Jon Brockman

Just watched Brockman continue his torrid rebounding pace, as well as swat a JR Smith shot into the crowd to end the third quarter of the Nuggets game. It reminded me of why we love Petrie so much around here. This link takes you to the second round draft thread at the point Brockman was selected - pretty fun to read the comments now.

I must admit I was pretty upset when we drafted him!

I would have loved to have had Dejuan Blair in a Kings uniform. I remember when they selected Brockman I was very upset especially at Shawes, but The Brockness Monster has definitely proved me wrong! Petrie knows exactly what he’s doing, and that’s why I continue to drink the kool aide

Brockman and Casspi I was okay with

You can’t be close to the best in the nation in rebounds for three years in the Pac-10 without knowing what you’re doing, and he definitely had the requisite motor of a second round pick.

I was pretty upset about Evans, though. At least for 24 hours, until I reminded myself that Petrie knows exactly what he’s doing and that he’s much much smarter than I am. I was going through the Carnival pookey posted and was a bit mortified to read all my reactions to the Hawes, JT, and Evans selections, but I guess I wasn’t the only one.

All three rookies have blown away my expectations, though. This draft was a home run.
