Go Kings!

Let’s make a statement on the road!

7 straight in Phoenix?

and the Suns have been playing great ball? I’m a little scared. This is one of those games where I’ll be happy for our guys to just play really well

they may be feeling pressure

2 straight losses, including a horrendous one at the Knicks, and Lakers to come. Hopefully they don’t take it out on us.

One thing about good teams

You haven’t won anything until the final buzzer sounds. The Heat were up by four with nine seconds left last night against the Lakers and bit it at the buzzer. So even if the Kings play well and head for home with a win in sight, hey still have to finish it.

Class is in session, and it looks like first lesson is defending the pick and roll.

But Tyreke is going to go off on the other end as well.

it's a terrible rule

you can foul someone, have them not even in the motion of shooting, take two steps and chuck it up. a player may not even intend to shoot, but still have it count after two steps. there’s a reason FIBA won’t incorporate that rule

by thisismellow on Dec 5, 2009 6:32 PM PST up reply actions

There's too much Extra-curricular stuff

that happens during that 2 steps(traveling, offensive fouls, stoppage of play) that gives the offense the advantage to score.

Kings are doing everything they have to

They’re staying within contact. Eventually the Suns will slow down and not be hitting everything. It’s the law of averages.

They defy those kind of laws though

It would be a lot easier if we had a 6’7’ two guard that wears the number 23, and can score from three and all around the floor at will. Probably get you 40 points in this game on 18 shots……nevermind if we had that guy we should just trade him cause this team can win without him.

Fun fact

Jennings has only ever shot over 40% from the field once against a team with a winning record.

Jennings really isn’t close to the kind of player Tyreke is. He just had an extremely favorable schedule early on. A steal at 10th, but not quite too easy.

After watching Thomas lately,

I’m wondering why the last three coaches didn’t utilize him. The guy is really shoring up our “D” and rebounding.

Hawe’s is so far off his game, I would not use him too much in the second half. Thompson and Greene need to settle down.

easy to breakdown this game

we had 5 players who played really well….

Noce (nice shooting)
Sergio (awesome play)
Tyreke (normal fantastic game)
K9 (18 boards, great job)
Beno (big spark after slow start, needed better defensive)

but guys we count on did not give us enough, all had sub-par efforts:

JT (only 4 rebounds, just outclassed by Amare)
Hawes (only 5 rebounds, 4 for 14 FGs, missed ton of easy shots, complains to refs)
Greene (1 for 5 FGs – missed huge free throws in 4th)
Casspi (only 2 for 8 FGs)

by bench_blob on Dec 5, 2009 8:37 PM PST reply actions

Hawes

Outclassed by Frye. You think he’d hit more threes haha.

by kingme on Dec 5, 2009 8:38 PM PST up reply actions

stats not telling the whole story -

Hawes frustrated by the refs – JT same but looked a step slow tonight.
Casspi was off offensively but made it up for it with effort. Greene is still too inconsistent to knock.

Only saw the fourth quarter

Nash is ridiculous. His jumper gives him just enough separation to avoid being blocked. Our switch defense was absolutely horrible in the fourth though, and too many people were left wide open for 3. Still, I like the scrappiness of this Kings team, and I think we might have won with a Kevin Martin in there (I feel like I’m one of the few that thinks we’ll only be better with a healthy K-Mart). Also we couldn’t hit a free throw at all.

Bring on Miami tomorrow.

You're not the only one who thinks the Kings miss Martin in games like this especially

But, even then, he wasn’t there. No reason to worry about that. The development of Omri & Donte has been greatly helped by Speed & Cisco’s absences. There’s a silver lining if you look hard enough.

Def could of used Martin for when the suns went on runs tonight. Again he is the type of scorer that will put up 15 in 5 minutes. He would be a great option along Tyreke, and maybe if he is no longer the main option on offense he won’t get hurt as much
