So should there be any pre-game festivities for StR night on the 28th?

As many of you know, this is about StR night that is already schedule on the 28th. For more details (in the strange case you do not have tickets) click on this link. (You can try and see if you can get the group rate for tickets. It says the offer hasn't expired, but tickets may not be available nonetheless. It's up to you to take that adventure & see where it leads.)

The real question is what should StR do before the game itself? We know several things. There are 70 people (or as of last check) so the more people that can decide on what they wish to do in advance, the easier it will be to make plans.

Star-divide

The only thing I can say is I'm not down for Hooters. The food sucks, and, yeah, that's pretty much the most important part.

I think the best plan would to be meet up in Natomas. This would be instead of trying to meet up in Downtown for instance.

So, I personally would prefer BJ's (good food, brew, and women wearing real clothes--all pluses for me) restaurant that is on N Freeway Blvd in Natomas. (It's just east off the Truxel exit when you get off I-80.)

Anyway, I'm game for other suggestions and this is the thread for any & all suggestions pertaining to pre-game party planning. So have it.

Of course we're meeting

and I think Natomas works because it’s so close to Arco. Plus, meeting there may help us save some money as we can carpool to the game or something. Just an idea…

I personally don’t care for the place as long as we can get our drink on. We should aso talk about times as I’m sure some people have to work ‘til around 5. I asked for the day off so I’m cool with whatever most people decide.

Let’s hear it people.

Unfortunately, I proabably won’t leave work until close to 6 and will be lucky if I make ARCO by 7. But for the after game, again, I am available to be the DD.

Unless another suggestion comes up soon.

What about time? I usually like to be there for intros before the game so my idea would be to meet at BJs sometime between 4 and 5, and then head to the game around 6.30 or so. Would that work? Too early? Too late?

Also, did I miss it, or can someone give a run down of the events. I know game time is 7 o’clock, but are there any special pre-game or post-game StR group package perks? I think I recall reading about a post-game photo on the floor, right?

I can't make it for dinner

but I would like to meet up before the game; would it be okay if I showed-up at BJ’s around 5:30ish and just grabbed a beer at the bar and joined you at your table?

I think we're going to play it loosely ASSN

Because of lack of “official” interest, and because Monday is not likely to see BJ’s swamped during happy hour, I think we’ll be okay if we float in and find ourselves or whatever.

Cool, that'll be my plan then

I’ll ask for you guys at the front; I’ll be wearing my red retro Kings sweatshirt (since it’s 2-0 at games so far this season), if you see me wandering around.

Okay folks

I still need to know whose showing up at BJ’s tomorrow. I’m going to set the beginning time at 4:30 if for nothing else because I like to eat slowly, and what not. Also, BJ’s has good brew and I want a few swigs of that.

So who is going from the South area?

I’d go to BJ’s, I don’t want to pay for food in Arco, that’s just suicide for my wallet… That reminds me, I have to print my tickets ><

Good idea to eat some chow before the game

My son and I hope to show up around 5. I want to get to Arco by about 6:15 so I can buy some tickets for future games and not get caught up in too much of the walkup. Probably wishful thinking. I already have tickets for the Suns game Feb. 5 and would like to see the Kings against the Blazers later.

I guess ill reRSVP

Me+2 will get there at around 4:30

by EvoStrife on Dec 28, 2009 3:57 AM PST reply actions

People who will re:RSVP

I don’t know who has RSVP’d or not unless they write it here. You people have to comment and say: I"ll be at BJ’s at such & such.

Otherwise, people can get their own tables and what not.

So, did you make any reservations or are we just showing up?

and are you posting a new post with the details?

Well I was originally planning to do that

But now I think it’s best people do this loosely since very few seems to want to let me know what’s up. Also, if you make a reservation, that means we gotta split up a bill and all that. That means cash since everyone can’t all play with their debit cards. I think if 10-20 people show up there is little need for a reservation. We can all get tables and socialize and what not.

Hopefully in the future we can get something better organized or something.

Ummm good question

I think what I’ll do is let the people at the front that if they’re looking for the StR group, just to tell them what table we’re at. I’m going to be getting a Reke jersey tonight at Arco, but obviously i can’t buy it until I get there. Otherwise, I’ll be wearing a t-shirt and blue adidas shorts. (I might be wearing a red flannel shirt, but probably not.)
