kane, or maybe The Most Interesting Man In The World.

If he's buried now, what's going to happen when Martin returns.
I know this isn’t the most favored opinion, but I hope the Kings sign him or at least make the QO. I’d much more in favor of Sergio backing up Tyreke than Beno. Beno duplicates what Martin brings to the team. Sergio brings something no other player brings, at least not to the extent that Sergio does.
Sergio sets up the bigs for easy baskets, defends quicker PG’s, and generally picks up the pace of the offense. True he is prone to mistakes & turnovers. But, his turnovers are mostly due to being aggressive, and I can live with that. But, even tho this is his 4th year, he wasn’t allowed to play his style of game in Portland. And, his career PT is 12mpg, and only 14mpg with the Kings. With consistant minutes and more experience play with our young guys, I think he could be special.

Good point
I consider both Sergio and Beno to be assets. My first default position would be to deal the one that could fetch you the most in trade. My second position would be to deal the larger contract (Udrih).
This sure is a far cry from when Mustafa Shakur and Orien Greene were competing for the starting job, not to mention the minutes that Jason Hart (!) actually logged for us.

Or Will Solomon
I can’t believe I just typed his name. I must do penance.

Not that there’s anything wrong with that. ;p
