As I am sitting here preparing for my finals week, I realized that what better way to distract myself from being studious by posting on STR. I read STR religiously everyday. I refresh my browser on my mobile phone to see if anything new has been posted that I haven't read. This got me thinking, I'm sure I'm not the only one doing this everyday. Well I hope I'm not the only one. That's beside the point. I am also a big soccer fanatic. I don't know how many of you actually watch soccer but everywhere you go around the world there are fan clubs for your favorite soccer team. They attend their favorite squads' home games and they all usually sit together in the same section of the stadium. I think this is just incredible to show the team support. To show them that there are die hard fans out there, that do follow the team and try to attend the home games even after a terrible season. What I'm trying to get at is that this would be a really cool thing to do in basketball as well. I know there are a lot of games so it would be difficult to get such a thing going for 41 games but wouldn't it be cool to see a couple of games where a "STR fan club" sits together in the same section and shows the team support? I may be the only one with this crazy "soccer idea" but what better way to show the team and the nation our fan support none other than on Dec. 16? Our only nationally televised game where we come and show our support as a "Fan Club". A whole section at Arco Arena full of STR readers and supporters of our Kings would be pretty cool. I don't know how many of us live in the Sacramento area but I would like to see the reactions to whether such an idea is far-fetched. Maybe we could all sit in section214?? :)

I've thought about this
from time to time. It would be an interesting experience – of that I have no doubt. I wouldn’t be able to make it this year because of distance & cash concerns (I’m a student also) – but I’d love to in the future once I leave school and gain a measure of freedom.

I would be in for this. I, too, have finals week just around the corner.
But I am planning on attending 2 or 3 games for the time that I am in town over winter break. If you can FanPost/FanShot what area you are planning on sitting (upper deck please!) I will be sure to try and get my tickets there as well.

I too have finals this week
but I am already planning on attending a few games this year when I go 2 Sac on winter break and spring break! This would be a fun idea.

After the first week of March I will be back in Sac semi-permanently.
If something like this could happen in that time frame, I would be all-in. I’m a huge soccer fan as well, the idea of a section of “Ultras” would be awesome. Too bad we can’t bring flares to games, I love when in big matches you see an entire section glowing red.
So are the cowbells still outlawed in Arco??? If not, they could be our “Ultra flares”!

I remember there being a while that we weren't allowed to bring them in.
I know I was turned away with one in 2004. I’m hoping that we can use them again, I still have the one that they gave out for a while in 2001-02.

I just contacted my Kings ticket representative on this
I don’t know what (if anything) the Kings would be willing to do for us as a group, but StR is known within Maloof Sports & Entertainment, and mostly in a positive way.
And unlike Sammy, I would be honored to rub elbows with each and every one of you – I would just take a hearty shower the moment that I returned home.
I’ll let you know if I hear anything.

ALERT! ALERT! ALERT!
My ticket rep told me that the Kings will be introducing a special group offer for the 12/16 game. 20+ group tickets = $10 seats anywher in the upper level.
Again, I can’t be at this game or help to facilitate, but when the announcement comes out (keep an eye on Kings.com) you might be able to move forward on your own.

Its dollar a beer for the 12/16! if that isn’t motivation enough then I don’t know what is! I haven’t seen the 20+ group tickets for 10 dollars on the site just yet. If that is the case it would be awesome to go, no excuses either because its 10 dollars a ticket!
I think what the Kings may be doing
is offering a free “move down” to upper bowl season ticket holders into the lower bowl. This will fill the lower bowl for TV and satisfy any season ticket holder that might get upset over reduced price tickets in the upper bowl. Once that is done, I anticipate reduced price tickets offered out to the community for upper bowl tickets. It’s a pretty well thought out and agressive plan.
