Fegan represents Ricky Rubio stateside. Martin was previously represented by current Kings assistant GM Jason Levien.

This can only mean one thing:

Kevin Martin is going to go play in Spain.

I'm with you here Jet.

I personally hope that this means nothing but Martin’s long-term outlook as a Kings is not as black and white as it was a year and a half ago. I’m Pro-Martin and I think Westphal is doing his best to quash these thoughts by starting Donte at the 2 instead of a backcourt of Beno and Evan.

I think this Noc should be the guy looking for solid representation because two months from now the Kings are going to be very crowded at the wing. That three guard set we heard about along with Greene, Casspi, Udoka and Garcia makes Noc pretty expendable.

No law when it comes to me.
I let you type critics write and I just keep it hood.

Agreed, jj.

With the emergence of Greene at the 3, Noc’s services are indeed expendable. I’ll miss him though. I still think he’s one of the more reliable shooters the Kings have for tight game situations. I’m hoping Donte becomes the shooter that Noc already is (one great game doesn’t make him a better shooter than Noc in my opinion).

Good call on Coach Westphal’s possible ‘squashing of K-Mart trade’ thoughts by putting Donte at the off-guard.

33 Wins. Yeah, I said it.

Even if Greene is streaky...

Omri is already the shooter that Noc is. I think the real test will be if Greene can begin to guard bigger players and give Westphal some minutes at the 4. Barring another substantial injury, I see Noc being sent to a contender for a pick, an expiring and low ceiling big to eat a few minutes in case of injury. This is about the long term viability of the roster, not a bash on Noc. Losing Nocioni’s contract eats up 60-80% of the extension Hawes is due which still leaves a lot in the coffers for Thompson/Greene and later Casspi/Evans.

Good points,

but I think somebody else wrote something very similiar.

What could it mean? (serious question)

Fegan has a bit of a rep, but I think he’s decent for an agent.

Kevin has been without an agent since Levien took the Kings job. He didn’t fire Levien, Levien had to give up being his agent when he took the job with the team.

Gotta love the NBA

It’s the only league where an assistant coach is also an agent.

Maybe Fegan can help Kev

Get some endorsement deals and some national recognition as the most efficient guard in the league.

Yeah, that's one way of looking at it...

…we’ve seen Fegan with Yi and Rubio and totally mismanage those guys situations. However, he’s a titan level agent that could make some noise for Martin(hopefully positive.). Hadn’t thought of it that way before.

So what are the Kings going to do

In several months, as we all know, there will be a logjam at the wing position and the Kings are thin in the frontcourt. Apart from doing nothing and drafting a big guy and possibly picking one up next summer as a fa….The way I see it, we will have 3 viable/possible trading chips (1) Kenny Thomas’ expiring contract, (2) Nocioni and (3) either Garcia or Martin (I assume the Kings would not want to trade Greene or Casspi since they are cheaper and have unknown upside). Do any of you think it is possible to trade Thomas, Nocioni and Martin for Bosh….or is that too little/too much(??). Of course any such deal will need to be with some assurance, sign or trade, that Bosh will stick here after his K expires. Conceivably, the biggest hurdle on this would be Bosh wanting to come here and the Raps figuring that getting Martin and Nocioni instead of nothing for Bosh, when he bolts as a free agent, is a good deal.

by CK40 on Dec 2, 2009 10:03 AM PST reply actions

if only we knew for sure Bosh would stay,

But unless they can do an extension and then trade, it is too iffy. And Bosh would want a huge, untradrable contract.

I would rather keep Martin and look to solidify the frontcourt with smaller trades and the draft rather than swing for someone like Bosh.

I'd do it

offensively, Bosh is a superstar. Having a great player and a potentially great player with good supporting players would be absolutely amazing.

Setting the stage

With Levien set up to take over the GM reigns KMart has to find new representation. Hmm… Having the new GM be your former agent sure makes you a likely franchise player.

At least Kevin isn't up for a new contract for 2 more years.......

So there is that.

Yeah

I don’t want to have to deal with Fegan when it comes to contracts.

Who knows Aykis?

Maybe Fegan is hoping to impress Petrie & Levien the next 2 years in contact that he ends up getting hired in the front office.

I don't think I want Fegan in the front office.

What this probably means

Is that Fegan is divesting himself of his clients in because his career has moved in a different direction.
