Cowbell Kingdom breaks down why 'Reke should be ROY
An excerpt from this very pro-Evans article:
Now, here are the areas that Evans excels over Jennings:
- 44.6% from the field compared to Jennings’ 42.8%.
- 46.5% on two-point shots compared to 41.5% for Jennings.
- 5.0 rebounds per game to Jennings’ 4.0 per contest.
- 1.33 steals per game to Jennings’ 1.18 thefts per night.

I agree
but Jennings would win it, cause everyone would be thinking about his 55 point game, and that’s it. In my opinion.
Unfortunately, I agree.
Most fans don’t look at the details and stats that really matter. Jennings can put average numbers from here on out and still be highly considered due to his huge 55 point game. I’m so glad Zach Harper pointed out how non-existant the Warriors’ defense was on Jennings that game. I saw Jennings explode that game and did not see a single Warriors hand within six feet. 55 points is still a great feat but c’mon, son!
It’s kind of how pro-Kobe fans measure Kobe’s legacy by shouting out “81 points” as soon as they hear his name and legacy being questioned.
33 Wins. Yeah, I said it.
The Kings were thought to be the worst team again this season
now we’re 8 & 8, and ranked 16th. And, that’s without Martin. Tyreke is going to get all the credit if we continue to overachieve.

I'm sure Coach Westphal will be credited as well. I credit both of them. Agreed, hightops.
33 Wins. Yeah, I said it.
I don't believe coaches are in the running for ROY ;)
but good comment, anyways.

Someone mentioned that he is arguing the wrong way. Based on averages, Jennings would win. But if you average it after tossing out the 55 point game, Tyreke has an advantage.
Another argument I would use is that while Evans has gotten better through the season, Jennings has had some really good games but recently has been playing horrible.
When Griffin comes back, I think everyone will start to reconsider Jennings play, and that actually might help Evans.
Another flaw in the human character is that everybody wants to build and nobody wants to do maintenance. Vonnegut

Thanks
for the post JET! I’ve been battling Jennings fans the last couple of days!
Something I forgot to mention, which goes hand in hand with the 55-point game skewing BJ’s numbers, is Evans had that scoreless game against Memphis in which his time was limited due to the bad ankle. Something to keep in mind when you look at his numbers too. Both ends of the spectrum there.

No prob, Zach.
It’s hard finding pro-Evans posts in a Brandon Jennings world.
33 Wins. Yeah, I said it.
New rookie rankings on NBA.com
Has Evans as number 1 this week, jumping Jennings.
Good
And I just noticed Casspi leads all rookies in total FG% with .517. That’s awesome for a 3/2 hybrid.

The steal of the draft
That is our Omri. I know it is early and small sample size, but the kid has grit, intensity and a mean face. Got to love it.
I love that word GRRRRIT.
But we need a better name than ‘mean face’. It’s kind of like Norris in Lone Wolf McQuade. You know at the end when Norris is almost beat, but David Carridine hits McQuades’ daughter. Norris gets up with that look, and starts kicking A$$.
We need a name like that look, mean face is weak like bitter beer face.

How about the Death Stare

Seems appropriate somehow.
