I talked myself into believing
First off, do we have the cap room to be a part of the LBJ free agent sweepstakes? If so, I talked myself into believing he is coming.
Reasons why he might come to Sactown
We are solid at the 5,4, 2 and 1, with LBJ at the 3 he would be surrounded with the enough young players to potentially win a few chips.
He would get all the credit for turning an entire organization around/saving our team from departing
All or our core players are around his age
He played his first pro game at Arco
He is KING James and we are the Kings
We have Kevin Johnson
We have IN and OUT Burger
If he doesn't like the Kings he doesn't like NBA Basketball
Im sold, if i was LBJ I would be a King Next year.
Any other reason you can think of as to why he may decide to make the move?

If he doesn’t like the Kings he doesn’t like NBA Basketball
You made me snortle with that one.
In all seriousness, on the basketball side of things, this would be an incredible coup. But on the HR side, LeBron has been really leaving a sour taste in my mouth for the last couple of years. He just seems to be kind of a jerk when you look at his comments and his body language when he plays. If it were completely my decision, I would prefer he not be in a Kings uniform.

I am. I just have pride in Sacramento being a team with players who are respectable human beings.
In a basketball sense it would be incredible, but LeBron is a guy that does not have tons of class, in my opinion. I love to watch him play, but when he isn’t in the middle of a play, he just makes me uneasy. He has been hearing the name “The King” for too long and since an early age, and he fully believes in it.
I’m just not feeling the idea. If it happened (which it won’t), I wouldn’t complain. But since we’re talking hypothetically, I wouldn’t really want him bringing his ego to Sacramento.

..since yesterday the Bucks announcers were highly critical of LeBron and his “look at me” attitude. They took exception to his powder throwing pre-game ritual, and what they perceived as arrogance on display in how he glared into stands and strutted, and talked trash… They thought he should have been called a ’T" for taunting the opponent. There was definitely soured grapes involved, as the Bucks were scoreless for 12 minutes and the Cavs went on 22-0 run.
Lebron is supremely self-confident, roots for his teammates as much as any superstar in the league. He is arguably the most talented basketball player to come into the NBA in 20 years. How you could not want to see him in a Kings uniform is beyond my comprehension.
Now if you feel the same way about K*be, then I agree 100% with you.
That's the thing, it all seems calculated to me.
Cheering for his team mates so adamantly when everyone knows he has a sub par supporting cast, it’s just very fake to me. I know that my opinion is just my opinion, and it’s all on a gut-level, not on a basketball level. That’s why I try to preface all of my criticisms with the recognition that he could very likely go down in history as the greatest player to ever touch a basketball.

I couldn't disagree more
When he made that wild three pointer in the playoffs last season, the absolute joy he showed was pretty refreshing for a superstar. Most of those high level guys (hello, Kobe) do the chest thumping, sneering, jaw jutting thing.
I’ll take a LeBron James on my team, 24/7/365. Give up whatever you need to, pay whatever you need to and build around the guy.

I agree with Otis
and Tom, I get exactly what you’re saying about players like that. I would hate to root for egomaniacs who only care about their games and not their teammates. I agree with Otis because I don’t think LeBron is one of those players.
This is very subjective so I we all see things differently so it’s definitely your right to look at LeBron that way. I just think he’s one of the good guys.

What you won't take on leap year? Ha
I will take LeBron, lil LeBron, Old Man LeBron, Rico Suave LeBron. I will leave teenage LeBron who rides the short bus, but all take all the rest of them.

Wow
The only thing crazier than thinking Lebron would come to Sacramento is not wanting him to come.
I like LeBron,
but shouldn’t we run this by Western Conference scouts to make sure that he can play with Tyreke and Beno?

I wish.
I think we would be a great landing point for him. He is not a true PG unfortunately.

I'd rather have Darko
Seriously, we need to trade K9 and Sergio for Darko and Nate RIGHT NOW!

When you put it that way
Why not? Maybe after reading this Bill Ingram at Hoopsworld will put it in his column. You read it here first. “Sources inside the King’s FO report that reps from LBJ’s camp have approached the team regarding a move to the west /coast this summer.”

I'd Take
LeBron in a heart beat, Yeah he’s an ass hole at times, but he’s not the ass hole that Kobe is…LeBron goof’s with his teammates, LeBron dances, and is the first one up from the bench when a teammate makes a play, what does kobe do? Stare at his teammates until the pass him the ball. LeBron, may have a pinch of an attitude problem, but what star making over 80 million and the best all around player since MJ wouldn’t he be a little, “hey look at me?” and my question to the people who don’t want him….why is the “hey look at me” such a bad thing? Kings are always being left out of everything, look at all-star weekend, we didn’t have 1 guy from the kings, no all star game, no rookie-soph, no slam dunk, no HORSE, no skills, no 3 point. I mean jesus maybe it’s time we got a guy who is flashy maybe people would stop forgetting that the Kings are not just LA’s Hockey team….
On a different note, am i the only one who thinks Greene should be in the Dunk contest?
That's what she said
too obvious?

He comes here for only one reason to challenge Kobe
In Cleveland LBJ gets to play against Kobe 2 games a year, 3 if both teams make it to the finals. Playing for Sac he would play Kobe 4 times a year and most likely the playoffs every year. Beating Kobe would futher enhance LBJ’s legion as the Greatest of All Time.

Then he would go to the Clips, right?

LeBron with that young L.A. squad would be pretty incredible, all Clipper jokes aside.
But then LeBron would blow out his knee in the first game. He’s gonna stay away from the curse!

Sorry but had to laugh at the "We are solid at the 5,4, 2 and 1,"
We are solid at the 1, 2 and 4 really i don’t get how people think Hawes is a solid C.
Look at stat lines and look at the other centers in the league.
For example just looking at Hollinger’s stats for top 20 centers
and guess who isn’t there.
The league has 30 teams, if 20 spots are gone that means he is in the bottom 33% of centers..Solid I think not.
Judgment day is coming!
Spencer Hawes PER is 14.5
it was 15.0 before the last game which is league average using Hollinger’s own stats. The guy is 21 years old.

You know what they say
Old enough to drink, old enough to throw under the bus when he doesn’t meet expectations created by comparing him to rare special talents that have succeeded in the past.
Admittedly it’s not a popular saying.

I was just joking around
but you realize JT is 23 right?

NO i meant the list of top centers currently in the NBA. He is ranked as the 20th top center in the league and Hawes is about 33. Thats what i am saying with above comment
Judgment day is coming!
I understood that
but my joke was about being old enough to drink and expectations, and you came back with JT who is older than Spencer and thus should have higher expectations.
Again, it was a joke. I wouldn’t consider Spencer solid either, but then I don’t expect him to be at this point in his career.

Exactly my point across the threads. Not solid now but maybe in a few years with the proper mentoring. And thats i keep coming across the point that we need a solid big now and Spence off bench for at least 1-2 years. I just find it funny that JT is considered Sacs top center. Even though Spence has been playing for 1 more year in the NBA then JT has.
Judgment day is coming!
I'm ok waiting for Spencer to develop
and adding our third big through this year’s Big heavy draft. If Spencer doesn’t continue to progress this season, we can always make a move during the off season. I don’t see us being a playoff team this year regardless, so I’d rather give Spencer every opportunity to grow this year.
Of course if a deal you can’t refuse comes along(like Okafor for K9), I think you have to take it.

I think we're solid at the 1, 2 and 4
with solid at the 3 very close because of the pending maturation/development of ____(take your pick)_.
I don’t think its clear yet whether Hawes is a future starter or a good back-up.
So I also think we need another C, someone to – if nothing else, take the pressure off.
