Thing I like the most about this game I think
Was that Phoenix was forced to play they’re starters big minutes in order to put us away.

4 PHX starters with 38 minutes
Only 3 Kings players with 30+, Spence and Reke with 32, Noc with 30.

Me three
How tough we have played some of these elit teams on the road, I can’t wait till we get the advantage of Arco on our side. Even if its not sold out the Kids still play better at home, The rims must be fixed.
Well here's the other problem
We match up better, but it took a lot of very good things to go Phoenix’s way tonight for them to win. That’s something new about this too. Before the Suns would get whatever they want. This time around? Nope. The Suns took a beating tonight, and that wasn’t something they were expecting either.

Exactly about the beating
Its why I pointed out how long they had to have they’re starters in just to beat us.
Father of the "Natt this!" movement and Grandmaster of the "Never let AnotherStupidSN forget what a Sham-Wow is" Order.
Yep that's true you did
I explained my last statement wrong. What I was trying to say was that in the past great games from Stoudemire would sink the Kings into a 20’s loss and the game would be over early. This game wasn’t decided until the final minutes. The Kings have never matched up well with Amare (he torches a lot of teams, but the Kings especially) and that was something nice to see that he had to work for his points.

If we can defensive rebound better, definitely.
We did a good job sticking with them. And it’s a testament to how good our team is that I’m actually disappointed we didn’t pull out a win, away from home, against the team with the best home record in the league.

I have us at 1-3 for this 4 games in 5 nights
Tonight I thought would be a loss. I think we’ll beat Miami, its the most winnable game of the 4, New Orleans will want some vengeance and they have CP3 back, and San Antonio really had no trouble with us the first time, I don’t think they will again. But we’ll beat Minnesota. 2-2 for the week aint bad.

Miami is going to be a tough game to win. I think we pull it out though. I hate why JO isn’t going to be there, but he has been a Kings Killer in the past, and the Heat now really don’t have a Center.

It's a wierd sickness.
We don’t really have things like this anymore. You get sick and then you start worrying about everyone you’ve come into contact with. Swine flu is scary but everyone has a shot at getting it from a shopping cart or the line at Starbucks. Chicken pox leave scars and takes 7-10 days of isolation and you have to worry about which of your neighbors bought into the shot scare or if you passed it to the dance instructor teaching you the fox trot….

Yes
Ryan Anderson rocks….as a bench player for one of the 3 best teams in the NBA. LOL

This game shows that we can compete at a high level.
Thomas, Reke, and Sergio kepth us in this one.
Very dissapointed in our low post play. We have to finish at the rim.
Would have liked to see Brockness play some minutes.
Nash shows why he is an MVP candidate.
Fun game top watch.
Absurd stat of the night
Kenny Thomas had 18 rebounds tonight. Kenny Thomas had 15 rebounds last year.
SACTOWN ROYALTY - Try our thick creamy shakes!
That is absurd.
Got to love some Coach Westphal.

from bench cancer to valuable asset
on that alone PW substantiates his salary.
What a nice dilemma – do I put in Kenny Thomas for rebounding and defense or Jon Brockman for rebounding and beastyness?

Yeah it's nice having dilemma's about who to play
Although, Kenny would have been a much better fit against the Suns than Doc Brocktimus Prime Mancakes Monster would have.

Kenny had been playing well though bte
It’s not like this was a total shock that Kenny played well. It was the amount of boards more than K9 playing well. Or, to me it is anyway.

agreed. It was the quantity, the quality has been consistent
and as you know from listening to the game via PHX announcers, it was just K9’s second game….

I was so shocked by that as well. How dare PW unearth K9 from mothballs? (Btw, where are you that you need LP?)

Just got back fro the game
.My thoughts after just getting back from the game. I am a bit tired so I am just going to write what comes to mind and in no particular order.
Let me start with the media. On the way down I listened to the pre game on the radio and the post game on the way back. They were calling the Kings the most surprising team in the NBA in the pre game and were even more impressed with the Kings after the game. They pointed out that it is unbelievable what this team is doing without Kevin Martin and Garcia. It was like "Who are these guys and how are they doing it?" On the post game show they talked about how in the past when the Kings came to town it was taken for granted that the Suns would win and win big. Evidently the last several years at home the Suns have beaten the Kings on average by 24 points.
I also was able to listen to the local the pre game and in game TV broadcast. They started the pre game with a lot of coverage of PW. How much he is liked in Phienix, how happy everyone is that he is coaching again. They replayed PW’s famous Laker guranteed win in the 93 playoffs several times. They also interviewed PW and he told them how happy he was to be in coaching again, how much fun he was having, how much he loved Sacramento, his players and the great fans the Kings have. When he was introduced he got a very warm response from the fans, that was nice to see.
During the in game broadcast it was fun to hear their comments about the Kings. They mentioned ( now do not shoot the messenger) that they thought from a talent level they were at the bottom of the league yet have a winning record. It was like "Whats going on here?" "Who are these guys/" "Why cant the Suns put them away/" LOL
The game:
I thought the key point in the game came at the 6 minute mark of the fourth. The Kings were down one and Greene went to the line and missed both free throws. Right after stopping the Suns Greene went to the line again and made one of two. Then Tyreke went to the line and made only one of two. Right after Tyrekes fta’s the Suns had the ball and there was a scramble after a Suns missed shot with the Suns finally getting it then Fry hit that 3 pointer. Bam from being down 1 the Kings were down eight. The missed free throws and Fryes 3 was a 7 point turnaround and an 8 point lead for the Suns. The Kings never were able to recover.
The Kings gave the Suns a huge scare. How tight was this game ? There were 17 lead changes and 16 ties. The fans were very nervous I mean even with about 90 seconds left the game was still not decided Even though the Kings lost from the announcers to the fans the Kings got their attention and their respect. Another thing to keep in mind is the Suns really really needed this game after losing to the Nicks and Cavs and playing the Lakers tomorrow. This was a must win for them.
The players:
Hawes : This guy IMO has huge potential but damn he has to hit his shots. At one time he was 1 for 9 and a lot of those misses were right under the basket. Having said that he could really be good.
Green : He was MIA. Let me put it this way 4pts? 4 pts? You gotta be kidding me.
Evans: Frankly he looked tired and did not seem to have a lot of energy tonight. That’s not to say he did not play well but I thought he could have gone to the basket anytime he wanted to and was to quick to take the outside shot.
Rodriguez : That guy is smooth.
Casspi: Another player that is quite impressive.
Thompson : A rebounding machine.
Nash and Amre: Killed us . Nuff said.
Frye: Hit 3 straight threes but the killer IMO was around the 6 minute mark.
All in all the Kings gave the Suns all they could handle in a must win game for the Suns. This was a very winnable game.

Although I think you mispelled Thomas as Thompson. 18 boards for K-9 (woof!)

nice "view from Phoenix"
The pre-game guys got the Kings right, IMO. This Kings team is down near the bottom in terms of overall talent and even further below the standard with their heretofore best player on the sidelines.
The Kings have been able to acheive what was so elusive last season. Respect.
17 games in after a 17 win season. Wow. Just Wow. Your guy St.Paul has got to be given the lion’s share of the credit.
Nash took over this game for PHX. The Kings just couldn’t keep up.
Nice synopsis PWfan. Rec’d.

Thompson
Had 4 rebounds. He wasn’t a rebounding machine tonight. However, Amare and Kenny were machines. How does the starting center and power forward only collect 9 rebounds TOGETHER. I know Kenny picked up the slack, but that must improve, especially with Amare’s night.

I just got home from the game as well
I’ll probably do a writeup if I ever have time, but I gotta say everytime Kenny Thomas got a rebound, I went “WOOF!”
The people around me probably thought I was nuts, but I knew my StR people would be proud.
:)
Fun game. The Suns can really shoot the ball and our perimeter defense was god awful in the 4th quarter. Omri works his ass off on every play and it’s not possible that Reke is only human. He really is incredible when you watch him live.
"Are you tryin to say Jesus Christ can't hit a curveball?"
Looking forward to your recap
Plus, I love using inside jokes around nobody that understands. Woof!

I see Noce had a good game. 20pts, 4 rebs, 7-13 with 4 3's...
But since Kings lost, it doesn’t matter.

The Kings don’t have a chance to win if Noc doesn’t have a good game.

I’m just kinda depressed that the Kings lost despite the fact that Noce had a good game.
I must be getting spoiled, what with all those victories with Noce just having pretty average games.
