A couple trade options and is Casspi the next Peja

First trade: Tyson Chandler for sean May and Kenny Thomas.

Second trade and this is unlikely but possible, Beno Udrih and Donte Green for Andre Miller

Now look at the team

Andre Miller, Sergio Rodriguez, Tyreke Evands

Tyreke Evans,Omar Casspi, Sergio Rodriguez Ime Udoka

Andres Nocioni Omar Casspi, Ime Udoka

Jason Thompson, John Brockman, Spencer Hawes, and Andres Nocioni if desperate

Tyson Chandler, Spencer Hawes, Jason Thompson, John Brockman

10 man rotation, 11 when Kevin Martin comes back

This is a better team, the team would contend when Kevin Martin comes back

Meh.

The Tyson Chandler trade? Sure. But why would we give up Udrih and Greene for Miller? Beno is finally playing up to his contract and Greene is upside personified. We’re going to give that up for an aging and underperforming point guard when we have three perfectly serviceable players at the one now? I don’t think so.

well you get rid of Beno's bad contract, but you need Green, so maybe don't do that trade

but Chandler trade in my opinion is a great trade for the Kings
You get two nothing players for a guy who can average a double double with 2-3 blocks

Why does Charlotte do this trade?

It saves little money this year, and it does create enough cap space to make them players in the free agent market next year.

And regarding Udrih -

Bad by what standards? How he played last year? Agreed. But this year he has been a lights out value.

Are you kidding me? Quit it with these ridiculous and illogical trade posts

Udrih and Greene for Miller makes absolutely no sense. I shouldn’t even have to say anything to back this up but Greene was the key to the Artest trade, he’s finally showing some of his potential on a consistent basis and getting recognized around the league and Beno is better than Andre Miller straight up.

Not to be a d!ick cause I rarely post on here but read frequently, your last 2 trade “idea posts” have made me think about one thing only…how I wish I could have the 30 seconds back in my life that I wasted reading them. I guess instead I just wasted another minute or so on this post.

The Kings are looking amazing now…obvi, one of the wings has got to go and the obvious answer is Noc, or Cisco, if we can still get value for him…looking forward to seeing Martin come back.

Trade one of the hottest 6th men and a young prospect for a broken down PG?

Why don’t you trade Curry and Azubuike for Miller?

It's good to have power.

I don’t have it at work, and I sure as hell don’t have it at home. There’s no place like StR.

Now drop and give me 20.

You should read a post or two before you do one

Its not really a post and you raise something in the title (Omri) you don’t even address in the text.

We have an Asinine Trade Thread for these ideas unless they develop out of a conversation actually happening naturally.

Ty was starting to see a few too many trade posts outside of the Asinine one. I love the single trade posts..easier to post all my trades for centers in one! Damn Joo Ed …DAMN JOO!

Casspi is NOT the next Peja

He’s simply the next Casspi — a unique talent and awesome find by Petrie, who continues to prove why he’s one of the shrewdest GMs in the NBA.

Casspi will never be the pure shooter that Peja was in his prime but I think he’ll develop into a better rebounder and defender than Peja.

As the 23rd pick, Casspi’s a steal.

True that and thats why i think his defense will only get stronger and he will just become quicker!

by Widowwolf on Dec 25, 2009 8:37 AM PST up reply actions

man to man D is not about quickness, but it helps

Some of the best defenders are not the quickest dudes on the planet (Battier, Bowen). It is largely understanding your opponent and making some of these great offensive players do things they don’t want to do and/or aren’t very good at. (Check out the wonderful article by Michael Lewis on Shane Battier “The No Stats All-Star” ). I like the frenzied pace #18 plays at but he seems to have the brains and the desire to improve his defensive skills. He has to learn the League and those he defends better. Same goes for Donte and Tyreke.

by betweentheeyes on Dec 25, 2009 12:00 PM PST up reply actions

I mean quickness running for break out plays and things such as that..Not necessarily on d..Great thoughts though!

brutal fanpost

i don’t think we should make any moves until we see what this tyreke evands kid can do at the pg3 spot and i have also heard good things about this john brockman

i wouldn’t trade sergio for andre miller straight up right now

and to answer your non-sequitur, omri will have a better nba career than peja

put that in the book and send me to the line
